"But when Republicans are in power, it seems there is no conservative party."

trog's right. let's just got back to the days of horses and buggies. everyone make their own ******* path. shouldn't be an issue. at. all.

No, I just know Amazon isn’t going to start repairing and improving infrastructure.

One way to pay for it would be a 25 cent increase in the gas tax.

IMO anyone arguing about taxes in terms of investments is arguing from a false premise - that taxes are levied for an ROI, which is different than a benefit IMO. When I buy a pizza, it tastes good and I won't die from hunger for a while, but I don't look at it as an investment. Our military keeps us from getting invaded, but I don't look at that as an investment. It's necessary expense.

Taxes pay for a mix of necessary and unnecessary programs that may or may not be a proper use of tax money. I think infrastructure and the military are necessary and proper uses of tax money. The list of things that are neither is too long to list.

Which brings us back to the real matter at hand....our Gov't spending too much money for stuff we should not aughtta be spending any money on at all..

Libtards like Flog would rather see us continue Obama's policy of spending trillions of our tax payer dollars to rebuild terrorist countries instead of our own.

A Republican Congress blocked Obama’s infrastructure plan. What, Breitbart didn’t cover that?

That’s development, not infrastructure. They aren’t building roads for transit, they’re building them for access.

Roads are infrastructure. Public parks are infrastructure. Sewage and waste treatment - something else I mentioned as being built and repaired by private industry as part of development - are infrastructure. So yes, private industry is currently building and repairing a lot of infrastructure.

Nice ******* spending bill the “republicans” put forward and the president signed.

Only upside, the Dems can't scream bloody murder that Trump shut down the govt.
I'm hoping Trump knows more than we do and has some tricks up his sleeve for later.

This country needs a fiscal conservative party badly. These ******* just piss me off. No end in sight to this crap.

Well, at least the stock market is doing well. The economic growth will offset all this spending. Right?

Maybe he is going to fire everyone in charge of writing the checks to the sanctuary cities? "Yes, California Mayor Dipshit, the money was allocated and your request is being processed. Unfortunately, we are very shorthanded right now and it will be several months to a year before the money can be released. Thank you for your patience. To hear this message in Spanish, press 1."

White House announces ban on most transgender service members

The White House announced Friday that the Trump administration would implement its ban on all transgender service in the military "except under certain limited circumstances."

It would also stop all use of Defense Department or Homeland Security resources to fund new sex reassignment surgeries, except to protect the health of individuals who have already begun treatment to reassign his or her sex. The announcement was expected, since it was part of President Trump's executive memo in August 2017 renewing a former transgender military service.

According to the White House memo, "transgender persons with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria -- individuals who the policies state may require substantial medical treatment, including medications and surgery -- are disqualified from military service except under certain limited circumstances."

The memo further states "the Secretary of Defense, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, with respect to the U.S. Coast Guard, may exercise their authority to implement any appropriate policies concerning military service by transgender individuals."

BOOM!

Bolton Expected to 'Clean House'

Incoming National Security Advisor John Bolton and people close to him are expected to launch a massive shake-up at the National Security Council, aiming to remove dozens of current White House officials, starting with holdovers from President Barack Obama’s administration, according to multiple sources.

Those targeted for removal include officials believed to have been disloyal to President Donald Trump, those who have leaked about the president to the media, his predecessor’s team, and those who came in under Obama.

“Bolton can and will clean house,” one former White House official said.

A second former White House official offered a blunt assessment of former Obama officials currently detailed or appointed to the NSC: “Everyone who was there during Obama years should start packing their ****.”

That’ll certainly help people sleep at night...

I am happy to see the changes Trump is making in his inner circle. He is now acclimated to the DC game, and is now surrounding himself with those who are of like minds, and not swamp creatures. Despite his budget mistake, he can still accomplish much.

I care little for what happens inside the beltway and the constant overreaction from every media outlet. I have stated that since he's been elected and encourage all the whiny liberals I know to do the same.

Policy is all that matters. Not how he acts. Not how he "disgraces" the position. Not the "moral" outrage of his tweets.

To me, the policy has been good. Pretty consistently conservative (and I no longer use "Republican" to describe me or politicians because that is a misnomer). I was very disappointed in the courts that allowed the DACA program to continue. That was an unforeseen bump in the road that really prevented Trump's overall plan of using that chip to secure significant immigration reform and border improvement money. Because that went away we now have a very "Washington" budget that doesn't really do much other than help congressmen/women keep their jobs.

Over the winter (and I said this numerous times), I was encouraged at the prospect of immigration changes by March and the courts stopped that from happening through their inaction/delayed ruling.

I have no idea what can be done between now and the midterms. I don't think there will be much new based on how this congress is acting, which is why Trump is now focusing on diplomacy and foreign affairs.

On that front, I still (overall) like what is happening. I think the world is better off. After all the "Trump is Putin's buddy" crap, we have sanctions on Russia. North Korea and South Korea are talking better than they have in decades (again, this isn't OUR problem, it's South Korea's). Israel and some of the major Islamic states in the region are meeting. It's time to stop the "talk" about trade with China and do something and rattle their cages (which Trump is doing with the tariff talk). Europe is paying more into NATO and dealing with their own troubles without our meddling (which they should be doing). People call this "lack of leadership" but to me it's the exact opposite. It takes good leadership to realize we aren't the almighty "fixer" of every problem in the world.

Signs are also indicating we will re-enact the sanctions on Iran.

And through it all our military use has been consistent in their mission: to hunt out islamic extremism and clearly condemn any government that abets, harbors, assists or turns a blind eye to their ability to recruit, plan, finance and train for terrorist attacks against western targets.

That "fight" is never going to end unlike what Obama seemed to believe. In the scheme of things we must ALWAYS be diligent against the rats and insects that rise out of the chaos that is the Muslim world. If we aren't there to stamp them out and kill them when they show their heads, it only gets worse if we do nothing, leave or imagine the problem doesn't exist or someone else will do it.

So overall, that's the mission and Trump is doing a pretty good job on all these fronts. At least in my opinion and regardless of what he says or tweets.

Better late than never. W made the same mistake in keeping a number of Clinton people.

I know I will.

What I do know is that I voted for a Republican for the last time.

What I do know is that I voted for a Republican for the last time.

I felt that way yesterday. Upon reflection, that decision could be disastrous. What I will not do is to vote for any Republican that voted yes for that spending disaster. And I will not vote for someone just because of the R beside their name. I am also open to 3rd party candidates.
