Yeah baby!

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The economy generated a stronger than expected 263,000 new jobs in April, helping to drive down the unemployment rate to a 49-year low of 3.6%. The increase in new jobs easily topped the 217,000 MarketWatch forecast. The jobless rate slid from 3.8% in March to hit the lowest level since December 1969.

Read an article yesterday about Nadler wanting to put contempt charges on Barr,

Barr also declined to appear for a scheduled hearing last week before Nadler’s committee in a dispute over the format of the panel. On Wednesday, Barr spent hours testifying before the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee. At the same time, Nadler had his members vote to allocate more time for Thursday’s hearing so the lawyers’ questions could be posed.

Then in other 'left coast' news.....

PORTLAND, OR—A breaking news report indicated Friday that local woman Cindy Bryer made it home from the store alive while wearing a "Make America Great Again" ballcap.

Incredulous reporters arrived on the scene to confirm the outlandish news, but it seemed to be true. Bryer didn't have a scratch on her and clearly had been wearing the MAGA hat all day long. She wasn't accosted, insulted, beaten, or killed. She just walked to the store and walked back in broad daylight---in Portland.

"Sometimes, this stuff happens, sadly," a CNN reporter said. "You can't get them all. Once in a while, they slip through the cracks. But don't worry, Cindy: we'll dox you to make sure you get your due."

Bryer had gone into a witness protection program for her own safety at publishing time.

The Donald boots chicomms from Long Beach. No film @11.

This is significant. It shuts down China's biggest base on the west coast.

If you're aware of the LB situation, you may have read that an issue was the chicomms parking their Tsunami subs in Terminal J. One might reasonably ax whyTF chicomm boomers are anywhere near the west coast. Its all part of the Kenyan's work 10 years ago that allowed them to 'buy' the Port of Long Beach. What is significant about having enemy boomers in port? They could devastate the US underneath the Star Wars canopy.

You'd think that would make 'the news'.....................Nah.

Three hearty cheers for The Donald! A lesser president wouldn't have acted so decisively. A lesser president than that wouldn't have known. A lesser president than that would have invited them in in the first place. Three more hearty cheers for The Donald!

Look forward to them being jettisoned from other US ports. But for now, LB is the more significant.

Trump administration forces China to sell the Port of Long Beach
By Chriss Street | May 7, 2019

The Trump Administration's Department of Homeland Security has forced China's state-owned Cosco* to sell the Port of Long Beach over security concerns.

China's Cosco Shipping Holdings, which bought out its 75 percent–owned Hong Kong–based Orient Overseas International (OOCL), was forced to sell its Port of Long Beach Container Terminal ownership to Macquarie Infrastructure Partners for $1.78 billion.

The Obama administration had no problems with OOCL signing a 40-year lease with the City of Long Beach in 2012 for control of America's second largest and most automated container handling operation. The sweetheart deal was part of the "Middle Harbor Redevelopment Program" to fund a $1.5-billion expansion through 2020.

But one of the first major actions of the Trump administration's Department of Homeland Security in March 2017 was issuing a "Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S." national security hold on Cosco's acquisition of a former U.S. Navy port facility.

China operates six of the world's ten busiest container ports. The Chinese government has also funded the construction and operations of 43 ports in 35 countries under its "One Belt and One Road" (OBOR) initiative launched five years ago, according to China's Ministry of Transport.

As part of its efforts to gain asset dominance, China has directed its state-owned companies to exclusively buy products and services from other Chinese state-owned enterprises. As a result, China International Marine Containers Group has become the world's largest maker of shipping containers and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries has gained a 70 percent international market share for port cranes, and now exports to 300 ports in 100 countries.

Under the Macquarie acquisition terms, Orient Overseas International will pocket a $1.29 billion profit and still control vessel and rail traffic at the container facilities for the next twenty years.

We will still be unraveling the subversive deals made by Bathhouse Barry into the next millennium.

Domestic abuse, crime and corruption in one's country is not basis to claim asylum in the United States. Period.

The asylum system was set up to circumvent NORMAL immigration laws in very special cases of persecution of people BY THEIR GOVERNMENT based on "group" ideology (sex, race, religion, et. al.).

I ask all my liberal friends, let's say a black woman in Detroit lives with two small children in the most crime invested hell hole of the city. Her husband beats her and is in a corrupt justice system that is backed up anda put him back on the street. The public schools are trash. There's a person shot every other day. Drugs are everywhere. Access to healthcare is limited at best.

What if this woman packed up here two kids and hitchhiked (or took the ferry) to Canada and asked for asylum based on her "situation"? Would Canadian law allow her to stay, free of charge and relocate her and her family to a Canadian city with province/country benefits (food stamps, health insurance, new school for her kids)?

I'd love to hear what Tibs thinks would happen at the Canadian border (she arrives with no passport, and little to no documentation). And I'd love to hear what Tibs thinks SHOULD happen at the Canadian border.

Now multiply that scenario by 100,000.

The strange greatness of Donald Trump

With the Democrats still trying to throw a Hail-Mueller Pass with time out on the scoreboard and with the economy humming, it’s time to confront the central issue: “Has Donald Trump been an awful, OK, or great president?”

The president, unquestionably, is often appalling in his style. His self-aggrandizing, dreadful treatment of opponents and subordinates, public embrace of homicidal dictators, and rambling speaking style draw a portrait of a leader embarrassing to many Americans. He has been vexing to all sides in Washington. Special counsel Robert Mueller added to this picture in his report on the Russia investigation.

And yet, over his first two years, he has enjoyed remarkable political, diplomatic, policy and leadership success. I personally don’t care for his style of management and governance, but I think there is a case to be made that he has been a great president.

When making the case for Trump, you must start in a defensive hole.

For example, “immoral” often is a tag hung on him. But his proclivities, especially in regard to women, pale in comparison to Jack Kennedy and Bill Clinton, who reportedly turned the White House into a virtual bordello. There is little hint at all of that with the Trump presidency. Similarly, his “immoral” treatment of undocumented immigrants differs little from his predecessors. Finally, he hasn’t blundered into an unnecessary shooting war, which many would find immoral.

In the field of “corruption,” he has been thoroughly investigated and there is nothing to match the smarmy signs of pay-to-play kickbacks alleged in the Clinton State Department.

In the field of “dictatorship,” it’s hard to argue that he has suppressed the free press or public criticism, which has been running wild. He certainly couldn’t match the apparent political weaponization of the IRS, the FBI, the CIA and the Justice Department under Barack Obama or match the numerous contempt of Congress charges against many of those officials. To the contrary, Trump has exerted far less of a direct influence over his agency leaders, who often publicly defy him.

“White nationalist”? Nope. There is every indication that he is trying to be president for all the people. His trade policies are designed to benefit middle class, predominantly union, workers. If anything, they undercut big business off-shoring strategies. In addition, the economic and employment data suggest that he has provided more jobs and income opportunity to African Americans, Hispanics and women than any president over the past 40 years. (The argument that the economic trends are an extension of Obama policies is specious — Obama “bought” his results by eroding the financial stability of the country with a Fed-driven, free money, Ponzi scheme. Trump’s results are real and lasting, based on realistic interest rates, investment and private-sector jobs, the real bases for sustained growth.)

Trump’s awkward attempt to equate the behavior of the white nationalist thugs who precipitated the Charlottesville carnage with the Antifa thugs who came prepared to inflict violence of their own was off the mark, but it is certainly not a strong case for hanging a “racist” or “white nationalist” label on him — “clumsy” is far more accurate. The left’s attempt to conflate his “nationalism” in his protectionist trade policies with racist “white nationalism” is dishonest and twisted logic.

He is divisive. But so is the unprecedented rejection of the 2016 election by the congressional Democrats and the Rise and Resist movement and the endless criticism from the media. Trump has shown remarkable personal strength in standing up to relentless attacks.

Moving from the defensive to the positive side of the balance sheet, despite all of the attacks and resistance, Trump has accomplished more in two years than his four immediate predecessors accomplished in four to eight years.

The economy is in the best shape in modern history. New and better trade agreements have been developed with the major economies. Our defense is much stronger, including a stronger and better funded NATO. Our principal adversaries — Russia, China, Iran, North Korea — are more off-balance than they have been in decades. Each of them is tough and ruthless, but they see in Trump someone who understands them and is equally tough in defending his country. And, with the collapse of ObamaCare, Trump has a huge opportunity to advance an effective, market-based approach to American health care coverage and cost control to help everyone.

Belying the hysteria of the left, all Americans are moving forward; these are not “sad times,” and there is no “crisis.”

This raises the central question to be framed in the next election: What should we demand of our president? If we’re looking for dignity, manners, grace and orderliness, Trump is vulnerable. If we’re looking for strong leadership to provide real opportunity for economic advancement for all Americans and a strong defense of America and its interests, then Trump has a claim to greatness over his current opponents and his predecessors.

The weak field of Democrats presents voters with a virtual Hobson’s choice. It will be interesting to see how they choose.

yeah, they want to impeach him over his conduct during the bullshit investigation that never should have happened. and the vast majority of them see his actions as impeachable but find no wrong with what they did or why they chose to investigate him.

We the peoples are getting used to it by now.

And the Trump haters continue to find themselves in a steaming pile of ****:

You’d think that after decades of watching a once-proud city turn into a hellhole under Democrat leadership, Flint’s residents would at least try a different tune. But no: In 2015 they once again elected a liberal, Karen Weaver, as mayor. Predictably, Weaver has been a vocal anti-Trump critic from the start, while also blaming conservatives at the capitol in Lansing for almost every issue under the sun.

Back in 2017, the liberal mayor slammed President Trump over Puerto Rico hurricane relief and voiced her solidarity with San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz. In a twist of irony, however, both Cruz and Weaver are now facing serious scandals over how they handled their respective emergencies. In both Puerto Rico and Flint, there are signs that corruption and incompetence are rampant … and Trump may end up having the last laugh.

Weaver is now accused of using the Flint water crisis for personal gain by re-directing donations to a political fund she controlled. “Mayor Karen Weaver asked employees to redirect charitable donors to a nonprofit fund she created shortly after taking office in 2015, an ex-city official testified during a federal whistleblower trial in Detroit on Wednesday,” MLive reported.

Pick a city. Any city.

And then there's this. D'ya suppose that they're corralling (that's an insensitive choice of words) illegals into 'sanctuary cities' to shoot fish in barrels? Ohmuhgarsh, that was even more insensitive.

ICE Finds Loophole in Sanctuary City Policy, Plans To Deputize Local Police To Detain Illegals
By Jack Davis | Published May 7, 2019 at 4:58pm

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are working with 11 Florida sheriffs in a pilot project that could allow police agencies to cooperate with ICE — even in so-called sanctuary cities that bar existing levels of collaboration with ICE.

“This is about criminal illegals who are in the jail. So if you are here illegally, and you obey the laws of the state, none of this applies to you. But if you are here in the county illegally, and you commit a crime, and you end up in a county jail or state prison, then we will, as we should, help ICE remove you from the United States,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gaultieri said, according to Spectrum Bay News 9.

ICE said its Warrant Service Office program would train local police and corrections officers to detain individuals already in local jails for up to 48 hours, The Washington Times reported.

Unlike other ICE programs, local police would not need to interview those being held about their citizenship and immigration status.

“The genesis of the WSO program was: How can we offer a cooperative partnership with jurisdictions that reside in states that have local or state policies that limit cooperation with ICE?” said Matthew Bourke, an ICE spokesman, according to a report by The Washington Post.

By requiring one day of training, the new program is less of a burden than ICE’s existing 287(g) program that requires four weeks of training.

Although it is being rolled out in Florida, ICE said it wants to implement the program in any area that wants to participate.

Pinellas County will send 40 deputies for training.

“It is easy to implement, and it is legally unchallengeable,” Gualtieri said.

“While immigration is the responsibility of the federal government, public safety is the responsibility of all law enforcement officers,” Gualtieri said, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The American Civil Liberties Union attacked the project. “This program is just the latest scheme by ICE to enlist local police in its abusive deportation agenda,” said Lorella Praeli, Deputy National Political Director at the ACLU. “ICE is asking local law enforcement to risk violating the Fourth Amendment. We urge local law enforcement to resist this dangerous proposal and stand by their commitment to the communities they serve,” Praeli said.

Gualtieri dared the program’s critics to sue.

“If you’ve got it, bring it. If you ain’t got it, you ain’t bringing it,” he said.

Florida’s legislature has passed an anti-sanctuary city bill, which is awaiting the signature of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Advocates of sanctuary cities say crime reporting could be harmed by cooperating with ICE. Gualtieri, however, does not buy that argument.

“People who are simply here illegally are at the core of the immigration dilemma across this country. But there is no dilemma with people who are here illegally and committing crime. They are criminal illegals who must be removed from this country,” he said.

Advocates of sanctuary cities say crime reporting could be harmed by cooperating with ICE.

And evil aliens could land and take over the earth. And Starbucks could give away their ****. And illegals may actually benefit the United States ... okay, that one is pure crap.

Trump salary

On Friday, the Trump administration released their annual report to Congress on White House Office Personnel It includes the name, status, salary and position title of all 377 White House employees. The report also said that Trump decided not to take a dime of his salary; instead he donated it to an amazing cause. The report also showed that President Trump is far better at saving money. The total annual White House salaries under Trump are $35.8 million vs. $60.9 million under Obama, a savings of $25.1 million. Here are some other key findings: There are 140 fewer employees on White House staff under Trump than under Obama at this point in their respective presidencies. There are only five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. forty-four staffers who served Michelle Obama (FY2009).However, it's what the report said Trump did with this salary that has everyone talking. Instead of taking his salary, Trump donated all $400,000 to the Department of the Interior where it will be used for construction and repair needs at military cemeteries! AMAZING! It's so great to have a President who loves our brave military men and women so much! OH, and where's the media coverage of this? That’s right, they don't cover anything decent that the President does..BUT WE WILL! PLEASE, PASS THIS MESSAGE ON TO ALL YOUR EMAIL PALS AND OTHERS! TOGETHER, WE'LL GET THE MESSAGE OUT
