17 Players attending the draft

I'd love Sanders and Dart in the first.

Other than that I'm not more excited about about of the other first round picks that are likely to be there at 21 than players they could take at like 50.

Of course some crazy stuff could happen like Will Johnson falling who I'd be really excited about.

To be fair, we did give up on Kenny after 2 years. So maybe not the whole 4...

I hear ya, but it was Kenny who gave up on the STEELERS and abandoned them. His play production, albeit crappy OC, was pretty low. Kenny got caught in the “perfect” storm of failure.

I think the Steelers abandoned Pickett first. You go all offseason saying he's your guy, that you're going to give him everything he needs to make that much needed step in year 3, and then go and sign Wilson and promise him certain things. I think he saw the writing on the wall

That's why he eventually wanted to leave. And we let him go because trading him meant that we cut out the trade market for Fields. Who was at least a push and probably an upgrade. And I think we ended up increasing draft capital across those two trades too?

But before all that, I think we gave up on Kenny being something more than a backup when we benched him for Mason (who is a career backup and would have been out of the league if we didn't resign him that year).

He still could have tried to compete. Fields was giving an early nod due to injury and if he would have shined he probably would have stuck.

If a QB is afraid to compete he isn’t the QB you want under center.

But as we saw with Fields and Wilson, there was no true competition for QB1

They were very clear from the start they would bring in real competition. It wasn't until they did that he ran away. He may have well won the job had he stayed. He had no chance in Philly. It was a mistake on his part.

Bottom line is Picket is no longer a Steelers player.

He does have a chance of becoming a Steelers slayer, so stay tuned.........................................

Of course Shedeur won't attend the draft, that would take the spotlight off of his father. Instead, Dion will have circus going on for the NFL camera crew to record so he'll be the talk of draft day. What an attention *****.
He's the master of ceremonies, and he will have your attention because he demands it. Boooowwwaaakaaaa. He demands it and you will obey him. End of story.

If Fields had great numbers no one was seating him
I'm not so certain about that. The way MT seems to work is to designate a starter (Wilson) in his own mind and there is no changing that. When the switch was made, MT alluded to HIM making the switch as others in the organization disagreed. I'm not saying that Fields looked like a franchise QB, he was successful enough and the offense was starting to get into a rhythm when Mike made his "power move". So if Fields was 6-0 and throwing 300+ yards per game it wouldn't have mattered. Mike is Mike and the standard is the standard.

I know, they weren't outstanding either. Just let me say I would have kept Justin starting, but promises were made and the kid wasn't to be confused with Lamar either
Which was my whole point, promises were made. Making any QB competition null and void. Did the same thing with Trubisky and Pickett, it wasn't truly an open competition...

No self-awareness, zero discipline. Yup, Mike is Mike. Worthless.

After Blount, Ingram, Deebo, etc. the agents must have the book on the team making commitments to players and then renegging on them. I would have preferred KFP handled the situation differently, but it appears that he was misled like the others.

I didn't know how it worked, but when I was researching the Aaron Rodgers draft slide I came across the story on how they decide who gets the invite. It is one person that does this, he doesn't tell anyone which teams is eyeing the prospect, just the prospects that will be drafted.

So even NFL execs don't know which teams are taking who
Not gonna take an astro phycist to figure out which teams are in possible interest in the Alabama kid in the first round.

Well the Giants and Seahawks are both having Milroe come in for pre draft visits this week. The Giants just had Sanders for a private workout, and now Milroe. It's widely thought they are thinking about their second round pick or trading back into the first for either of those two. The seahawks are a surprise tho, and sparking a lot of speculation. Some reports are certain teams are looking at him in a Taysom Hill type role, where a special package of plays specific to him and his skills while he can develop behind a veteran. His athletic traits are undeniable, 4.3 speed and great size, he does have a canon for an arm. It only takes one team that thinks they can fix the accuracy issues in the mid to intermediate range throws.

Wow that gets it down to three teams with possible interest in Milroe. That shouod keep em guessing. And if the Steelers take him in the first he better be a sure fire stud early or for God sake that has to end Tomlin.

True that was the state of things. But it wouldn’t have been the first time in history the backup shined and then was kept in. Fields started to meh which made the decision an easy one.

Definitely a Steelers issue with communication. Regardless Kenny didn’t have to beat out a Wilson of old. He had to out play a Wilson of present day. Regardless of what coach said what, if he feels strongly of accomplishing that he just might not opt out.

I blame both parties for how it ended , for me nobody gets a free pass.

Yeah but stuck for another two after gone at the barely minimum and most likely considering the situation it us more like 5 or 6 till they have legit long term answer.
It's likely to take a long time to get another very good QB.

My guess is that most of us won't live to see another Steelers QB that's as good as Ben was.
