The Coronavirus thread

I'm not going to pretend to know a single thing about Richard Rose, how he contracted Covid-19 and ultimately died, but are people really going to just assume that he got it simply because he didn't wear a mask? If this virus can live on surfaces for 2 days or more, can you imagine all the currency that's being circulated that has this **** on it? And If we touch our face hundreds (if not thousands) of times per day and can get it via eye mucosa, a mask ain't doing ****. And I'm reading comments that he was healthy and in his 30s. I'm sorry but looking at this picture of him, he did not look healthy and looks like he was in his mid-forties IMO.

I'm really not trying to **** on the man (may he rest in peace), and it sounds like he was one hell of a good guy, but he looks pretty significantly overweight and just doesn't look healthy to me. Maybe he had undiagnosed diabetes that contributed to him going so quickly? And I also read that he was only given an inhaler from doctors. Really? If he was that sick that he only had days before passing since being diagnosed, why was he not hospitalized or given a hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin & zinc treatment at least? Or any other treatment?

Sad situation all around.

Some of the stuff we've done certainly seems a bit arbitrary. I guess sometime yesterday the governor issued an executive order that goes into effect Monday that

1. Requires any business that is open to the public to refuse entry or service to people who refuse to wear a face covering, with limited exceptions.
2. Requires the use of face coverings in crowded outdoor spaces.
3. Reiterates that individuals are required to wear a face covering whenever they are in an indoor public space.

There wasn't much detail provided regarding enforcement, but it appears the first line of enforcement is the business & their employees. Willful disregard by either businesses or customers is a misdemeanor that carries a $500 fine.
 
Saw an interesting comment elsewhere I felt was worth sharing:

Yep I'm in Oregon and there are no signs in Spanish. But Spanish speakers are starting to settle in now since it's a sanctuary state. I saw two yesterday at the supermarket that got as far as the front door. Then they were turned around and had to head back to their car to get face coverings. One guy was lucky and found one laying in the parking lot (don't think I would have worn it).

I was in Cottage Grove, Eugene, and Bend. The only time I saw any Spanish speaking people was in July 4th in a grocery store. I did see a bunch of man-bun metrosexuals though...lol.

Yeah come to Oregon the home of the man bun LOL. Here in Grants Pass the Spanish speakers roughly make up about 10% of the population. Then there's those that are just passing through town with their load of meth and heroin on their way north.

Another 10k on the rona pile today. 254,000. Florida. I have a elderly client going in to mayo tomorrow who will see if he can get me the hookup on antibodies testing. I need to get the show back on the road or get a full biomask..whatever works.

It’s a waste. It’s not proven nor any where near accurate. I wanted one after I was sick. My doc said nope. Waste of time until there is approved test. Save your loot imo.
 
Went to Wal Mart today. Now they have only ONE door for entering and ONE for exit. The other set of doors is closed off for EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY. What sense does that make? Funneling everyone out of ONE DOOR in an emergency while we are supposed to social distance everywhere? This is due to the mask mandate- one of the new rules businesses have to follow. Can anyone explain this to me?

Guessing they are counting the number entering and exiting, to keep the numbers in the store down to a prescribed level. Home Depot was doing that out here for a while.

They monitor the number of people here. But it’s never been relegated to just ONE exit when there are at least 2 exits and entrances to the building. That’s what I don’t get. It used to be that each set of doors was one way- with 2 entrances and 2 exits. Still monitored for people. Now it’s just one entrance and exit.

They have that stuff in the Wal-Mart here too. Must be their nationwide policy. That place totally creeps me out now.
 
Our Walmart did that a long time ago then we went green and you could use all doors. I havent been there in like a week so I am not sure what they are doing now

There are now some experts saying that many people may have T-cell immunity that has fought off the infection.........meaning that no antibodies were created. Therefore, you may have had the infection that the current antibody tests would not pick up.
 
Here’s something else that makes no sense. Fitting rooms are closed. And most stores aren’t letting you do returns. So how in the hell are you supposed to know if something fits?
