MVP: TJ Watt - The best player on the team continues to produce and come up big in big moments.

Offensive Player of the Year: Russell Wilson - He's only played in two games, but the offense looks completely different with him under center. Najee Harris is coming on hot the past few weeks, he just wasn't the catalyst to the offensive turnaround.

Defensive Player of the Year: Cam Heyward - To avoid doubling down on Watt, Heyward has been playing terrific football. Highsmith would be in the running as well if he was healthy all year.

Rookie of the Year: Zach Frazier - Prior to the injury, he was playing excellent football and helped make a dominant interior OL for the Steelers. Beanie Bishop is coming on strong after a slow start with his huge INTs.

Biggest Surprise: Elandon Roberts - Probably our best ILB this season and a clear physical presence, especially on the goal line. Basically, he was a solid player for us last season, but has been excellent this year.

Coach of the Year: Danny Smith - I considered Tomlin and A. Smith, it's just this special teams unit has had splash plays when we've needed them and you can see the special teams unit rallying around their coach.

If I might add a category or two Steeler Fan

Unsung Hero…..our Center…..who for me,came out of nowhere and has done a great job so far. Ryan McCollum.
perseverance award…..Dan Moore JR. I think he’s done well. And I think we all know the amount of abuse thrown his way.

I’m going to have to disagree with Russ as Offensive player at the half way mark. He might end up there at the end of the year.
His 2 victories have come against 2 teams with a grand total of 5 wins. I’m not saying he didn’t look good. But I certainly have to see more. I’m going to have to give it to Naj so far. A player that I have **** on in the past. He is playing very well.
Cheers.

AGREE

TORN
You have Boswell / Najee / who are doing it all year, Russ may end up offensive mvp, but this is 1/2 season awards ceremony

Defensive Player of the Year: Cam Heyward - To avoid doubling down on Watt, Heyward has been playing terrific football. Highsmith would be in the running as well if he was healthy all year.
You're right, WATT would be that recipient, but for sake of not doubling up............... Cam is playing way better than most thought he would.

Rookie of the Year: Zach Frazier - Prior to the injury, he was playing excellent football and helped make a dominant interior OL for the Steelers. Beanie Bishop is coming on strong after a slow start with his huge INTs.
You can't win if not in the game, Zach has been extremely effective, But we do have a UDFA rookie in the Beanie Bishop kid. He is on the field of play.

Agreed, but here again the Bishop kid comes into play.

Coach of the Year: Danny Smith - I considered Tomlin and A. Smith, it's just this special teams unit has had splash plays when we've needed them and you can see the special teams unit rallying around their coach.
Unanimous

I've been VERY hard on Bubbles, but am glad to finally see some fruition.

Great post SteelerFan448, thank you

I'm cool with all but Deshon Elliot is DPOY. He has been easily best player not named Watt.

Gotta throw Najee some love. I was all for moving on from him but if he finishes the way he’s been playing the last few weeks he’s going to demolish his career highs in yards, and ypc and might even have a career high in touchdowns. He might make the Steelers regret declining his 6.79m 5th year option when we have to tag him for double.

I agree with everything but Offensive player of the year. Although I think the offense has looked a little better under Russ. Boz has single handed won multiple games for us as a FG kicker and I am not talking about a last second field gold but straight up putting this team on his shoulders.

Najee is running harder than I have ever seen him run, he has averaged over 6 ypc the last three games and moves the chains consistently.

Right now I have it

Boz

Najee

Russ.

Boswell plays special teams, not offense.

Again, I gave it to Russ because the offense completely transformed into an actual NFL looking offense as soon as he came under center. The Steelers still had some rough offensive games with Najee carrying the load. With that said, the team is better because all are playing at a high level right now.

Najee- OPY
shut people up award*if that is an award) Dan Moore
TJ- DPY of league
The what is his name and where did he come from award- Back up Center guy
The cant really be called comeback player, but what a comeback award- RW
Boswell- STPOY of the league
WTF happened award- B jones
Best trade of year- DJ for DJ
Coach of the year? Tomblin. just so some people cry.

I wasn't trying to offend you or piss on your thread but when you are the only one putting poins on the board you are the offense. but I will conceed the Boz statement. The first game Russ played George bailed him out on some pretty ****** throws, Najee has been the most consistant play maker the last three games. thats just the way i see it.
