17 Players attending the draft

Sanders definitely got an invite. My guess is his ego, or his dad's ego, didn't want to risk him sitting there and not getting drafted in the top 10. If there is a chance he falls all the way to the Steeles, or lower, he for sure didn't want to sit there for that. He has basically been a no show at any draft related events since the season ended except for the Colorado Pro day and private team visits. I personally don't know if his talent and potential warrant risking a first round pick considering the extra baggage and drama having a diva attitude and Prime Time as your dad will bring to the locker room.

Definitely a Steelers issue with communication. Regardless Kenny didn’t have to beat out a Wilson of old. He had to out play a Wilson of present day. Regardless of what coach said what, if he feels strongly of accomplishing that he just might not opt out.

I blame both parties for how it ended , for me nobody gets a free pass.
The funny part is if Kenny stayed he would have been starting due to Wilson's injury. If he would have played well I bet Russ wouldnt have seen the field. I do think Kenny could have handled things much better, but who knows what he was told. Kenny probably lost respect and trust w/ Tomllin after the wilson signing so figured it was time to move on. On a side note I would find it funny if Pickett throws for like 400 against us.

Well the Giants and Seahawks are both having Milroe come in for pre draft visits this week. The Giants just had Sanders for a private workout, and now Milroe. It's widely thought they are thinking about their second round pick or trading back into the first for either of those two. The seahawks are a surprise tho, and sparking a lot of speculation. Some reports are certain teams are looking at him in a Taysom Hill type role, where a special package of plays specific to him and his skills while he can develop behind a veteran. His athletic traits are undeniable, 4.3 speed and great size, he does have a canon for an arm. It only takes one team that thinks they can fix the accuracy issues in the mid to intermediate range throws.
I've been pushing this line of thought for Milroe the entire pre-draft process. If he's willing to be a utility type player, like Taysom, he probably gets a lot of playing time from day one even if Rodgers is the starter due to how athletic he is, and might be worth taking a flyer on him earlier than later. If he can show enough development to potentially become a future QB1 over the next two years behind Rodgers (I'm confident it's already planned out that he will eventually sign) and Rudolph, then have him start taking more snaps at QB in practice.

It would be nice to draft a rookie who was legitimately worthy of a 2nd contract.

To get that 2nd contract, you need that QB to develop during the aging process.

It’s hard, but even harder if the developing coaching personnel is questionable. I don’t see high standard coaching on this team capable to over come the Tomlinized season scheme.

Believe me, I’m pulling for whomever they get on the team. Deep down though i see an up hill battle for all who enter.

Salute the nation

So there was an article floating around in Jan that Sanders would not be at the draft because he wanted to be with friends and family, and with how large of a group it is, that he didn't want the financial burden to fall on the wrong people (meaning, getting everyone there to celebrate with him). I know he catches A LOT of nonsense just based on his last name and who his dad is...but we're talking about a kid that has grown up in the lime light, he's been around owners and coaches his whole life. He already knew Goodell...he is in a very unique situation.

As for being a no show, that's BS. He was at the combine, he chose not to throw or do drills. He went thru meetings, and he was on the field for the other Colorado draft hopefuls watching and cheering them on during their 40 runs and position drills. He even said “It's about the family," Sanders said of watching his teammates at the combine to Stacey Dales on NFL Network. "We've got to support each other, we've got to be there for each other. Whenever he and LaJohntay Wester made the decision to come to Colorado, they was there for me, So you know I had to support them through it all." He even said that was a reason he decided not to throw at the combine, he wanted to throw to HIS guys, and give them another chance to shine. And it's not even just his teammates, he even jumped on X to defend Will Howard when he started getting **** on after his combine performance. Why would he go out of his way to do that if he were such a diva?

Whether or not he pans out is a different discussion, but all the hate this kid gets, just because of who his dad is, that's just nonsense. He's different for sure, and he's grown up different than every single one of these other prospects. You can't even find another comparison for him, no other prospect has ever had their dad be as high profile as Deion Sanders. The Manning brothers are the closest, but Arch was never mentioned among the best QB's to ever play the game.

Draft a RB like Judkins or Johnson with Milroe and lean into heavy play-action and RPO game. If you want him to develop into a full field reader/pocket passer, he’s not the pick.

Great comments. To be honest if any of these guys walked 5 feet away from me I would not know who they are. I certainly have nothing against him. And I readily admit I would not draft him because I could not stand his dad. Of course that’s not fair. I say that as a fan…. Not the GM. If all the scouts and player evaluations say Sanders is your Guy, and he’s there at 21 you have to pull the trigger. There’s been many comments that he is Tomlin’s guy. Or Milrose. I truly hope this is not how they draft. Of course the HC has input. But the final decision should always be the GM. He should be able to hire and fire and draft who he sees fit. Only the owner should be able to override.

Maybe that’s a problem. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

I think best case scenario they get a strong prospect in third or later. If he pans out fantastic if not Meh draft another next year with strong capital.
You're assuming Art can react to what's in front of him, not his strong suit; 3 year minimum of making obvious player/personnel changes, he takes forever.

He took himself off, accepted invite earlier.
He did but we don't know why.. This was from a different article
"Dart's name on the initial list would lead us to believe he was expected to go in the first round. The fact that his name has been removed doesn't necessarily mean anything, but we could read into it that he's been told he probably doesn't expect to hear his name called in the first round."

He may not want to risk that embarrassing "sit there" waiting to hear his name called. I don't blame him.

did you see the Kyren Lacy story? the kid committed suicide a week before the draft after being charged with homicide after a fatal crash. The NFL didn't invite him to the combine due to the accident and the kid went in a downward spiral with the amounted pressure. I remember picking him in a couple of mocks, really sad

There is more to it. The fatal crash was a hit and run where he was driving. Prior to the suicide he got into an argument with his family shot a gun at the ground and fled. He was involved in a police chase and ended up shooting himself at the end. Definitely a tragic situation, but I do not think you can blame the NFL for not inviting him and his suicide is certainly not on the NFL.

For sure the kid had issues. How things can change in a split second if you make one wrong choice, from then it just was going down.

From an nfl rookie contract to end your life in a nightmare situation.

So now Dart and Milroe are expected to be first rounders but Sanders didnt get an invite...

I wonder if neon Deon makes his son sit out a year if he falls to the second round...
He declined the invite to stay at home with his family. Not an atypical decision and as a matter of fact...

When was the last time we've selected a green room attendee in one round???

IMO, Milroe will be a Saint. Dart will be a Raider and Shedur will be there at 1.21...

I still dont get the Pickett bashing. He did what he was supposed to in this offense. He barely threw INTs and had several 4th quarter comebacks which is not easy to do. His 4th Q passer rating was also much better. Pickett did not magically get better it was more the coaches deciding "oh we might need to try to score some points now." I do believe Pickett defied the coaches a few times such as the deep bomb to Pickens to win the Ravens game. Tomlin can sugar coat it all he wants, but there is no way you can tell me Canada was happy w/ that play based on his reaction. His ego was too big to even celebrate a huge play against our main rival. Pickett may turn out to stink, but the constant bashing of him from so called Steeler fans is unwarranted. No QB had a chance w/ the pee-wee offense of Canada / Tomlin.
Bruh... come on. Stop. Kenny threw 13 ints to 13 TDs.

He also has the happiest feet in the league which results in him getting Deebo'd and a concussion.

Yes, Coach Canada was terrible but Kenny had ONE GAME where he looked like an NFL QB. One...

No. He is a QB. Not a Taysom Hill type of player regardless of his talents.
