Holy ****, snake oil enemas for everyone!

LOL

Fact: Trump downplayed the virus (See Below)
Fact: Trump made a man, Mick Mulvaney, his chief of staff after Mick said these words, "given the fact that I think he's a terrible human being,"

Phase One: The disease emerges
Dec. 31: China confirms existence of a new virus.

Jan. 20: World Health Organization reports cases in China, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea.

Jan. 21: The first U.S. case is announced in Washington state (as well as Vietnam and Singapore). WHO says the virus risk globally is high.

Jan. 22: A reporter asks if there are worries about a pandemic. Trump responds:

"No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine."

Jan. 24: Trump tweets, "It will all work out well."

Jan 29: The White House forms a coronavirus response task force, initially led by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar.

Jan. 30: Trump blocks travel from China.

The same night, he holds a campaign rally in Iowa.

"We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. ... we think it’s going to have a very good ending for it."

Feb. 2: Trump tells Fox News host Sean Hannity, "We pretty much shut it down coming in from China."

Feb. 4: Diamond Princess cruise ship quarantined in Yokohama, Japan. Over 2,600 guests and over 1,000 crew. Within two days, over 40 people test positive for COVID-19, including eight Americans.

Feb. 11: WHO names the new disease COVID-19.

Feb 14: Trump discusses the "very small" number of U.S. coronavirus cases with Border Patrol Council members:

"We have a very small number of people in the country, right now, with it. It’s like around 12. Many of them are getting better. Some are fully recovered already. So we’re in very good shape."

Feb. 20: WHO reports nearly 77,000 cases worldwide in 27 countries.

Feb. 24: Stock market plummets as Dow Jones Industrials falls more than 1,000 points.

The same day, Trump asks for $1.25 billion in emergency aid. It grows to $8.3 billion in Congress. He tweets that the virus "is very much under control" and the stock market "starting to look very good to me!"

Feb. 26: The first case emerges in California with no clear source, suggesting community spread of the virus.

In a news conference that day, Trump says the United States is "really prepared." He puts Vice President Mike Pence in charge of the White House task force.

Feb. 28: Cases rise across Europe, including Italy, Germany, France, England, Switzerland and Belarus.

Is this clear?

What the **** is this ****?

The fabric is already tearing.

Trump signs executive order to support moon mining, tap asteroid resources

President Donald Trump signed an executive order today (April 6) establishing U.S. policy on the exploitation of off-Earth resources. That policy stresses that the current regulatory regime — notably, the 1967 Outer Space Treaty — allows the use of such resources.

The executive order, called "Encouraging International Support for the Recovery and Use of Space Resources," has been in the works for about a year, a senior administration official said during a teleconference with reporters today. The order was prompted, at least in part, by a desire to clarify the United States' position as it negotiates with international partners to help advance NASA's Artemis program for crewed lunar exploration, the official added. (Engagement with international partners remains important, the official said.)

My wife is a physical therapist but she has been working at a screening station for two weeks. Scares the crap outta me. The stories of stupidity she encounters are depressing.

I've mentioned that my daughter is an ICU RN, the first 2 positive cases she encountered were husband and wife, the husband refused to cover his mouth when coughing or sneezing. These are the ******** that hospitals are dealing with.

All they’re saying here is 16 confirmed cases in the county. I’m not even sure what city or community.

Sent from my iPhone using Steeler Nation mobile app

Yep, I live in Maricopa county, Phoenix, but have a place in a really small community just south of Flagstaff. Now lots of cases are a given in Phoenix, but there are also cases in my little mountain town. They won't say how many, or how it was contracted, only that the local fire department is restricting entrance to their facility.

Exactly, Zona. I know everything is crazy but a guy my wife works with, the "swab guy", actually got hit on last week,,,by a couple of swingers. Freaking bizarre.

This is interesting. Don't care for the **** all over the video, but listen to what Fauci said in 2017. Odd?

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/C95ECjxgcJE" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

During a forum on pandemic preparedness at Georgetown in 2017, Fauci said the Trump administration will not only be challenged by ongoing global health threats such as influenza and HIV, but also a surprise disease outbreak.

“The history of the last 32 years that I have been the director of the NIAID will tell the next administration that there is no doubt they will be faced with the challenges their predecessors were faced with,” he said.

The other 600 rational posters here who make sense take offense to that comment.

Now watching the three of you locked in a room together? I'd get rich selling tickets for that.

The cure is worse than the virus itself. 13% unemployment already???

------------------------

Janet Yellen: Unemployment is Likely Around 13% Right Now

Former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen estimated Monday that the unemployment rate would probably be as high as 12 to 13 percent if we had a real-time gauge for joblessness.

Yellen also said that the economy will probably contract around 30 percent because of the coronavirus and related measures that have shut down large segments of the economy in pursuit of social distancing the control the spread of the disease.

Yellen described the recent reports of initial claims for unemployment benefits, amounting to around 10 million in the past two weeks, as “absolutely shocking.” Claims for unemployment benefits are one of the few ‘real time’ pieces of data the government produces on the economy, showing new claims for the prior weeks. Most other data require weeks or months to be put together.

“If we had a timely unemployment measure, probably the unemployment rate would be 12 or 13 percent at this point. And moving higher,” Yellen said Monday morning in an interview on CNBC.

Yellen said that the economy would likely decline by “at least 30 percent” in the second quarter, an estimate in line with what economists at many banks and other economic forecasters have recently predicted.

“This is a huge, unprecedented, devastating hit,” Yellen said. “My hope is that we will get back to business as quickly as possible.”

Tibs is probably trying his best to salvage what is left of his family business. I hope things turn out well for him.

IMHE model used by Birx and Fauci just cut their numbers by half

The government models used to predict the extent of the coronavirus pandemic are off by huge margins in the latest coronavirus tracking numbers. The government predictions reported by the IMHE Covid Tracking (https://covidtracking.com/data/ ) for Apr 5th were as follows:

– All beds needed: 179,267
– ICU beds needed: 33,176
– Invasive ventilators: 26,544

Those were the predictions.

The actual numbers as recorded at The Covid Tracking Project:

– Actual hospitalizations: 22,158
– In ICU: 5,207
– On ventilator: 656

The actual numbers show:

Via Dr. Ned Nikolov.

– Overestimation of hospitalizations: 8 times
– Overestimation of of ICU beds needed: 6.4 times
– Overestimation of ventilators needed: 40.5 times

So overnight the IMHE — the official group Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx have been promoting cut their numbers by more than half!
Here is what the IMHE NOW HAS for April 5th:

– All beds needed: Was 179,267 … Now is 90,353
– ICU beds needed: Was 33,176 … Now is 17,589
– Invasive ventilators: Was 26,544 … Now is 14,951

Back to this ****.

I went eenie, meenie, miney, moe, and picked one...

"We have a very small number of people in the country, right now, with it. It’s like around 12. Many of them are getting better. Some are fully recovered already. So we’re in very good shape."

This was on Feb 14. Trump said we had 12 cases. As recent as Feb 29 the US had 69 cases, so yeah Trump was probably in the ballpark..
You people need to understand that Trump can only go by what he is told. In late January Dr. Fauci himself said that we'll be fine. America has nothing to worry about. Trump could only go with that. And he did.

Which brings us to the rest of that quote.
You people need to understand that there is downplaying then there is optimism.
Optimism is having confidence in the successful outcome of something. Downplaying is making something appear less important than it really is.

Sure you can interpret that quote either way, but how the **** do you libs know how he was thinking? One thing we all know that Trump is highly optimistic about everything, "everything is gonna turn out great as long as he is president". This virus isn't gonna change who he is. His approach to it is the same.

What possible advantage is it for him to downplay the virus knowing the severity of it? Nothing. Can any of you libtards think of a reason? On Feb 14 he called it as he saw it when he said "we are in good shape".
*******.
