They still have some dirty old man with dementia and a stinky finger.

Whaaaat? Are you questioning the mental acuity and digit aroma of this genius?

Goddammit, never mind.

You might want to tune into reality, Tim. Trump is going to sign an executive order compelling meat processors to stay open. Guess he doesn’t understand the economics?

LMAO....

What does signing the DPA have to do with the fact that the LOCKDOWN has impacted the food supply chain, a claim you make cannot possibly be at all true?

I'll re-quote Steeltime. Pray tell answer his questions:

If, as you apparently claim (repeatedly), there is no break in the supply chain for meat, and that meat processing is closed solely due to so many employees being sick, then (1) why would Trump issue an order that the plants stay open and (2) what the **** good would an executive order do to make sick employees better?

Alternatively if, as TSF and I have argued, the plant shutdowns are a break in the supply chain related (not completely, dude - RELATED) to Chinese flu lockdowns, then an executive order could fix that by making the meat processing plants an essential job and mitigating the lockdown.

Right?

Alternatively, I'm waiting on you to prove the facts I've laid out aren't indeed facts or aren't indeed happening. I'll wait.

Disprove that a percentage of the population can't get to work because of childcare concerns, fear, or being high risk and therefore can't work.
Prove that fewer workers doesn't negatively affect the ability to produce/package/distribute food
Prove that the lockdown fears did not lead to a massive rush on food and supplies
Prove that regulations have not forced food processing plants to space out workers at least 6 feet causing an impact on their ability to produce at previous levels
Prove that restaurants all closing has not changed the nature of food demand.
Prove there has not been an increase in need for family portions and a disappearance of big boxes of food for restaurants
Prove that food processing plants don't have different types of machinery for different types of food packaging that must be retooled
Prove that logistics hasn't been severely challenged due to the lockdown with fewer workers
Prove the restaurant industry hasn't lost $30BILLION because people aren't allowed to dine in and that this hasn't affected the food supply chain.

Pfft, what about this?

Working families are at risk of bearing more of the brunt of the fallout from the coronavirus epidemic as school closings threaten to upend daily life.

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/co...hen-coronavirus-closes-local-schools-n1150671

The unprecedented series of steps by school systems to cancel classes and move classes online has parents scrambling for child care options.

https://wtop.com/coronavirus/2020/0...en-school-closures-make-childcare-a-priority/

Okay, **** that point. On Flog's behalf, I punt. But, but, but ... what about THIS?!?

Tim Steelersfan said:

Hah, got you here!! LOOK:

Anderson said empty shelves at grocers and retailers are a result of distribution, not low supplies. Production of products like ground beef and milk is the same, but unexpected demand has strained the logistical farm-to-market process.

Anxiety has stirred panic-buying, as seen with meat products and household items like toilet paper, he said.

https://agrilifetoday.tamu.edu/2020/04/11/meat-and-milk-producers-impacted-by-covid-19/

Oh, **** that story. What would "AgriLife Today" know about agriculture and life?!?

Also from that article, this devastating rebuttal to your "COVID ****** up the supply chain for meat, dairy" argument:

Disruptions to the nation’s supply chain and final destinations for meat and milk products due to COVID-19 are causing anxiety from farms to markets, said a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.

David Anderson, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension economist, College Station, said the nation’s food supply chain, the most efficient and reliable farm-to-market system in the world, is dealing with unprecedented disruptions and uncertainty.

https://agrilifetoday.tamu.edu/2020/04/11/meat-and-milk-producers-impacted-by-covid-19/

GOD.
DAMN.
IT.

Ignore the story from a paper specializing in agriculture. I SAID IGNORE IT!

Because now, hoo-boy, now I have you about this:

Tim Steelersfan said:

About a quarter of U.S. beef and pork production has been affected by slaughterhouse closures and slowed processing speeds, said Christine McCracken, animal protein analyst at Rabobank, an agricultural lender. Some factories have reduced capacity because of worker absenteeism or to create distance between workers on crowded production lines.

Motherfu ... Okay, Flog and I may have to concede a couple of points here. But not this point, bay-be, not THIS ONE!!

Tim Steelersfan said:
Prove there has not been an increase in need for family portions and a disappearance of big boxes of food for restaurants.

Hah, look at what the true facts show!!

The sudden shift from restaurant dining to at-home eating, coupled with panic buying at grocery stores, is causing major disruption in the manufacturing, distribution and sales of food products. Dairy farmers are dumping excess raw milk, while meat companies are scrambling to meet demand.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...ng-chicken-shortage-meat-covid-19/2990212001/

Damn it. Google has been hacked by conservatives, spreading fear-mongering among food shortage advocates. It's all a plot. But that does not stop Flog and me from finishing with a devastating attack on this, THIS, point!!

Tim Steelersfan said:
Prove the restaurant industry hasn't lost $30 BILLION because people aren't allowed to dine in and that this hasn't affected the food supply chain.

Restaurants reported $30 billion in losses in March, a projected $50 billion in losses in April, and are teeing up for a $240 billion Covid-19-related loss nationwide by the end of the year. Prior to Covid-19, the industry had been projecting $899 billion in sales this year, with 15.6 million employees, the association said.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/20/cor...ribe-huge-shortfalls-with-government-aid.html

HAH, success!! The loss of restaurant business is not $30 billion, *****, and instead it's probably $80 billion by now.

And how could an $80 ******* billion dollar loss in restaurant sales adversely affect the food chain? Huh, how?

Yep. Game, set, match.

I'll send you a bill for my work, Flog.

Every antibody study - every single one - has shown that 10x as many people had the virus as have been reported as being "diagnosed." No different than the flu, really, where 30 million in America get the virus but only 3 million go to the hospital for it or are "diagnosed" with the flu.

That would mean that in America, at least 10,000,000 have had the virus and 58,000 died, a mortality rate of 0.6%. Definitely worse than the flu, but nowhere close to the doomsday projection of 4% or 5% mortality.

Worldwide, that would mean that approximately 31.2 million have had the virus and 216,508 died, for a mortality rate of 0.7%. Again, worse than the flu, no doubt.

But 5% mortality? Get the **** out.

I mean it, go, get outside. **** the lockdown.

What is wrong with you???? Everyone knows antibodies don't work against the Rona. Jeez, step in line here.

Wow.

YouTube removed the viral video of frontline doctors calling for an end to quarantine and comparing COVID-19 to the flu

'Violating YouTube's Terms of Service'

Last week, two frontline doctors who said they have administered more than 5,000 coronavirus tests, made headlines when they compared the coronavirus to the seasonal flu and called for an end to quarantine practices.

The two physicians, Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi of Accelerated Urgent Care in Bakersfield, California, presented their medical advice in a video briefing with KERO-TV that the news outlet then uploaded to YouTube. The video quickly went viral, garnering more than 5.46 million views.

But on Monday, the video was taken down for "violating YouTube's Terms of Service."

In a follow-up report, KERO-TV confirmed that the first of two videos playing the press briefing in full was removed. The news outlet submitted an appeal to YouTube about the removal, but has not yet heard back.

In a statement to the outlet following the video's removal, Dr. Erickson said, "Anytime you push against the grain, you are going to have people who don't like it."

TheBlaze reached out to YouTube's press division for a more specific answer on why the video was taken down, but YouTube did not immediately respond.

Interestingly, Erickson and Massihi spoke to Fox News host Laura Ingraham Monday evening just before the video was removed. After the interview, when Ingraham discovered the video had been taken down, she noted relevant comments regarding censorship that YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki had recently made.

"Anything that would go against World Health Organization recommendations would be a violation of our policy ... [removal] is another really important part of of our policy," Wojcicki reportedly said.

I posted this yesterday I think. I found it on duckduckgo.

2 million chickens being killed because processing plants are short-staffed

The coronavirus is having an impact on farmers and our food supply in more ways than one.

With not enough people to process the chicken because of COVID-19 restrictions, poultry farmers are being forced to euthanize their stock.

About 2 million chickens in Delaware and Maryland are being humanely killed because chicken processing plants are short-staffed.

The manpower shortage at chicken processing plants is because of community cases of COVID-19 and social distancing.

Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. says it investigated several options, and could not find a better solution.

In a statement obtained by CNN, the Maryland Department of Agriculture says it learned of the company's plans on April 9 and "continues to monitor for any developments."

The department went on to say that it will not be involved in the "depopulation," because it's not in response to animal health concerns.

CNN also reached out to the Delaware Department of Agriculture but had not yet received a response as of Monday morning.

So wait a DAMNED MINUTE.

I was told...TOLD...that food processing and meat plants were closing ONLY because people get sick and they have to close down.

So you're saying....and ABC news reports...that....employee shortfalls due to social distancing.....may be causing them not to be able to produce?

In fairness, it’s not ONLY because of social distancing.

I bet they put it back. The article said the station that posted it was inquiring. I tried 2-3 times earlier and it gave the doesnt meet our guidelines BS.

I was week off, but I told you that people were going to rebel. It has started.
**** the man.

In fairness, it’s not ONLY because of social distancing.

No one is saying it is.

Our resident Trogolodyte is saying that ALL food plant closings are 100% due to people getting sick. Our food supply chain issues are 100% due to people who get sick. Nothing more.

That....isn't so.

Exactly. Now this fucknut wont learn a lesson at all and will continue to do this ****. From the looks of it, he’s escalating. Is it gonna take him killing someone to make the system wake the **** up?

That yougnin' is long overdue for an adult lesson in respect for other peoples property.

D.A. warns public of 7 ‘high-risk’ sex offenders released in California amid coronavirus pandemic

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (KTLA) — Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer on Tuesday issued a warning to residents after seven registered sex offenders who he said were “high-risk” were recently released from custody early, amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Read more on KTLA.com

Spitzer said the convicted men spent “just days” in jail instead of the six months required by law for those registered as sex offenders.

The men apparently had also been charged with cutting off their GPS monitors or tampering with their tracking devices.

They were released on April 7 as a result of rulings by appointed Court Commissioner Joseph Dane, Spitzer said.

The DA called the men “the most dangerous kind of criminal and the most likely to reoffend.”

“These are not the kind of people who should be getting a break,” he said.

Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes announced Tuesday that the jail population in the county has been reduced by nearly 45% since March 7.

After additional steps were taken to make sure inmates were safe during the crisis, Barnes said overcrowding is not an issue, according to Spitzer.

“It is not the court’s responsibility to control the jail population by releasing these dangerous criminals back into our communities,” the DA said. “The residents of Orange County deserve to have the peace of mind that registered sex offenders are being held accountable and not just let out the front door of a jail by a court commissioner who refuses to follow the law.”

Spitzer called the decision to release the inmates “dangerous” and vowed that his office will not appear in front of Dane on parole violations involving registered sex offenders.

Both Spitzer and Barnes have also expressed frustration over a statewide order that bail be reduced to zero for many offenders.

The inmates who were released are:

  • Luis Joel Ramirez, 27. Ramirez was last known to have lived in Costa Mesa. According to the DA’s office, his criminal history includes sexual battery, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting a peace officer, burglary and possessing of a leaded cane, a deadly weapon. He was released on April 7 after serving 20 days on a parole violation for cutting off his GPS, then released again on April 24 after serving 16 days on a parole violation for failing to report, the DA’s office said.
  • James Franklin Bowling, 50. Bowling last lived in Orange and his criminal history includes lewd conduct in a public place, repeated convictions for failing to register as a sex offender, repeated convictions for sex offender on school grounds and possession of controlled substance and paraphernalia, officials said. Bowling had two parole violations since February and was released on April 9 after serving 14 days on a parole violation for failing to charge his GPS monitoring device. He was ordered to report to parole but “does not report,” the DA’s office said.
  • Rudy William Grajeda Magdaleno, 39. Magdaleno last lived in Anaheim. His criminal history includes child molestation, indecent exposure, assault, battery, criminal threats and inflicting injury on an adult, officials said. He has had five parole violations since 2017. He was released on April 13 after servicing 142 days on a parole violation for failing to charge his GPS monitoring device. He was ordered to report but he “does not report,” officials said.
  • Calvin Curtis Coleman, 52. Coleman last lived in Santa Ana and his criminal history includes lewd conduct in a public place, officials said. He has had three parole violations since 2019 and was released on April 13 after serving 18 days on a parole violation after failing to charge his GPS monitoring device. He was ordered to report to parole.
  • Kyle Albert Winton, 40. Winton last lived in Mission Viejo and his criminal history includes annoying or molesting a child, criminal threats to cause great bodily injury or death, resisting a peace officer and DUI and hit and run with property damage, officials said. He has one parole violation and was released in April after serving 10 days on a parole violation for failing to charge his GPS. He was ordered to report to parole, but he “does not report,” officials said.
  • Jose Adrian Oregel, 46. Oregel last lived in Santa Ana and his criminal history includes unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation of a person under the age of 18 and causing great bodily injury. He was described by the DA’s office as a second striker. He was released on April 22 after serving 18 days for failing to charge his GPS device. He was ordered to report to parole.
  • Mario Ernesto Sandoval, 45. Sandoval was last known to live in Stanton and his criminal history includes sexual battery, touching for sexual arousal, indecent exposure, assault on a peace officer and assault, officials said. He has had one parole violation in 2020. Officials said he failed to charge his GPS device and was unaccounted for for one-third of the time he was out of custody. He was released on April 22 after serving 16 days on a parole violation for failing to report to charge his GPS device. He was ordered to report to parole.
