Covid Vaccine

Oh… an I love the people who say they are putting a chip in your arm. Please don’t get the shot. We need less morons.

Im currently ill with something that isn’t covid… weirdly my average oxygen levels ( i have to take them daily through this stupid pandemic along with my temperature) has risen from typically 96 or 97 to 98…. Very weird cold…..

Interesting you say that. Something is weird here too and I can put my finger on it yet.

We are all sick. All tested positive for covid except me. I am going to go get retested tomorrow because we were all exposed to the same person at the exact same time and are all sick. 5 of us. 2 people the mrs. came in contact with a few days before getting symptoms are positve and sick. Seriously contagious **** if you ask me. But so far its basically body aches, head cold and no fever. Nothing in the lungs either. 2 of the people sick have had horrible diahrrea.

The vaccinators don't want to hear this but 2 of my family members were fully vaccinated with Moderna and Pfizer and are sick now and tested positive.

We questioned the nurse Friday when we were tested and she said so many were testing positive and were vaccinated they stopped asking.

No doubt those vaccinated can get COVID. I look at it same as the flu vaccine every year. You can still get it, but it shouldn’t be as bad.
Before the vaccine there were no doubt many positives walking around with no symptoms. Surely lots more vaccinated positives now who don’t even know it.

I suspect the vaccines were a placebo. They seem completely ineffective. Am I right?

No. They remain fairly effective against infection with the delta variant, and extremely effective against severe illness and death. More effective than most flu shots. Not perfect but perfect shouldn't be the enemy of good or very good.

The nurse said Friday that over 40 percent of the positive cases were from vaccinated when they stopped keeping track.

I guess when the statistics don't fit your narrative, that is what you do.

I don't see how anyone can not question the vaccines at this point since we went from the jab setting you completely free, to well you still might get it, to you can still spread it too so mask up, to oh by the way your gonna need a booster shot in the fall since the immunity doesn't last very long.

If I could, I would give this post a Steeler Nation Misinformation Rating of 10.

Having said that, it does seem that deaths have dropped dramatically compared to the height of the pandemic. I suspect it's the masks, or that six feet thingy.

So I have kind of a weird story too. As I went to bed Tuesday, I had a bit of a sore throat. Woke up Wednesday with my throat so sore I would have sworn was swallowing glass. Same thing Thursday. Was out of work Thursday and Friday sick to beat the band. Saturday, I had the worst dry cough I can remember, and I couldn't walk 15 feet without being completely winded and huffing for breath. Woke up this morning, feeling completely normal, haven't coughed once and I feel like myself. I mean, I feel great. I've had a lot of chest colds, and exactly none of them played out like this. Wife is convinced I had/have COVID. So is my daughter. Hell, I don't know, but that **** was strange to say the least.

Yes, because it's a new illness and new vaccines the knowledge evolves. That's not proof we were lied to, it's just how science works.

Numerous vaccines require boosters to remain effective long term. Yinz all act like this is something new and sinister.

Look at the data not anecdotes. The vaccines aren't a panacea but they are still the best weapon we have.

LOL, I said I was out of this convo awhile ago so I really do need to be now.

Argue with the graph, Tim. It clearly shows cases rising in all regions simultaneously. The difference being the trajectory. Or just name call.

The graph shows cases growing now. You argued that Delta hit all 50 states at the same time and started growing in EACH state at the same time.

Despite....

The flu spreading each year
COVID in early 2020 hitting a few states, then spreading, with wave one hitting many states later than those first hit
COVID in late 2020, wave 2, also hitting states at different times

Now, you argue, that Delta hit all 50 states simultaneously at the same ******* time....

Yet I post the hot spots map almost weekly. And each week you can LITERALLY see the hot spots growing and spreading north.

You argue simply to argue when facts beat you over the head.

Louisiana is now at a -27% 14 day change in cases. MINUS 27%. They were initially hardest hit by Delta.
Arkansas is at -5% 14 day change in cases. Also initially hard hit.
Mississippi is at -7% 14 day change in cases. Also initially hard hit.

These states were NOT hit by Delta early:
West Virginiaa - up 152% in cases over 14 days
Ohio - up 73%
Indiana - up 72%
PA up 71%
NH up 58%
VA up 56%

While 14 day case trends are dropping in the original Delta hot spots, they are rising where they barely existed before.

Watch it spread.

The vaccines are working, Tim. The unvaccinated are learning that the hard way. Your denial in fanatical and unhinged.

Yep, that's why we have some states with case loads higher than in either of the first 2 waves. Because the vaccines are stopping the spread.

They are not. The CDC has said they do not prevent the spread.

And you keep swallowing the **** America is feeding you. Other countries, more open with their data, continue to show a vast high % of their hospitalized are vaccinated. Guess we just have a different COVID here huh?

Israel showing 85%-90% of their hospitalized are vaccinated.

******* Jesse Jackson is hospitalized after being fully vaccinated.

England showing HIGH numbers of vaccinated dying from COVID:

More vaccinated people are dying of the delta variant of covid than unvaccinated people, according to a recent report from Public Health England.

But in the USA, none of that is happening.

Yeah, bullshit.

Man, has our country ever gone so far downhill. I hope we can return to some pre 2020 days soon otherwise we’re toast

viruses go viral

viruses go viral

AKA, they spread. Some may not get your point.

Floggy do be act like COVID hits every state at the same time. You know, like the flu does every year. Oct 12, every year BAM the flu is everywhere. That's just how it be happen.

The vast majority of people hold a very short term viewpoint. there is a reason instant gratification items are always big sellers.

The problem here is that sure, the vaccine cuts down the severity of some cases, but if the long term impact is severe then you are damning more people than would have had a problem with the virus initially.

yes the Vaccines cut down hospitalization… but there is ample evidence that the vaccines don’t really protect against spreading the virus and suspicion that they wear out in a matter of a couple months

The reason people are often using Israeli data is that they utilize the Mrna stuff we also do

while we talk about four primary companies utilizing adenovirus and mrna there are a couple dozen worldwide vaccines using a handful of different types of vaccines…. Everything from traditional inactivated virus based vaccines to actual DNA manipulation in India…

Israel just matches well with us and is a little bit ahead of out
Getting it.

While every medication (even Tylenol) has adverse effects in a few people, vaccines are some of the safest medical interventions in existence. Most people won't die from covid, that's true. But we can't protect the ones who will without large numbers of people being vaccinated. I do also know several people now who have had it and had some lingering effects from it for weeks. Fatigue and shortness of breath mostly. I'll avoid that if I can.

Talked to my friend whose husband is working on the rollout of the Pfizer vaccine. The side effects are minimal. Most common one-soreness at the injection site. Aches and fever of short duration second most common. Not unlike other vaccines. It's your immune system mounting a response. It's normal.
you absolutely cannot know what the long term effects for mRNa vaccines are because tgey have never been done on humans before… and some of the theoretical stuff as well as stuff observed in animal tests are downright scary

look the fda has been around over a hundred years and has tons of utterly failed horrible things they have released over the years calling it safe before long term effects have come out… and pharmaceutical companies routinely lie about data… hell pfizer had the largest government fine ever at the time it was handed put around a decade ago

they mislead data, they outright lie about useage, they cover up long term effects and do their damndest to spin everything… seriously go to Wikipedia the next time a major drug scandal breaks and watch how quickly a very company friendly spin to it is put up there and how quickly anything negative gets taken down…

they outspend every single lobbyist group by large margins and there are thousands of cases against that industry for paying bribes and kickbacks…

the only thing that matters os the independent data, and we have no long term data, virtually no repeatable trials, barely any diversification in the studies released… we have bioengineered vaccine using theoretical science approved with a couple months of clinical trials… its outright stupid

the FDA once approved a serum using radium in it before they knew the long term effects of radiation … here in Pittsburgh there is a cemetery full of rich 20-30 somethings in lead coffins because of that…

yes it reduces hospitalization
No it doesn’t reduce cases
And its effects fade fast… Canada just purchased 3 years of booster shots at a rate on over one per 2 months for every man woman and child in the country…. Latest studies are saying the mrna is now at 42% effective… better than nothing but not good enough to risk long term damage to the majority of the population…

Bravo. A great post. The article is a really good back and forth discussion as well. Thanks for sharing and for your continued input.

I'm posting this article, highlighting the same story again, for emphasis and validation (many, many sources are now reporting it).

Natural immunity is your best protection. Period.

The largest real-world analysis comparing natural immunity -- gained from an earlier infection -- to the protection provided by one of the most potent vaccines currently in use showed that reinfections were much less common.

The results are good news for patients who already successfully battled Covid-19, but show the challenge of relying exclusively on immunizations to move past the pandemic. People given both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were almost six-fold more likely to contract a delta infection and seven-fold more likely to have symptomatic disease than those who recovered.

“This analysis demonstrated that natural immunity affords longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization due to the delta variant,” the researchers said.

No, “now” is the furthest right point on the graph. The graph shows cases rising IN ALL REGIONS well before August. I am only arguing what the graph CLEARLY shows.

Louisiana is (still) at 114% of its winter peak and has 92 cases/100k.

Mississippi is at 129% of its winter peak and 103 cases/100k.

Pennsylvania is at 31% of its winter peak and 26 cases/100k.

Perspective, Tim, perspective.

As I just pointed out, low vaccination states like Louisiana and Mississippi are seeing case loads higher than the first two waves. Which high vaccination state is seeing case loads higher than the first two waves?

I know, I know “just wait” but you aren’t predicting anything, right?

Thanks Mad.

I appreciate your continued pointing out that we do not have necessary safety or efficacy data......yes the vaccines were moved forward, quickly, to meet the perceived need of populations, but real outcomes are measured over time.

It is simple to understand that a new flu strain (Covid variant), that was not the subject of the ongoing, incomplete phase 1 and phase 2 clinical studies, or the "completed" phase 3 studies is now creating problems for a series of vaccines that it was not designed for. In the "old days" before vaccines had become all the medical rage, most folks would expect cold/flu issues every fall, and sometimes again in the winter as they experienced new strains (variants), and they would simply deal with the inconvenient illnesses as they occurred. Influenza claimed many lives annually, especially amongst the weakest of the population. For most people, cold/flu is a normal occurrence. For some lucky ones, not normal, for some unlucky ones very terrible. The best advice from most healthcare providers is to take care of your health to ensure that your immunity is strengthened by your habits. Adding vitamins C, D and some zinc are all common to this attempt to strengthen immunity to cold/flu.

But cold/flu didn't wreak havoc last year because Covid replaced it and many, many were locked down. We are probably heading into a future where we have cold/flu/Rona issues, where the frail and the weak, unfortunately, are the most likely to succumb. Yes, some middle aged folks will still succumb, usually because of unknown other issues that complicate illness. The one "less bad" fact with the Rona is that it seems far less likely to harm the youngest in our population. So far, we are fortunate.

Regardless of vaccination status, it makes sense for all to strengthen their personal and family health situations, especially with regard to strengthening immunity.

Perhaps that stronger immunity will also lead to immunity from short term "breaking news" porn regarding cold/flu/Rona and the miracle vaccines that sort of work for some, but not all, and sort of seem to just leave everyone frustrated because the virus....whatever the hell strain it is.....is going to be viral.

So let me try to explain how the people worried about long term effects think….

first of all lets rule out the appeal to authority angle here… you cannot know what you don’t know yet… so absolutely nobody can definitely or even reasonably make any conclusions that LTE will or won’t happen… tgere haven’t been long term clinical trials… there is no data… there are some troubling hypotheticals but again, nothing definitive either way… so experts rubber stamping vaccines or condemning them long term are just spouting opinions …

lets assume that after the census is tabulated we have 350 million people in the country

lets assume that all 350 are mandated to be vaccinated and the three we have now are the only ones used…

lets assume that one has a devastating long term effect in 0.1% of the population… thats 116,000 people destroyed by the vaccine because of lack of foresight and long term testing…..

now lets say they mandate one vaccine for the whole population as a booster and that one has a .1% chance of a devastating lte… thats 350,000 people …

butcwhat if it is higher… for every 1% you are talking 3.5 million people

when you don’t know something like that the best move is to diversify methodologies and hedge your bets… lets say you can get six variations of vaccines to your population, then if one has a horrible LTE, you are isolating it…

I cannot stress enough that biotech solutions are probably going to be magnificent down the road but until they are actually proven its stupid to go all in on them

Another quick update.....

Bro in law tested positive this AM after starting to show symptoms over the weekend.

Fully Vaccinated with Moderna.

Ill take my 9 month herd immunity and run with it after this, thank you.
