During Desert Storm I was a paying agent for AFSOC and was given $200K of Saudi Riyals and US Dollars. I was sent to the western side of Saudi (Al Jouf) taking out Scud missile sites. My agent duties when needed was to go into the local community and buy supplies with a contracting officer (water, food, even had to buy scuba gear for a mission, ect.). I had direct orders to bury or destroy every last paper currency if necessary...none of it will fall into opposition hands. Went back to Qatar in '04 while with SOCCENT J1 and had the same direction doing paying agent duties in the field. Apparently, those rules no longer apply...free money. How the hell did that not get scooped up or burned by the forward finance team?

This gear the Taliban has was captured when the "Afghan Army" cut and run. We gave the "Afghan Army" that equipment to fight the guys that currently have the equipment. Neither Biden, nor Trump, nor Obama nor Bush "gave" the Taliban any of that equipment. Did the US leave equipment behind? Absolutely. But I can assure you none of it was weapons. How do I know this? Because if you've served and ever had to do "hands across America" because some fuckstick left his weapon or NVG's in the porta ******* then you know that the US military did not just leave behind thousands of weapons. Every weapon is assigned to a Soldier, whether it be an individual weapon or crew served. The US military did not leave any weapons behind. I can promise you that.

The money appears to be abandoned by the ANSDF just like the weapons, NVG's, vehicles and aircraft. No way they take that money with them. You get caught with it, that ties you to the US. And that means death.
