2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Do or go play golf. Well **** golf. I'm pissed at all of the nonsense that has gone on in these games. The senators are not the better team by far. The last time I was this mad is when Mario played and they mugged him relentlessly without a foul.

consider the last game a gift to Ottawa. I'm all out of charity, as I hope the B&G are, as well. Play and win like the better team. The NHL better hope Ottawa doesn't make it to the Finals because it will be a boring shitshow. They would have to ride Anderson and Karrlson hard and that's exciting as two turtles f'n.

The other thing I take issue with is the length of the season. These teams are worn out. When we get to this point, the injuries detract from the enjoyment factor of the games. There is no reason, other than loss of some revenue, that some of the early series can't be best of 3 or 5. We should not be crowning a Cup winner in June.

baseball is the same way, too many games. When it's snowing in the PO, change may be needed. June and hockey is strange.

I agree. I have faith the Pens will come out on top. The stars need to shine. That's why they get paid the big bucks. I expect them to put a handful in the back of the net.

Some days the Pens look gassed and some days they look really dominant. Just getting to the ECF on a shortened off-season, with impactful injuries is impressive. If the Pens win tonight, I'll be more than happy just reaching the finals back to back. This team really does have a lot to be proud of. It'll make for an interesting final. Both the Pens and Preds are banged up. Ottawa aside from Karlsson has no business in being in a final. The Pens outplayed them in game 6. Just gotta break Anderson and they can

If this game tonight goes south, I hope Sid and Geno go around cross checking guys in the back of the head, butt ending guys in the jaw and throw in a couple of eye gouges for good measure.

You hope the Pens best players intentionally injure others? I get being frustrated, but this is over the line.

As dumb as it is, I get that the refs just don't make calls in the playoffs. That said, this series especially and this playoffs in general around the NHL has been very poorly officiated. That marginally skilled teams like Ottawa can make the ECF by basically being allowed to play outside the rules, then take it to seven games by throwing the rule book out the window is an embarrassment to sports. The NHL needs to discipline officials for allowing this **** to occur, and they need to make their officials call the ******* rule book. Not my fault ****** teams like Ottawa would spend 40 minutes a game in the penalty box. Draft better, sign better free agents and try to keep up. Bunch a garbage, the NHL.

I don't know how anyone can say that this is good hockey or good for the league. This turns fans off, and is what keeps the NHL from growing in America.

This is correct. The New Jersey Devils have several cups because of this and a great goalie.

When you don't let the stars play like stars, on the biggest stage of your playoffs, you lose the interest of the borderline fans, and don't make new ones.

I would argue that the clutch and grab stuff, like Shrek/Sid get on every faceoff, is far worse than missing borderline calls behind the nets (at both ends). Watch the video of Shrek's goal last game, right from the faceoff. As soon as the OTT centre lost the clear hold on his stick, the beautiful goal was born.

I hope the productive Phyllis shows up tonight, because the Pens need production from him and a couple others given the expectation that OTT will continue to be able to hold Sid/Shrek (notice how Deebo gets the same treatment?)

Confluence,

When the attention to Sid and Geno are in full effect.

That's when new heroes like Rust, Bonino, etc; emerge.
Now I do agree the clutch & grab is getting annoying. It's all to drive ratings imo. Sports in general tries to cater to the casual fan, leaving the die-hards who know the game/rules frustrated. This series alone has shown a talent gap. I liked last years ECF cause you had two smart coaches in Sullivan and Cooper, who both fielded fast explosive hockey teams and great goaltending. Even though I thought the hit on Letang was cheap, Ryan Callahan in that series brought his A game in a respectable manner. There's a point to playing the game hard-nosed and right. Then there's the gooning it up and hope the refs swallow their whistles along with Ottawa's load.

I've never been so pissed over a hockey game than on tuesday. I really don't mind losing as long as it's in a fair respectable manner. To see guys like Tom Wilson, Marc Methot just go about borderline hurting players and the opposition getting tacky calls in return --- makes you go "hmm?" as a fan.

All that aside
Here's to winning the East tonight

Let's Go Pens!!!

We were around the office snack room talking about the game tonight and out of the blue one of our coworkers who never talks hockey jumps in. No ****, he flat out states he doesn't watch hockey but watched the game Tuesday night with his son who is taking an interest. Stated you could clearly tell the better team just by the passing and skill level but the other team was able to win by just by their physical attacks. Asked if all that's legal why invest in skillset when you just need biggest and strongest to fight for rebounds in front of the net. Can't argue with that....just go out and get 7-8 Oggie Ogelthorpes' in this league.

Pittsburgh Penguins ✔ @penguins
Coach Sullivan: "Hornqvist and Schultz will be game-time decisions."

They better bench Kunitz and put all the young legs they got out there. We need to motor 110% of the time

Archibald and Streit would most likely sit.

I like Archibald. He brings a speedy/physical aspect to the team. He was sloppy on tuesday however. He looked really good on sunday. So a complete turnaround. Hornqvist' net presence should bolster any chance to get pucks past Anderson. Shultz will improve the PP

Sheary off the ice well before Josh Archibald this morning. Could be back in tonight.

Kunitz is about our 15th best forward, but he's #1 in the hearts and minds of those in charge, so it doesn't matter.

In Sully we trust! He will push the right buttons. Keep the faith.

Archi and Hags speed is giving them energy, they pin Ottawa in their own zone a lot.

I don't see where Sheary brings anything, he's been horrible. Horny in, Archy out I could see. Not Sheary though.

I am not a huge kunitz fan but he has had a few good games especially in this series. He is doing the dirty work

I hear you.. wondering if the NHL is wanting a Canadian team in the cup for overall ratings.. It's been a while and I sure a lot tune out up north when it is 2 U.S. based teams

If the Pens don't get bodies back in front of the net tonight, 50 shots won't get them the win. Their goalie has shown to be too good when you just shoot on him. If he sees it, he stops it. We need to block his vision and deflect shots. If not, we will go home losers tonight.

I said this during the game on Tuesday. They could have had 75 shots, nothing was getting past Anderson when there was a clear path for him seeing the puck. They need to crash the net and give him fits. Freakin run him over if they have to. Get in his head and make his life miserable from the get-go.

They need screens in front of the net. Annnnd.....shoot blocker side. Any goalie will look good when 50 shots go directly into his chest. Kessel and Guentzel have Anderson beat all series; their shots are off by just inches

Have to agree with Indy though. Crosby is Captain Canada

Agree the blue line shots with nobody in front of the net are a waste of time...

The way I see it is if Anderson plays out of his mind and the Pens cant get 3 or more past him tonight the Pens lose. Murray has to be solid too.

It is what it is.

Damn right. It is what they endure game in, game out. Why not give some of it back if it is a sure thing you are going to lose? I hope it doesn't come to that, but I would hope the Pens dish out some pay back if necessary.

Let's get it boys! Game 7
Happy birthday to our goalie Matt Murray. 23 years young and a possible shot at back to back SCF appearances.
- Need the positive vibes on SN and at PPG
-I don't care if the Pens win by 1 goal or 20 goals. Just win

Here's to a rocking 1st period

Let's Go Pens!
