2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

I had to go back and re-watch it in a more relaxed mood - something really stood out in the 3rd - Malkin was ******* horrible!

Back to back to back turnovers led to their 2nd goal - lazy *** ****! His line's pathetic clearing attempts every time on the ice gave them all their chances
 
Malkin is horrible with the puck. He loses it way too often. He tries to take on the whole team instead of looking for the next pass, even then his drop offs and passing can be weak at times. He is talented, but does a lot that makes me smh. He could have cleared his zone several times and were weak attempts. I will give him a pass if he's still not 100% with that shoulder. Has to be why his clearing and passing is suffering.

I dunno, maybe he's feeling too healthy, just wants to skate through their whole team every time and gives it up with careless passes

anyway, I can't complain too much, we got outplayed for long stretches and still stole it in the end, coming back to Pittsburgh up 2-0 would be HUGE!

I know, right! 2-0 would be monumental. Split in the Burgh and I will be a happy man.

As far as Malkin, I just want him to make better decisions with the puck. TOs are killer, esp against the Craps. They can and will make you pay. Little room for error in this series.

He did have a strong 1st period. Shift by shift in the 2nd he started regressing.


As for saturdays game? I think the Pens can go up 2-0 in the series. Hearing Sullivans disappointment with some lines. I think this team is capable of a lot. They had Washington on the ropes for awhile there. Sustaining that play though can be hard. Washington was just gassed

In fairness the whole team started to regress or the Caps turned it up and we didnt respond. I think they got up 2-0 relaxed and the Caps came hard while Pens could not get back up to their level. Alot of players had weak / bad passes and lazy clears in the second half of the game. Just look at the shots on goal given up it went from 6 to 13 to 16. Another thing the Pens only had 21 shots on goal. Going to have to do better than that moving forward.
 
we did steal it. I've seen WASH play hard, but they let everything out there and still got a L. That last 4+ minutes was gut wrenching.
 
Way I see it, Caps played their best and lost, we played our worst and won - I'll take it!

Game day. I'm so amped up between the draft and today's game I could pop.

I want that same feeling in my own divided household! Wifey and her Caps fans buddies are already on the ledge. Go back to the Burgh down oh-two? They're gonna start jumping.

Definitely a different feel in Caps land this year leading up to this series. Definitely not the same level of chest thumping as last year. While I would've been happy with a split the first two before the series, oh my how I want to put them down two!
 
Let's get the win tonight boys. 2-0 series lead will have the enemy sweating bullets. The Pens look to be in the Caps heads. I enjoyed seeing the frustration in the Caps. Our guys have been retaliating though. So try to stick to hockey and skate past the caps.

As good as the caps look on paper, I'm still not awed by them. Someone threw a beer on ice after the game on thursday. Frustration lol
 
Lets hope we don't get those periods during the game where we try to flip the buck to the red line and Washington waiting continues to push on our net, drives me crazy. Skate and move the puck in our end, we put to much pressure on our defense and Flur. Start attacking and put the puck on net.
 
As much as I dislike the rags. That hit on Lundqvist was cheap
 
Pageu came to play. 2 goals scored. To pull Ottawa within one. 2:50 left
 
Good god...pens are stuck in the mud.. Going to give up 70 shots at this rate
 
That first period looked like hammered ***. So many lazy turnovers in your own end.

-MAF-- the guy is blocking everything right now
- Possibly seeing the Caps best right now and they still couldn't score

-Negatives-
- Everything, the skating is not there, bad turnovers, miscommunication. Stuff easily corrected

I was feeling nervous about this game. I'm finally starting to settle. I think the Pens can take this game. Get moving
