Report: Aaron Rodgers Is At Steelers Facility On Friday

sounds like Mike wants to see what Aaron has in that cave

“He’s a free agent,” Tomlin said of Rodgers. “As you guys know, he came to visit last Friday. We had a really productive day. He’s been in this thing a long time. I’ve been in this thing a long time. But it’s no substitute for, you know, intimacy and spending time together and getting to know one another in a non-competitive environment. And so that was really good. But I don’t have any new updates in terms of where the process is. We’ll see where it leads us.”

Again Rodgers is not holding anything up. If the FO wanted Fields and / or Wilson here and Wilson or Fields wanted to be here they would. If the FO wanted someone else over Rodgers they would have signed someone else or pursued them aggressively. We don't know what was offered to who, but it seems like guys were not beating down the door to play here. Currently there is nothing out there so deciding on Rodgers is not hurting us in anyway My issue is we sign Rodgers then if we draft a guy where does that put Mason. If we keep Mason as backup the drafted guy will be 3rd string and not get many reps. If Mason goes to 3rd string we will have the most expensive 3rd stringer ever. If we don't draft a guy we will be having this convo again next year

99.5% Rodgers will be signed
Think he’s too arrogant to retire yet

If he waits long enough 1 year will become 2 on the deal..:it’s a simple waiting game.

I wouldn’t doubt if he signs exactly when the Steelers go on the clock in the first round of the draft in the ultimate “look at me” maneuver.

buddy just told me rogers putting offer on house in pittsburgh

looking for links sounds like bullshite. Probably messing with me.

How anyone could blame Pouncey for the Cleveland loss is truly mind boggling. You do realize that was the first play of the game, right?
Hmmmm…let me see. Pitt gets the ball back…int on their 49. Cleveland TD.
Hmmm ….let me see. Pitt…3 and out. Cleveland scores TD on their possession.
Hmmm….let me see. Ben throws another int on 45 yard line returned to Pitt 15. Cleveland scores.
Hmmm…let me see. Each team punts.
Hmmm….Get the Ball back,Ben throws another int on Cleveland 47 yard line.

Hmmmmm….Sure seems like a long time ago that Pouncey ****** up the snap. Blaming Pouncey and nothing on Ben is just plain ridiculous.

Cleveland went into a prevent defense basically after the first quarter. Played the clock game they were so far ahead. Accounting for many of Ben’s yards. And then when Pitt was getting close they turned it on and scored at will ,and of course another int by Ben.

The Defense **** the bed and Ben. The snap certainly didn’t help. I suggest some going back and rewatch the game.

I read all these comments. I cheered Ben on just as much as any Steeler fan. But I mean come on. He had huge turnovers at huge times as well.
People saying Mendenhall losing the GB game. And then excusing Big Ben’s int because he was getting hit for the pick 6. Never mentioning his second pick that also led to a GB score,Rarely mentioning that he got the ball back with a full 2 minutes to go,and did absolutely nothing with it. Nothing. Mendenhall also got drilled hard on a great play by Clay Mathews. But that doesn’t seem to matter.
Mendenhall may be a bit of a flake, but I don’t blame him one bit for being a little bitter. The hypocrisy is quite real here.

And no. These comments don’t make me a Ben Hater. He deserves to go in as a first ballot HOF. But let’s not pretend there weren’t some big disappointments in big games.

Glad to see that there are more than 1 or 2 posters on here that can be honest about the good and bad with Ben.

I wanted Rodgers before he signed with the Jets and stated it on this board then. I don't understand all the anti-Rodgers hate other than the cap hit the team will take. He gives us the best option to win it all in a 1 or 2 (maybe more???) year window. Is the dude kind of a douche and as nutty as a squirrel turd off the field? Of course he is, but that has never affected his work on the field. Fields was never going to work out...Stevie Wonder can see this, I don't understand the continued belief he was going to pan out. He went for the cash and I don't blame him as he'll probably be out of the league in a few years. I believed in Wilson but his career long avoidance of the middle of the field was his undoing in Pittsburgh. Let's face it there are not many options out there and none as capable as A.R.

If our O-line can be patched up adequately we got something truly viable with him behind center.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has signed with CAA Sports for off-the-field representation, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. His players agent remains David Dunn at Athletes First.

CAA will work with the NFL star, who was named Super Bowl MVP in 2010, on opportunities in film, television, endorsement, speaking, business development, digital, publishing, philanthropy and more.

DK Metcalf has elected for new representation following the completion of his sophomore NFL season. Previously represented by Todd France and Ben Renzin, Metcalf is now in agreement with Tory Dandy, the Co-Head of CAA Sport’s football division.

The AFC currently has Tyson, Ali, Frazier, Foreman in their primes at QB, and a bunch of young up and comers who punch hard. The Steelers aren’t plopping the nightclub version of Jake Lamotta onto an average roster and beating all of those guys on a magical playoff run.

They’re looking for Tomlinship insurance, nothing more. 9-10 wins and he’ll be one season away from Noll’s all time win record.

Roll with Mason…
Hope for 3-4 wins ..
Draft Arch Manning Jr..

Anything outside of that just continues the misery of mediocrity associated with Steeler football lately..

Manning is not likely coming out, he’ll only be 21 with 15 career starts. What is your plan B?

Draft Manning the following year when he has 27 starts? He didn't specify what year to draft him. And Mason is signed for two years... Manning could also ball out and declare for the draft. You're making just as many assumptions as he is.

Tanking in the hopes of a half breed Manning leaving college early is no real answer on any level.

No guarantee he enters draft
No guarantee he is even worthy of being top QB
And tanking sucks

That strategy makes a touch more sense if they trade Cam and Minkah and Watt for whatever they can get and go full blow it up reboot…but we all know that ain’t happening in Tomlinship Town.

And Rudy laughs at your lack of faith in him being able to get that 9-10 win “standard”….he’s got this

I thought next year was supposed to be The Year the Steelers draft a franchise QB? And how are the Steelers supposed to get that number 1 overall pick in The Manning Draft when they draft between 20-22 every year? Trade all the picks away that they’ll need to replace Watt, Heyward, Fitzpatrick, etc. as they all decline/retire while we chase the white whale?

IMO, it’s a safe assumption Manning comes back for another year at UT, he will turn 21 the weekend of the 2026 draft, I could not find a first round QB who came out at that age with that low number of starts, so not only would it be fairly unprecedented, Texas is going to back up a Brinks truck to keep him in school another year if he’s all that.

EDIT: Found this good piece on why it’s a mistake to go all in for next year’s draft:
