Can a defensive player win the Heisman Again? Coolie Pimps Ed Oliver

Hello FNG. You can judge my film break down on Burns, and remember I wanted X Howard, who's much better and would have taken the trade down picking Safety Simmons, who's quality.

Our you can see who I would have taken in 2018, and compare / contrast it to who the Steelers selected.

I'm not always right, and I think Colbert is decent. Doesn't mean I can't be better on any given year.

I was also for pressuring Bell to sign the tender and trading him before the draft. That ship has sailed

oh **** you are an arrogant mother ******....no one is going to go back and pull up your ******* opinions on anyone...Hell you've been wrong multiple times in this thread...off the top of my head your thoughts on the success of the Outland Trophy winners and your statement that Arizona was a bottom feeder in the Pac-12.....and I'm not even going to get into your "analysis" of Oliver's plays...

When was the last time Arizona won the Pac 12? Tell us! The Outland Trophy ( which Oliver has little chance of winning in 2018 ) does not equate to automatic success at the pro level.

To think the title of this thread was can Oliver win the Heisman? LOL, that looks pretty foolish right now, wouldn't you say?

I predict you will be moving the goalposts backward saying, yeah but Oliver missed games, and not do the same for the rest of the field when I point out Oliver's lack of productively vs the pass.

Stop twist words, and keep your poise if possible. When Oliver's will play again? That knee is still causing him issues.

I haven't twisted words. You said Arizona was a bottom feeder in their conference. I pointed out they were in 2nd place in their division. Which clearly indicates they are not bottom feeders at least for this season. No one said winning the Outland Trophy meant automatic success, but you said that l"maybe 1 out of 3" winners had a good NFL career, I pointed out that the stats were far better than that.

As for the title of the thread, I have pointed out to you several times that my first comment in the thread was "not likely" so drop it already

I never lose my poise on this site. There are times when an arrogant mother ****** has to be called on his **** and you passed that a long time ago.

Oliver will play again before Bosa does. I already pointed out what Navy did to Oliver. He had practiced last week and went through pregame warm-ups with the intention of playing, but afterward he and the trainers decided his knee was not ready. Hopefully he is back out there against Temple Saturday so you don''t get an out on our bet.

Coolie,

When is undersized Ed going to play next?

I say undersized because I suddenly see draft sites ( Such as Walter Football ) list him at 6'1" tall, and other question his playing weight. 6'3, 290? That's a Houston Cougars measurement. More like 6'1" 280.

Remember when his arms measure out on the shorter side, who you heard it from first.

Sure, a undersized guy who gets pushed around at times by average to bad competition, who is not a pass rusher will go inside the top ten of the 2019 draft.

I'll know I'm right once these draft web site, who really aren't scouting much right now beyond the hype start reporting the observations I have from scouts.

coach I look forward to your time off. My guess is there will be less window licking during this time period.

You keep drilling this undersized mantra , yet you yourself aren't even sure of his correct measurements.

Kind of silly.

When the announcer of games suggests he's really 275 - 280 pounds, and a major draft web site says 6'1" tall, those numbers favor me. I think he isn't 6'3" tall. Shorter for sure. Do you see ANY NFL starting DT's at or under those numbers? Neither do I, maybe there are one or two.

Yes, I will pound undersized / weaker completion that makes him look bad at times / his lack of passing rushing ability. I will also point out, he's not a 4-3 DE or 3-4 " five technique end, which limits his value.

Does anyone remember Chris Zorich? I bring up the name as he was hyped, a former Lombardi winner ( 1990 ) and also short at 6'1" tall, and roughly 282 pounds. Does this sound like a certain DT prospect for the draft in 2019?

There was some talk on Steeler boards about taking him in round one. Zorich went in round two, and had a fair NFL career. I'm not saying Oliver and Zorich are equals, but they have some similarities in terms of Hype, awards, and statue. Zorich once thought of as a first round pick saw his stock fall near draft day...and he played well in some big games vs tougher competition. A bit of food for thought.

If I lose, I'll honor the bet. I promise. This bet in reality is a bit hard on Coolie as I can pretty much troll the program and point out negative. He's been on defensive for months.

If I was in your mind, I might change habits.

Yeah I remember Zorich, I think he was the MVP of the Orange Bowl too in 1990. What does he have to to do with a player 28 years later? You might as well compare Alex Karras, Rosie Grier and Gino Marchetti to Zorich wgo played 28 years after they were all pros.

What I would like to know or see is proof of a Steeler board in 1990, since internet boards were not available for that type of medium at that time. You've got diarrhea of the mouth with all this BS you are spewing.

just **** yourself already. Pointing out where you are wrong, is not "being on the defensive". Put UH is a Power 5 conference with all the extra cash they get for just being a member and they would compete with anyone. It would take a couple of years to catch the elite schools, but they would be better than 75% of the Power 5 schools quickly

Simply uncalled for.

Someone has really thin skin. I care not for this " extra cash comment " its sour grapes. When you have to start cursing to reply to the points that made, heck yes that I being defensive.

I'm just drawing a comparison between two players who both won defensive awards, were both hyped and had similar stature.

For once you have a point, there was no Steeler message board on the internet, but I assure you on Steelers Digest there was plenty of mail on the topic of drafting Chris Zorich,

I would hope so, I have enough flaws without taking on yours.

Funny, but if people are really offended by tolling type of messages, you should check yourself as its a flaw I'm pretty sure you have

I am never offended by trolling. I just throw it back your way, to give it.... its deserved. My flaws are not internet related.

No worries I check myself just fine.

Sort of like the Heisman. You can draw between comparisons, but it doesn’t mean one iota of anything in regards to the differences between college ball and pro ball. Until there is a appropriate level of material to review at the pro level, there isn’t anything to compare.

“For once I have a point”? You mean, again, you’ve been shown you don’t know what you are talking about.

I was a subscriber to Steelers Digest for 20 years, but I’m not going to go through all those back issues to see if you “assured” us. Why don’t you identify which issue, date, volume and number indicates this.

All you really have to do is look at documented works from Kiper and Bushbaum at that time, in addition to Beano Cook who had inside connections to Notre Dame. He was ESPN’s college football patriarch when he was there at that time.

I feel left out Coolie, I could always use a good *******...

don't ******* care what you think and never have. your ******* points make no sense and you bring up **** that has nothing to do with anything and think it makes you appear smart...but it doesn't

"extra cash" being sour grapes is bullshit just like most of your opinions
