Schefter reporting Steelers are now listening to trade offers for Bell (jets maybe)

Steeler Nation was a band of wanderers who couldn't stand the Official site any longer and followed DD to the promise land that was Steeler Nation....after many board changes and adjustments, at some point DD and Juice hooked up and Juice's followers came to Steeler Nation...we adopted the misfits and taught them the ways of a real Steeler fan board. We heard tales of a boneheaded poster named coach but he was likely too scared to jump right in with the animals we had positing at that time..(you ******** know who you are) so many great posters who have gone on to their life's pursuits and left us behind. Coach would only resurface here after we had toned it down and become a kinder gentler message board.

This sounds pretty close (anecdotes aside) DD’s nation site was pretty raw on the banter during the 90’s and there were changes made periodically for site member access and bandwidth. Coach appeared to show up after another site was added to the population.

Interestingly, before the Tribune shut down their Steelers board (and the Trib officially recommended that we come here), there was also a poster named Coach (though probably not the same person.) That username must be everywhere.

The trib board had "Crash" correct?

That's when I came aboard I think. Maybe the Post Gazzett shut down and I came over then.............Oh the memory. I too Remeber a Coach on those boards as well. I know that once I showed up, there was a definate improvement for all those involved. I raised the bar and was able to keep my wits and my head didn't grow to abnormal proportions which would have been easy for it to do. I Remeber a young Coolie asking me all kinds of questions so I kinda mentored him to the man he has become, ONE of my proudest students. There was this one guy named crash and he was a handful,....... Loved to hear himself argue over worthless ****. Memory lane........................

I never asked anyone any questions...I preferred to **** **** up on my own...so don't try to blame yourself for the ******* I have always been

It was much easier back then. Though I did learn to post here from the greats: TMC, FSF, and even Wig's fantastic fan fiction! Glad Del is still here as well. It made me a more educated poster, and pushed me to learn more and get better.

At least we don't get banned due to that MOD's menstrual cycles anymore. And I'm talking about the male MODs...

how could you leave Supe and I off your list of greats...

now where is that ban button

You Remeber him? How he always had to have the last word, the middle word and the starting word........?

He still goes to a few places that I know of. And yeah he is still the same.

Back in the late 1990's to early 2000's my main point was Kordell has to go! The board was divided. I really liked this Quarterback from Purdue University in the draft. His nane was Drew Brees, taken by the Saints with the 1st pick in the 2nd round.

I also felt that Rooney was cheap back then, as we'd lose players to free agency. Dan Rooney didn't want to pay for O'Donnell, who went to the Jets for a 5 year $25 million contract. I believe with Neil and maybe a better WR or TE, we could have one back to the super bowl again. Instead we had to suffer through Tomzack-Stewart-Milller-Graham...awful QB's These guys were not even good enough game managers to take a stacked team around them to the super bowl again.

You didn't read the revised update did you? The one that includes the free agents picked up this year, resulting no compensation picks.

UPDATE 10:35 p.m. ET: Although the Steelers would be eligible for compensatory draft pick compensation, Bell’s departure would put their net free agency gains and losses at zero, given that they signed safety Morgan Burnett and linebacker Jon Bostic and lost tackle Chris Hubbard. Per a source with extensive knowledge of the compensatory draft pick formula, the next gains and losses of zero would keep the Steelers from getting any compensatory draft picks.

So if we would still get a comp pick for Bell then Bell/Hubbard = Burnett/Bostic. Seems we drew the short stick on that trade-off.

It took Heinz Field being built and luxury suites before the Rooney's started really paying their own. Ever since they've been very good about keeping core players and getting them paid. Le'Veon is an exception to that. There's not too many players that left this franchise and did better after in the recent past.

When you wonder why people ridicule you, have this post printed out for review.

Don't be brain washed by the talking heads as they conveniently forget to talk about how BELL was offered a GREAT deal both years by the Rooneys. BELL is no exception as he is the ONE who turned it down.

This is correct. I was on the original board even before DD. There were many boards during the exodus. We even had one with FX girls. On the old board we had people like the Apologist and PFunk. We also had Hank the Tank and some Buffalo Bills girl named Karen. We also had BenZgaLsRulez.

Oh and "until"

And remember his Mother begged him to and this same agent advised him to sign last year. Bell at the last minute balked.....OBJ got to his ear.
