Things are pretty calm right now, but the calendar has flipped, so any thoughts for the upcoming season can be posted here.
Only about 6 weeks until pitchers and catchers report.
LET'S GO BUCS!!!

After the past few offseasons, I'm not going to comment much till I see them in uniforms at least... maybe there is some magic left somewhere

Neftali Feliz seems like a reasonable gamble. His advanced stats look decent for last season. I don't think we will have him start.

I wish they would have a clearer picture on Kang's return from his knee injury.

He is pretty much the key for the Pirates this season,

Surprised that Alvarez hasn't gotten a 1 year prove it type deal yet.

American league/DH teams have interest in him.

The guy hit 27 home runs last season.

He'll be employed by opening day, no question.

There are BS games being played among offering teams right now.

Heading to Bradenton in a little less than 3 weeks!

Out of curiosity, did you attend the Jim Leyland/Barry Bonds camps in the early 1990s?

From everything I've heard or read, those things were pretty epic.

anybody care yet?

too soon?

Still soon. But nice to see some Pirate action. I'm still stung by the wild card loss. I want to see the Pirates win it so bad. This roster is built for it. They dont need to just rely on McCutchen anymore

Cole is a good pitcher too which is what sucks

he can thank the CBA, or whatever MLB has.

he's gonna rake in arbitration....

or FA.

If I was Cole, I'd be pissed off too. That is some lowball bullshit on the Pirates part. What's a few more thousand dollars to a man like Bob Nutting?

Starts today with the Cards. The wife calls me a terrible fan because I don't expect much from the Bucs this year. Told her I'm being realistic. Burnett retired, Didn't sign Happ, Lost Charlie Morton. Niese and Vogelsong aren't equal replacements. Less pop at 2nd with the loss of Walker. Still no viable first baseman that can hit for average with some pop. Picked up Feese....yay!!! Should have a winning record, but no wild card this year.

DIRECT TV MLB FREE GAMES this week

I'm watching the Pirates first game!

Go Buccos

I expect more. Polanco in his 2nd year, Marte with more experience, Cole with more experience, Kang in his 2nd year once he returns. The worst 1st baseman in the history of baseball is gone. Tallion, Glasnow, and Josh Bell on the way. I expect huge things again this year. As far as losing Walker, I am fairly confident that Josh Harrison will have a better year at 2B both offensively and defensively than Walker's average year.

Melancon always gotta make it interesting.

victory is ours, sayeth the parrot.

Good first impression from Freese and Jaso. Good first win over the hated Cards.
