Report: Aaron Rodgers Is At Steelers Facility On Friday

I’m all in blowing it up and trading anyone snd everyone that will return favorable draft value..
Combine that with starting Mason all season will result in a top 5 selection imho..

I truly believe Manning will declare if he knows it’s the Steeler organization that will most likely select him…

They need to make drastic moves and decisions in the upcoming weeks … or risk becoming the penguins snd are stuck with aging future hall of famers and few victories year after year..

Maybe the steeler organization of old

I thought next year was supposed to be The Year the Steelers draft a franchise QB? And how are the Steelers supposed to get that number 1 overall pick in The Manning Draft when they draft between 20-22 every year? Trade all the picks away that they’ll need to replace Watt, Heyward, Fitzpatrick, etc. as they all decline/retire while we chase the white whale?

IMO, it’s a safe assumption Manning comes back for another year at UT, he will turn 21 the weekend of the 2026 draft, I could not find a first round QB who came out at that age with that low number of starts, so not only would it be fairly unprecedented, Texas is going to back up a Brinks truck to keep him in school another year if he’s all that.

EDIT: Found this good piece on why it’s a mistake to go all in for next year’s draft:

This is a good point that people aren't used to being a factor. These QBs especially are making more with NIL than an NFL rookie contract offers. Caleb Williams got a four year 39.4M contract which nets 9.85M per year. Texas could easily pay manning 12M per year to stay.

Rodgers was apparently throwing with DK this weekend. Maybe that's a sign of something but who knows.

Rogers is going to be our next starting QB.

My question is "why isn't George Pickens playing catchy as well" ????

From Home page an article about rogers and DK https://steelernation.com/2025/04/01/steelers-exclusive-aaron-rodgers-trusted

Accept the fact he is going to be here and I hope like hellA, I have to eat well done BBQ's crow with Heavy Habanero & mustard sauce.

Sounds like both Rodgers and DK live in the LA area. So this probably didn't need a bunch of coordination to set up.

Doesn't matter, George best be working on his trade, and participating with his new starting QB makes a big step in getting targets later.

DK has made the effort and rogers will have a comfort in throwing to him. Pickens could have reached out as well.

I'd want that comfort directed towards me, especially if I want more targets.

If Manning declares and shows he is the real deal we have a slim to none chance of getting him. We would have to be the worst team in the league because teams are not going to pass on him or trade away the pick. He may not even want to be here. We have bad weather, not a passing team, and just 0 offensive creativity. The odds of Arch being another Peyton or even Eli are also very slim, but who knows. Manning will be under a massive microscope and huge pressure. It will be interesting to see how he handles it

Other than his last name being Manning, what has he done?
I don't really watch a lot of college ball

Some of these media people should be ashamed of themselves. I saw an article that says we are predicted to trade watt to Tennessee for the #1 pick. This trade makes 0 sense. Tenn is not a Watt away from being competitive. They have 3 QBs, but Levis is the top guy and he was just awful. Watt is probably on the downside of his career so I don't think he would command the #1 overall pick

I saw a mock that had us trade Watt for a 2nd and a 4th, and then with those picks take Milroe and Lampkin. Nothing like trading an impact player for two MASSIVE projects, and Lampkin is going to get eaten up in the NFL.

Really? Rodgers isn't even a Steeler at the moment. I have no clue where Pickens lives but on a whim he is suppose to fly out and play catch with Rodgers? On his dime to boot. Now Metcalf and Rodgers apparently are all but next door neighbors and have a bit more $$$$ laying around than Pickens.

The Steelers have gone from an iconic destination franchise to a joke of an organization.

2 straight years we have huge chunks of salary space sitting around as free agency dries up in the hopes the 49ers/Ayuk or Rodgers will pretty please agree to come here because that’s the direction Tomlin has taken us to.

Give them a deadline, then move on with the 30 million in cap space before there’s no one to spend it on, grow a pair.

There is no one left to spend it on... so what's another week?

Nothing much, Blitz. He got some spot play and I believe he may have got to start a time or two this season due to injury. He has a ton of potential, but don't they all?

Because we can use the picks elsewhere.
So to save us picks for other positions, you want us to sign JK Dobbins, who while only 26, has missed 29 games combined the last three years OR Nick Chubb who is missed 24 games the last TWO years and is 29, and is clearly nowhere NEAR the back he was before his devastating injury against us?

I'll pass

Right, no hooking up flights, etc. But it still took SOME coordination. (shrugs shoulders)

What about jk Dobbins, or chubbs?
I like listening to Williamson. He put a mock draft together last week I liked, and it depended on them signing Dobbins or Chubb so they wouldn't have to take a RB. The draft was a lot of big guys on the DL and OL. Part of the theory is even if you don't resign one of them after their rookie deal, they make so much on the open market you can get comp picks like they will from Dan Moore. Dan Moore was thought better of around the league (or at least in Tennessee...it only takes one) then we thought of him, and that's what matters.

If they both didn't have MASSIVE injury history, then I could see it. If the whole point is to avoid drafting one (even tho we could get one in the 6th or 7th realistically, maybe even UDFA), so you can draft players to lose to FA and gain comp picks, then you still wait until after the draft to sign any RB. Then they don't count against the comp pick formula anyway. And any RB that's a FA that's available today, is going to be available the monday after the draft as well.

Personally, I'd rather have a younger, healthier, higher ceiling guy. And like I said, with how deep it is at RB, you don't need to use a premium pick on one.

Yeah...I liked the draft he put together much better than signing Dobbins or Chubb, but I'd take it if they would put together that draft. Wish I could remember all the guys he had on there...Nolen was the 1st, the project tackle from William and Mary was the 3rd. As you can tell I'm no draftnik. I just like the idea of seeing an area of need and attacking it with more than one draft pick.
