2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Isles almost ended that. ******* Pens being sloppy
 
WTF has happened to Rust? He's back but his game is still on IR
 
Alright....Time for Sid or Jake to score on a breakaway and put the Pens up 1-0 in the series.
 


That sucked but I think the Isles gave it all they had and the Pens have more in the tank. We'll be alright
 
Clean up the slop. There's no reason the pens can't win this series. I fully expect a win next game.

Should have had this game but am confident the next one is ours... Will just have to live with the fire in the gut for 44 or so hours...F'n Pittsburgh sports... :)

So ******* sick and tired of Maatta. I don't understand why he's still on the team. He flat out SUCKS!!!
 
I thought the Pens had short stretches of brilliant hockey surrounded by long stretches of sloppy, mistake filled hockey. Even with that, they had a chance to win in over time. I believe they can win this series. They just have to clean it up.
 
Trotz used pretty much the same defense as he used with the crapitals. Set a 4 man barrier in the neutral zone and use one harasser to follow the puck. The Pens didn't solve it last year and didn't solve it last night. Pens lost the physical game as well. You just can't get muscled off the puck in the majority of battles.

Maatta, I'll be honest, I was happy to see JJ scratched. Man was I wrong. Maatta is too slow for the type of hockey the Isles play. He didn't engage physically in front of the net. Hopefully sitting Johnson put some fire in his belly and he will come out on a redemption tour. Johnson isn't exactly quick but he does clear the crease and engage along the boards.

One loss on the road, no big deal. Win tomorrow and we bring it home even. The Pens are the better team but I think the Islander want it more.
 
Even with the sloppy play, the Pens could have easily won that last night. We take Friday night's game and I'm confident in this series. The Isles capalized from the energy of the crowd. Friday should be different. We score a couple quick goals early, we should be able to bury them. Not crazy about Maata in there and Murray scared me last night. I'd play Johnson and sit Maata, that's if Gubranson and Dumoulin are good to go.

Just like the end of the regular season, so many grade A chances to score and nothing to show for it. Kessel had chances, Horny missed a shot I think I could have made.....And for the love of god Sully get Matta the hell out of there. He hasn't been very good since he got injured the other year. Hopefully they can get a win and split the series Friday night because if they don't then I am officially worried. They already checked off the two things I said they had to do to lose to the islanders. Let them get a early lead in games and get behind in the series.......
 
The Pens are what I thought they were.... sloppy and careless with the puck. They've been that way all year so I don't expect them to change now. If it were something that could be changed they would have changed it during the year. Even if they slip past the Isles they won't make it past the next round. The defense is horrible in front of the net, Murray struggles high and glove side, they get outhit, and they turn the puck over in their own end like they are afraid of getting hit. Yea, Phil missed an open net along with Horny but the Isles missed some as well. The first goal was a half a second off sides.

BTW TB chokes in the playoffs. Not surprised at all. They could easily lose the series.
