2016 Pirates thread

I thought the pirates were going to have a down year, then they came out and swept the cards and started 4-0. Since then they are 1-6. They are not getting the timely hits, starters are not making it through 5-6 Innings and the bull pen has been faltering. If the pitching doesn't shape up it will be a really long year. I don't think we have the bats to overcome poor pitching.

So much for the fast start.....

They dont straighten out the pitching soon we wont have to worry about Arrieta in the post season this year.

they figured out hitting again and had decent pitching around a couple hiccups....over.500 and off to the west coast.

Should take these next few series.. SD, AZ, CIN.. hopefully anyway. The pitching isnt good though. Besides Feliz, Watson, and Melancon are the only solid consistent arms in the pen.

It's still April. They had a bad April last year and ended up with 95 wins.

Neil Walker now has just 2 fewer home runs as the Pirates do as a team. I'm sorry, I still don't like that trade.

Man getting throttled by the lowly Padres again. Something told me to not bother recording the game tonight when I seen Locke was starting.

Unfortunately something was right.

Yah 98 actually. Starting bad cost them the division and the Cubs are showing no sign of slowing down. The pitching sucks.

'Cutch needs to grow his dreads back or something. Hell, Sean Rod is more of a threat at the plate right now.

It always seems to take him about a month to get his timing down.

The offense will be fine once he gets going and Kang returns.

The pitching is the issue at the moment, as they appear to be a quality arm or two short both in the rotation and the bullpen.

They really need Hughs back, as well as to consider having Vogelsong replace Locke in the rotation.

Vogelsong or Locke?

still not gonna get it done.

and the middle relief is a coin flip right now.

Taillon is killing it at Indy....I wonder how long the FO will resist calling him up if he continues.

I checked in on the game a while ago ... Bucs up 10-8. Check a few minutes later, now 10-10. At this point of the season, at least, this team can't hold a lead for anything.

Mother of god... Pirates scores resembling Steelers scores now...

Speaking of god, it might take an intervention from him to help this team fix this pitching disaster.

I thought it was against the rules to block the plate? Twice in less than a week the Buc's have been burned on that call. Both plays were obvious yet they called the runner out. I say they should go back to just blasting the catcher ala Pete Rose if it's done again.

3 bombs is a good slump breaker, Pirates are scoring runs, pitching needs to shape up, particularly Liriano

Pirates have internal reinforcements this year, Kuhl, Taillon and now Glasnow all pitching well at Indy

Getting out of April with a winning record would be great. Don't think we've done that the past few years.

The hitting has been amazing, just need to hit more with runners on base, as they have been the past 10 games, and the pitching really scares me, I hope they recover or can keep it somewhat together until Tallion and Glasnow are ready

Pirates rained out today. Taillon has another strong game for Indy 7IP 7K's 1 run.

Funny thing is Indy might have a better rotation than Pirates. Looks good for future.

They need bullpen help so bad. They better pull some crusty money out of their pockets and get someone. There HAS to be someone better in FA or on the trade block. Anything.

Thank God the offense is outstanding, the pitching is bad over all right now.
