If, in the past three weeks, the US had gone from 11,000 cases to 3,100, THAT would be indicative of being near herd immunity. But that didn’t happen, cases went up to 31,000. That is absolutely inconsistent with being at or near herd immunity. Nothing about that suggests RESISTANCE. No qualified person ever declared being at or near herd immunity when cases were rising, be it against Covid or the flu. And you’re wrong, some counties didn’t have their first Covid case until 2021.
