Well then they're unlike most Dems I know back stateside or here abroad. We're organizing a 4th of July party on Sunday for Americans in town. We do the same on Election Day, for Super Bowls, etc. There will be plenty of American flags and good eatin' for everyone. Conservatives & liberals will be hanging out together, enjoying cold beer, bbq and plenty of laughs. Some Trump supporters may even show up, and they too will be welcomed. I've always been patriotic, living in CA, or here in Budapest, or whether I'm in Rome or Lisbon, Portugal. Doesn't matter where I happen to be, or which party is in power, or who happens to be President, I am proud to be an American. I've worked with plenty of Republicans over the years, got along great. With Trump, yeah, it's a bit different. Something has changed, it lingers in the air like flatulence. But whatever bad feelings I have it has nothing to do with America itself, just the asshat elected to run it for four years.

Pretty sure you don't understand more than half the country are liberals, progressives, Democrats who love this country at least as much as you do. Of course there are those on the fringes who are radicals, anarchists, and the like. Their arms probably don't tire out from waving the American flag as much. You did a lot of heavy lifting putting that post together, I hope it wasn't for my sake. My comment was directed at this board in particular, given the constant personal attacks, not the overall state of media affairs, or how huge, multinational online media companies handle censorship re. youtube videos, FB posts, etc.

Based on the litany of links you posted - mostly from right wing sources - it's clear this is a huge issue for you.

Outside of banning hate speech and threats of violence, I don't think private companies or the government should be stepping in and censoring content at all. Sure, the fake videos and news stories should be deleted, along with pedophilia, that's pretty much it. It doesn't bother me one iota that there's a huge amount of conservative, right wing news and content on the net. Google, twitter, FB etc shouldn't be putting their hands on the scale to curtail political views or content, from either side. Freedom of speech should allow for all types of views and opinions to be freely shared and discussed.

That's my take. If you wanted me to put up a fight on this, sorry to disappoint you.

Know why these reports are not in the NYT, CBS, NBC, WaPo? BECAUSE OF THE ONGOING CENSORSHIP. That's the whole point, isn't it?? Shouldn't the NYT be tearing Facebook and Twitter and YouTube a new ******* for their suppression of political speech?!? But they're not.

Also, I brought facts to the debate. You accused the "right wingers" (me included, I guess) of avoiding fact-based debate and argument. I refuted you and pointed out that the only side suppressing speech is the left wing - your side. You responded and noted (appropriately) that you opposed suppressing political speech. Interesting that before my post, I don't remember you criticizing these government- protected monopolies from censorship.
