The news agency says it got hold of an October 23 deposition by Alan Bender, a Kuwait-born businessman from Canada, testifying in a case against Qatari emir's brother, and verified it with the attorney for the plaintiffs.

According to Bender, he met with three top Qatari officials, including Emir for Security Affairs' secretary, and was told that Omar is "the crown jewel" among US politicians recruited by Qatar.

The three allegedly claimed that Ilhan owed her current position to the Qatari money bankrolling her campaign.

Over the years, I've enjoyed the banter, the clashing of political ideologies, the rare times it stays civil around here. But I've worn out my welcome many times over, I understand that. It's pretty obvious, when after literally every second or third post I'm attacked for being a 'Hungarian Soros troll' - sigh.

I get it, some of you simply can't deal with - gasp - people with opposing views. Thus the personal attacks, the slander, the ridicule. It does get old, for an old dude like myself. Not much fun in that. I believe in America, and the promise of America, and I simply can't accept what is happening with the sugarcoating of Trump's presidency. So I keep coming back, to a slew of insults, to try to engage in conversation with you know-it-alls. It does help - somewhat - to wrap my head around how deeply committed and loyal many of you are to this president. Kind of a Margaret Mead thing, if you will, embedded with the savages. It certainly does keep me entertained, even with all the hate & vitriol floating around.

As I've said many times before, I'm pretty sure I'd get along just fine with most if not all of you, if we ever happened to hang out sometime. As I do with many conservative friends going back decades. Under Trump though, it seems things have been ratcheted-up significantly, as far as the anxiety, antagonism and stress on both sides. We can thank our beloved President for that. Or from your angle, we can thank the MSM and the looney left for bashing Trump 24/7 from the moment he got elected. I think both of those things are true and are not mutually exclusive, as far as the reason we are where we are right now as a nation.

I don’t care about how much a billionaire Who made money through lawful commerce pays in taxes. I would be interested to find out how members of Congress earn over $100 million after serving 10 years in the house of representatives on $174,000 a year salary though.

He gets audited every year if there was something illegal in his taxes we’d know it already.

There is none. It's just something Presidents do, to gain the trust of the electorate. At least those Presidents who are honest and forthright and have nothing to hide.

You know, like Jimmy Carter selling his meager peanut farm, to avoid any notion of not abiding by the emulments clause. Carter was a C+ President at best, but he was honest and honorable and had enough respect for his consitutents to play it straight. Trump has bulldozed and diminished all norms related to the highest office. He has made a mockery of his oath to the Constitution. He's turned the presidency into his personal whorehouse. He does what he wants, says what he wants and leaves a trail of stink in his wake. And for this, the ever-loving Trump base adores and worships him. The more trangressions, the better. DBS threw a bunch of bullshit at the wall, hoping something would stick. I don't recall ever calling anyone here a Nazi, over the years I've posted on the board. There were numerous threads where things got heated, around the time of Charlottesville. You know - when actual far-right Nazis marched on the city streets and ended up murdering an innocent lady that sad afternoon.

I called out Trump for being soft - at best - during that time. I argued vehemently with those who tried to sugarcoat the alt right marching with tiki torches shouting 'Jews will not replace us' by bringing up Antifa and their antics. None of this is right. Antifa also needs to be called out and critizied for their actions. As the saying goes, two wrongs don't make a right.

As far as DBS's ridiculous claim, of course I would only call a true Nazi a Nazi to their face. Someone who clearly holds racist, anti-semitic views. Same goes for this messageboard.

The fact our President didn't take a point-blank, clear-as-day stand against the far-right Nazis on that day, was to nobody's benefit and quite frankly, shocking. At least for those who view America the home of the free and the brave.
