Thank you Mike Tomlin

What's really frustrating is, that in such an important game, the Steelers came out flat as a pancake...again.

How did the other heavy favorites with playoff position on the line do today, you ask?

Patriots crush the Jets.
Chiefs destroy the Raiders (yes, those same Raiders).
Rams beat the 49ers with ease.

Pittsburgh was a two-touchdown favorite at home, and never even had a lead until midway through the fourth quarter, and needed a last-minute field goal by a guy they just signed two days ago to squeak out a win against the Bengals (who were playing with nearly half of their second-string).

Just sad.

I'm tired of hearing his same stupid post game, pre game game, presser ramblings, just further proof he doesn't know ****.
-yes he did win with Cowhers players, he sucks at drafting and coaching so there's no other explanation for him winning then, and not now with his guys.
-drafting/bringing in talent or players that fit. Under Cowher players like Bettis, Farrior, Hartings, Kimo, Clark, Gandy. Faneca(maybe the best guard ever), Ward, Smith(best 3-4 DE we've ever had), Hampton best 3-4 NT we've ever seen, Troy sure fire HOFer, Ben sure fire HOFer, Heath Miller, best TE in franchise history, Holmes Super Bowl MVP. Then you have guys like Ike Taylor, shut down cb for a 4 year stretch on two super bowl teams, Larry Foote starter in both super bowls, Brett Keisel, Deshea Townsend, Willie Parker, Marvel Smith, all big parts of both super bowls.
That's 3 definite HOFer's and one should be drafted (Ward) in a 7 year stretch.
Under Tomlin we've blown 1-3 round picks on Burns, Dupree, Jarvis, Curtis Brown, Ziggy Hood, Sean Davis, Bruce Davis, Worlds, Mendenhall, there wasn't one player from our entire 2009 draft class on our team after the 2013 season or something like that, signed Cortez Allen to a 5 year deal for some reason. We brought in Mitchell, Sean Mahan, Burnett, Bostic.
Bringing in Haden and Big AL were good gets.
Pouncey, Decastro, Heyward, Shazier, Watt are good picks, but it's hard to tell the guys around them are so bad.
Our best defensive unit is our Dline, but instead of maximizing on that talent by getting as many of the on the field as possible, we do the opposite and use only 2, which forces us to use more of our weaker units, makes zero sense.
-dont need to go on about the lack of time management, challenges, or in game adjustments, he sucks at those and there's no arguing that.
- then there's the coming out completely flat vs bad teams, and losing more so than not on the road to them.

The Steelers are the 3rd team to start 7-2-1 or better through 10 games & fail to reach the playoffs since the current playoff format was adopted in 1990.

The other 2 teams were the 1995 Raiders (8-2) and 1993 Dolphins (8-2), who both lost QBs to injury.

This team makes this kind of history yearly now, sometimes weekly.

Yeah, it happens all of the time. Whether it is yards allowed, big plays allowed, lack of turnovers, blown leads, losses to pathetic teams, all kinds of bad records being broken.

It’s clear that the standard is doing the absolute minimum to survive. That has been the overriding M.O. of Tomlin’s teams. He appears to be just as satisfied with a last second win vs a last place team as he is with a blowout.

There seems to be no accountability in level of execution. Just win the game and everything’s fine. The result is a team that plays like **** for large stretches nearly every week, regardless of the level of opponent.

You have a bunch of guys just waiting to “flip the switch” each week and eek out a win. When they win, it’s no big deal. They figured they would. When they lose, it’s no big deal, it was a fluie. They just didn’t flip the switch early enough.

The bengals are a bad team, decimated by injury, you have them at home with the playoff on the line and you don’t curb stomp them? Absolutely ridiculous.

This summed up the whole season. It was essentially a playoff game and not even that was enough to get this team motivated to play their best.

They locked Eifert up so good it was like he wasn't even on the field. Coach of the year here we come.

since the other 2 were due to an injured QB, i would argue the 18 steelers are the worst collapse in NFL history.

I urge all of steeler nation to refer to it as such, particularly when a Tomlin apologist tries to throw out that weak never had a losing season argument.

The collapse of 2009 was pretty ****** 6-2 with a 3 win KC team, a 4 win Raiders team, and a 2 win Cleveland team coming up, we lost to them all, finished 9-7 missed the playoffs

I've said it before if there is a way to be the worst team in 2020 then I'm so for it. Trevor Lawrence is the next great one

6-6, mature beyond his years, smart, incredible work ethic, great vision, super accurate, mobile, cannon arm, and wants to be one of the greatest ever. You won't see him raping pigs in a bathroom after winning a SB. Whoever gets him wins multiple SBs. Greatest high school QB prospect ever and he's in the championship game as a true freshman. Had something like 135 TDs and 1 or 2 INTs in high school or something stupid like that

So I say retire Ben, demand a trade Antonio, and stay on as coach Mike!!!!!!! Let's be the Browns of 2020 !!!

Is that the dude that looks like an ugly chick?

Shove your political **** up your ***. I am as liberal as their is in this country and if I could fire Tomlin and his entire staff minus Munchak tonight it would be done. This isn't about political bullshit, it's about Steeler football and the shape this dumbass coach has put us in. We were relying on the ******* Cleveland Browns to get us into the playoffs. Meanwhile, we were barely able to beat a Bungle team with 18 dudes on injured reserve. So, if you want political garbage maybe Trump could build his stupid wall around Tomlin's house so he can't get to facilities.

While I think Seven is out of line with some of his comments, to pretend that politics has NOTHING to do with Tomlin still being the coach of the Steelers is extremely naive.

Sean Mahan.

Who can forget that debacle?

Remember, Tomlin, familiar with Mahan from his time with the Buccaneers, was the one who pushed the Steelers to sign Mahan in 2007. Things got so bad with Mahan that they had sign Justin Hartwig off the street to replace him.

THAT should have been the warning sign of the incompetence to come with Mike Tomlin.

Under Tomlin, the Steelers show little consistency and underachieve in various capacities virtually every season.

They also cannot build a decent post Polamalu/Taylor/Clark secondary to save their lives and if they were not able to convince Munchack to come aboard, the o-line would probably still be the same weakness it was during Tomlin's first seven seasons or so with the team.

It should be obvious to any objective observer that Mike Tomlin is below the standards of such a storied franchise. How much longer do we need to endure this ****?

Was any Steelers fan even remotely surprised upon reading that?

At least Tomlin barely avoided yesterday adding to his record number of losses in games where favored by 10+ points.

Yeah I'm done too. I look at the time hes been here, "his body of work, if you will". What is left to prove? He's had time to build it. Twice over. This is the results. He won with other players, same Defense and same offense. But now its all changed and we are worse off.
Ben is the reason we compete.
Not Tomlin. There is nothing left to prove.

We barely beat a second string Bungles team at home when we had everything to play for and they had nothing to play for. That's all you need to know about our coaching.
That shouldn't be lost on anyone. In a way it would have been a little embarrassing to have made playoffs yesterday. They lose AB and are essentially crippled against what amounted to a pre season game 4 squad.

maybe we were confused because we couldn't find tyler eifert on the field?

Well, in fairness, the Bengals OC did an amazing job of hiding him in formations and motion. I mean the dude was an invisible killer out there. Did you see the crushing block he threw on Mixon's 41 yard run? No? I rest my case.

I really find it puzzling that ESPN and all of these other network programs talking about coaching changes, and Tomlin isn't even mentioned. There is no one covering his incompetence! No one! I wish the Steelers organization would allow one of us into a post game presser to hold his sorry *** accountable. I can't even listen to his post game cliche' comments to soft ball questions anymore. Makes me sick,

Blame it on the culture we live in these days..

NFL Today crew, with exception of Cowher, absolutely hammered him about clock management, challenges, and player development. The even commented this might be the most talented team ever to not make the playoffs.

Because on the outside they see a team that should've beaten NO and a team that beat NE and think everything is fine, no losing seasons. And we possibly couldn't find a good head coach if he were let go. Oh and it's Bens fault for not throwing for 6000 yards and scoring 35 points per game.

This is exactly how this team shows up every week and if you had to pinpoint a philosophy for Tomlin, this is it. Money post here.
