Reading the board is hard after a loss....but the name calling among ourselves makes us look like a bunch of whining vaginas.

Steelers have had horrific losses in the playoffs before.....it will happen again.

No we're not trading Ben, LeBeau will most likely retire when he wants and he's earned that, that goes for Troy and James Harrison.

Whether you like it or not this defense is in transition. It's a work in progress.

This is not a bad team....no need for cutting this player and trading this player....Steelers have loaded the offense (which they wanted to) and now it's time to reload the defense.

Ravens came to our stadium plenty of times before and they got whipped in the playoffs.

We destroyed them with the right to play in the Super Bowl on the line.

Steelers are in good position. They have some tough choices to make and re-load the defense.....OLB, CB,

Whether through the draft or FA or a combination of both these spots need to be upgraded.

I'm not panicking. There will be 31 teams that will be disappointed.

It's just a game....

You have to understand that a lot of these posts were practically written and cued up for the entire season. They were just waiting for the opportunity to post them. That time is now.

That being said, improvements do need to be made to the roster next year if they want to be a serious contender.

Being one of the 31 disappointed teams is fine. At least be competitive . Last night was the antithesis to competitive . Parity is the one reason they "ran the north" this year. They don't lose close competitive games. They get humiliated in the losses. Last night was pathetic.

O I agree completely. It's embarrassing stuff like this that hopefully wakes up the Rooneys.

It felt like that last night, it certainly was demoralizing. But in hindsight it seems like a few things just didn't fall our way. A couple of balls caught instead of dropped, a couple of inches here or there, a call or two in our favor instead of against and we win the game. That's the reality of football. We're not a terrible team, we're a good team that had a bad night. It happens.

Ultimately we went 10-6 and won the division...we are on the upswing. I think we will come back stronger next year.

We went 11-5

But I hope this defense is improved dramatically.

I think it's the one reason people lose their minds over the last few years, myself included.

Everyone can see it, everyone knows the problems. Everyone sees the exact same problems year in , year out.

Last nights teams is much closer to the "true" team than those 6 passing td teams. Pressure reveals character.

Last nights results show how far away from being good they really are.

,

Nicely stated. The time would have been whenever we had lost had we not not won the SB.

They are much closer to being the Browns , than the Broncos . And the Browns dfense has much better talent .

Would it really surprise you if they went 6-10 next year? Not me.

We'll have to see what happens next year, but I'm not convinced of the bolded part. This season could very well prove to be an aberration, a costly one that prevents/delays necessary changes from being made.

Despite the impressive offensive talent, the same inconsistencies that have plagued them for years on that side of the ball remain and the defense is a mess, such a mess that even if Tombert were to start magically making good personnel decisions there from this moment on, it will probably take 2-3 years to fix.

It's just premature to claim the arrow is pointing up, IMO.

I just find it funny how losing Bell is not a big deal anymore. It hurt. It was a major factor in the game. Yes we still had our chances but Bell is a major contributor. His patience and vision cant be replaced. Not to mention just the attention he draws.

It was a factor. I think it led to Ben feeling like he had to take on too much by himself without the threat of a reliable running game. I think it took a lot out of the offense in terms of morale. But, losing Ben didn't make Gilbert revert back to a turnstile, DeCastro have one of the worst games I've seen from him, Heath drop a couple of passes, the run defense revert, etc. etc.

Losing Bell probably had a great deal to do with what appeared to be a game plan developed by Haley that seemed like he was playing battleship rather than trying to score points against Baltimore's defense. The offense just never found a rhythm. But, losing Bell had nothing to do with some questionable personnel moves in this game, like starting Troy in place of Allen. Sitting Moore while keeping Archer activated and using him as a traditional running back (never ever run Dri Archer into the line again please).

It was a tough loss. But hey, the younger guys got a baptism into how the intensity picks up in the playoffs AND now have their own reason to dislike/hate the Ravens.

This is an excuse.

The defensive front three finally looks like it has potential with Heyward and Tuitt on the ends and McLendon/McCullers in the middle. They are set in the middle with Timmons and the trio of Shazier, Spence and Williams. However, the rest is not in good shape at all. They have invested a lot of money in Mitchell and Allen and both deserve to be on the bench. Their only young prospect--Shamarko Thomas--can't even get on the field. Then look at the outside linebacker situation, it is laughable. Jarvis Jones has shown nothing in two years and they will probably have to overpay Jason Worilds so they have at least one semi-proven player at the position. The drafting and development of defenders is below the line and they need some significant improvements to change this.

Not in the least. I suspect we will give up ton of points next yr

They have a lot of players that should get on with their life outside of football.

Instead of bringing in 6 scrubs, lets bring in two difference makers. One at corner one at OLBer.

draft a corner, SS, and a RT

no not a scrub corner to make due or a scrub OLber to make due.

Until that mindset is changed expect more of the same results.

Good seasons perhaps but not great ones.

I think they should strive for greatness........

Yeah......the name calling is ridiculous and out of hand........It is so pervasive that sometimes I think some people don't even realize when they are doing it.

I did that when I was younger, but I was hot headed and immature.

Maybe the ones who do it now will outgrow the name calling.

maybe
