Everyone can blame Ben, Randy, or whoever,

Yep the TD was on a rope. Everyone focusing on that 2nd int, he was about to get hit and couldn't step into the throw.
Get your eyes checked then. Did you not see his first TD pass tonight? Or is the INT the only thing you saw?

Sure, let’s ignore the facts. In 2018 we had a massive meltdown by AB. Bell sat out the season, and you had Harrison stirring the pot from within. Disappointing end to what had been a promising season. Tomlin dealt with it. That’s all you can ask a coach to do. These are grown men. He doesn’t control them.

In 2019, Ben (the person everyone says is the sole reason for our success). We’re playing with our 2nd and 3rd string QB. Tomlin basically creates something out of nothing, has us in contention going down the stretch, but it’s unsustainable. Still a remarkable record given the situation. Most outside of Pittsburgh say it was his best performance. Folks think Tomlin should have taken us to the SB anyway.

In 2020, he has us at 11-0, but the injury bug bites, and we half of our defensive front. We lose two games (still in contention for a strong playoff run I might add) and we should fire him. I’ll admit our running game has been for **** and our receivers have suddenly picked up a case of the dropseys. Oh, and let’s not forget COVID.

I get it, folks here think we should go to the SB every year, but that’s not reality. You put your best foot forward and hope for the best. This year, I think we peaked too soon, and now injuries are causing us to limp down the stretch. I haven’t totally given up hope, but we’re not the front runner we were in October.

Can you name one thing Tomlin has done wrong? Fichtner is Tomlins puppet, you think he doesn't have any say in whats going on?

Named more than a few things Tomlin has done wrong over the years (and recently). I'm not "All In For Tomlin" so that I don't see he makes mistakes. But, if I think a player is making mistakes, injured, not playing up to par, I'll call that out too. Take DeCastro for instance. I think and thought he was still playing injured when he came back. He wasn't pulling as much as in the past (still isn't) and wasn't moving people in the run game (only marginally better recently). Feiler at Guard has also been hit or miss each week. Dotson needed to be inserted earlier (and not because of injury). You know who I blame for Dotson not being inserted? HCMT ... his call ultimately.

Yeah, mammoth 19 yard TD pass down the middle of the field. What the hell does that prove? He hasn't hit deep down the sideline since the start of the season.

Lol clearly, you know nothing about football. To throw a ball in a tight window like he did, you need a damn good arm. Any other questions?

Oline is bad, I totally agree. But we've seen Ebron avoid blocks a couple times this season. If you know and know the line is struggling, Tomlin has to, but we haven't seen an attempt to max protect to help them and allow Ben a little more time. We just add more pass catchers and throw it quicker.
I dont expect Tomlin to make guys that aren't that good suddenly play good, but at least try something. Try sitting ebron, use Vance and Conner as extra blocking help to give Ben more time to throw downfield. Let Conner stay into block, then he can leak out for a dump off.

hard to criticize Ben too much for lack of deep ball success when the deep passing game consists almost entirely of Ben throwing up a jump ball to Claypool down the right side when he's not even open. The Claypool doesn't make the play on the ball and occasionally get a PI call. That's the deep passing game now, hoping Claypool draws a penalty.

I'd be more concerned about Ben if he was missing open guys downfield. Let me know when there's an open guy.

That's what kills me, I watch games all Sunday and theres guys wide open on plays several times in each game, our wrs are never open like that.

Exactly this. This team just throws talent at the wall and hopes it sticks. We never out-scheme anyone. Mahomes is a great QB, but he is often throwing to WRs with nobody within 10 yards of them. Put on Red Zone and you'll see it repeatedly all Sunday, even from ****** teams. When was the last time you remember that happening for us?

It's ******* unfathomable to me the amount of credit and excuses are made for this coaching staff every year when we generally have a more talented roster than 90% of the league. A HoF QB and a top 5-10 D should be enough for a ******* SB berth in the last decade and that's not to mention the loaded offense we've had for most of that period as well. Missing the playoffs with this team, save for last year, is honestly disgusting. One AFCCG, 3 one-and-dones (including a blowout against BLAKE BORTLES and a loss to Tebow), and only 3 playoff wins with this team is absolutely having wasted Ben's final 2/3 of his career. Our 3 wins include a gift from the Bengals when they had the game won, a gimme against Matt Moore, and the Ice Bowl against game manager Alex Smith. How can anyone look at the past decade and pat Tomlin on the back, let alone jerk him right off into Canton?

Here is what Tomlin said. Makes it seem like its his idea to use the 3yrd passing attack.

"Coach Mike Tomlin said, explaining why the Steelers didn't stretch the field more. "The more snaps you get, the more opportunities you get to make some of the dynamic plays you suggested. It starts first with staying on schedule and possessing the ball, and we are not doing enough of that right now. That makes some of the other discussions more troublesome."

Maybe at least trying to stretch the field would lead to being able to possess the ball better??

You do a lot of blaming Tomlin and exonerating everyone else. Just an observation. Can you name one thing, just one, that Ben has done wrong? 'Cause I can name a few.

The life of a coaching staff. When you win, it's all the players and when you lose it's all coaching, lol.

For goodness sake, we are still 11-2 and have clinched a playoff spot.

We have a boatload of injuries. Our linebacking corp has been decimated.

I am amazed that Big Ben at 38 is still playing strong despite the serious arm injury.

The serious contenders are playing stronger now but have ANY of them faced what the Steelers have faced the last few weeks and all season for that matter?

The debacle with the Titans?

The HORRIBLE decision by the NFL about the Ravens game?

Loss of key players?

Look we are hurting right now and if the playoffs were to start next week we would be an underdog to any other contender and rightfully so.

However, I have hope that with the tough games ahead, INCLUDING Cincy (they are a rival that gives us fits) we can prevail.

Indy is always tough.

Cleveland wants revenge and is really peaking.

Remember that the Steelers were not picked to win the division and at most would be a wild card team and that was before the injury bug.

We need to hunker down this week and try to figure out how to eek out a win next week.

The crap that I have endured for being the guy to say this. It was obvious for years. Blame RF, but he is there because Tomlin won't do anything about it.

He talks about making the routine plays, not living in fears, standards being standards, etc. It's all talk.

Yes and half the fan base buys it

SMH. Ben saves Tomlin sophomoric coaching and turns his mistakes into wins every year.

For once, just once can we win a game with good coaching?

Tomlin is an idiot. Dick L one of the greatest defensive minds in NFL history defensive scheme was what. We want to keep everything in front of us and make teams run 13 + play drives. Why because he said offenses would make a mistake, a pick, a fumble, a sack or a drop to end the drive. We created our offense to have to run 15 play drives because we want to only throw 3 yard passes.

The December collapse has begun again. Who is responsible?

1. Ben's Knee
2. OL pass blocking ineptitude
3. OC Play calling
4. ILB/OL injuries
5. DJ/Ebron drops
6. Injury to K
7. Ray Ray forgetting how to return kicks
8. Coverage teams allowing 30-40yd returns constitantly

Take your pick.

Tomlin does get to share in some of that to be fair. He went with an inexperienced line coach, he went with Randy who was his buddy. He signed off on bringing Ebron in. He doesn't get all of the blame but he shares it sure.

It's on Ben. He needs to do a better job of getting this team ready to play. Can't believe he didn't make Tomlin throw that challenge flag last night on the fumble.
Ben needs to do a better job of making adjustments on the defensive side of the ball in the 2nd halves. Other teams are adjusting offensively and he's not adjusting accordingly.
Ben also needs to get this OL blocking again, whether that means changing the offensive scheme or just change of personnel.

Ben was in line for COY of the year up until last week, I thought but I think that's gone. We'll see what he can come up with this week for the Bengals.

Also, I hope Ben tells Tomlin to be careful on the sideline. There's a football game going on and he is at risk of getting hurt like what happened last night.

It is the HC job to get a team ready to play not a QBs.

all true, my biggest ***** was last night, Buffalo clearly made an adjustment on offense late 2nd quarter, even with the pick six it was only 9-7 at halftime, we made no adjustment to what they did, and they went right down the field after halftime.
