The Coronavirus thread

Deaths in the country are down as of yesterday. We will see if the trend continues. If the opening in states phasing business back in don't go up in 2-3 weeks, then we are good to go.

**** this welfare state we are in right now. People need to work and we need to get this economy going.

Well not early on based on my experience. There are two parts to this, the early part and where we are now. In those first two months testing wasn’t as available as it is now and on top of that results sometime took 7-10 plus days pending on county you were in. So if a patient died without a test being done, it was listed as COVID as reasonable cause. Regardless of whatever other health issues they had. Could it have been, sure...could it been something else...yes.

This is true, but we don't even know when the "first months" were. With your logic many could have died from virus corona and been labeled as flu or pneumonia. The fact is we just don't know.

Here in south-central PA businesses are saying screw it and opening up. Lots of restaurants were open to the public yesterday. Took the Mrs out for dinner last night for the first time in almost a couple months( Place was packed). The Mayor of our town is trying to get the dirt track open for Sprint car racing by next weekend. **** Wolf.

Wolf held a presser today, and said that he will be withholding funds to counties that are opening up without his blessing. I am not sure of the details.

How many times do these idiots have to lose in court before they grasp the concept that they are over stepping their boundaries set up by the federal and state constitutions? Any time a Gov. is found to be operating outside of the law, any legal expenses should have to be paid for by the Governor himself and not the taxpayers.

The scary thing is, (D)ims have already planted the seed for getting people dependent on the government and now they want to drag this thing out to keep them sucking from the government teet. Anything to maintain power and control over the people. It's disgusting but there may be some casualties. Like Booted already said, the way things are for a lot of hard-working Americans right now are bleak simply because of the government/powers that be and through absolutely no fault of their own.

That's a scary scenario.

While I agree with pretty much everything you said here, Governors (perhaps depending on the state) unfortunately have executive order powers and can also have a pretty sizable role in certain legislative powers. Even though I thought that making law was the legislative branch of our government.

they should just declare COVID sanctuary. If you declare sanctuary you get to ignore laws and funding can’t be withheld. That’s what we’re told.

I wouldn't doubt it one bit given all the **** that's now coming out from China.

Never, ever forget that China banned travel from Wuhan to other cities in China, but allowed travel out of Wuhan and to other nations. The evidence shows that China intentionally spread the disease to the rest of the world, panicked that it was going to be the only nation to suffer significantly from the disease and its already faltering economy was going to be dealt a massive setback.

They are 100% confident that China altered the data, the statistics. They did a lot of things to contain the information. Meanwhile, they cut down – as you mentioned – travel from Wuhan internally, but left the international flights going and that’s obviously how you have a spread like this.

Now, critics have also suggested that China is partly to blame for the virus spreading globally because it continued to allow flights to Hubei for its own interests – while taking greater action to stop the spread within China.

Ferguson’s accusations refer to China continuing to allow international travel long past January 23, the date when it imposed serious restrictions on travel within China in an attempt to quarantine Wuhan from the rest of the country.

Niall Ferguson's latest column notes that on Jan. 23 the Chinese cut off Hubei province from the rest of China -- but they didn't cut it off from the rest of the world. Direct flights out continued. Trump's travel restrictions kicked in only a week later. pic.twitter.com/8a2FV0oxri

China almost certainly developed the virus in a lab, ****** up and allowed the virus to escape from the lab, destroyed evidence about the virus and its origins, knew the effect of the virus on the susceptible, lied repeatedly about the virus, and allowed the virus - indeed ENCOURAGED the virus - to spread to other nations.

Like when you pointed out that the experts were wrong about 100-200k deaths with mitigation? You still right about that, Tim? Your President says it will go away without a virus, is he right about that? More edumacation please!

The number of deaths due to Covid right now in the United States is 49,867, so yes - the 100,000 to 200,000 estimates were too high.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

Your schtick is to attribute all deaths where the decedent had Covid to the virus. But the actual number of Covid deaths is not the same as the number of people who had Covid who died.

For **** sake, if you think simply having the virus means death for any reason is "Covid related," then the ******* virus has a 100% mortality rate since I'm pretty sure that every person who ever had the virus will eventually die.

In every single area that has any quantity of coronavirus deaths, the AVERAGE aga of death is over 80... average... so for every 70 year old a 90 year old has to die... the vast majority of deaths under 70 are terminal patients anyhow...

Open it up wide... it is just the same general target group as the flu.. as everyone predicted from the getgo

You crazy, man.

Before the Chinese flu, nobody died!! All deaths are due to the Chinese flu.

Solution: Lock yourself in the basement for six years. Oh, after six years the virus will still be here, but won't get 'ya, because you will have outsmarted a disease that somehow came from a lizard in a fish market and is hundreds of times more deadly than the black plague melded with the Spanish flu, Ebola and AIDS.

Outsmart how? You starved yourself to death, became more dessicated than King Tut, and denied that ******* virus any medium to survive!!

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo calling Covid-19 the "European Virus"? Whiskey tango foxtrot?

It explicitly states that the data is 1 - 2 weeks behind.

I can't see the point of that stupid plan. There aren't enough people working right now to pay for any of that bullshit. It's why we are inflating the debt exponentially right now. Unless their plan is to crash the whole damn system to where we become 1990's Russia. That's the only place I see us heading with the status quo.

Schools are going to suffer. The public ones are funded by State income tax, and property tax. When unemployment is so high and foreclosures are bound to be high soon, schools will struggle.

See? I am down with the struggle.

Due to the stay-at-home order, “We have enough business owners that are going under, and they want their constitutional right to face their accuser,” Marshall said in an interview at Saturday’s rally.
