2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Carolina forced the Isles to pull their starting goal tender. 3-1 Canes with about 15 minutes to play in the 2nd period.

Penguins fans continue to be the only fans I've seen that continually want to trade away the teams best players. Will never understand that.

They aren't going to trade Malkin, Sid or Letang. Won't happen. And the probably shouldn't. But they need help and you have to trade something to get something. That or sign some FAs.
 
Way to go Canes! No big names or egos there, just a good team.
 
The Canes exposed the Isles. I hope the Canes win it all. They remind me of the Pens teams a couple of years ago. Tough and hard to play against.
 
Sp they spanked the team who spanked us. That's kinda depressing. I'm pulling for them,but not watching anyone now. Just score checking.
 
The Canes high energy style of hockey is fun to watch, rarely does anyone get caught out of position. Everyone plays a 200 foot game. Don Cherry probably isn't real happy as the "Bunch of Jerks", has proven everyone wrong. They were 80-1 to win the cup at the beginning of the season. Right now, they are the Vegas favorite. Team synergy carried the Golden Knights to the finals last year, same for the Canes so far. I hope the Pens are taking notice.

Maybe I'm just an old cynic but I don't think a majority of the team cares enough to take notice. They've won the Cup a couple times. Been there, done that. Great to watch a team play with discipline, grit and intelligence. Hope the Pens regain that sometime soon.

Pens have retooled before. With all the trolling GMJR has done in the media, I think he might actually get it. McCann and Bjugs are that type of player. I don't want to become the Canes, Islanders or LGK, just want to see some of their best practice copied. The Pens have to be harder to play against. A combination of energy, physicality and discipline is what it's going to take. I think the team will have 4 or 5 new faces after the draft. I just hope they are the right changes.

Looks like Boston can potentially wrap things up in Columbus on Monday. I have not watched more than a few minutes of that contest but was hoping CBJ could Boston's season in 6. Boston had other ideas. Go CBJ

CBJ looked really flat for some reason in game 5. Both teams were not very impressive. Tort was pissed afterwards too as usual. Hopefully they play better tonight.

If CBJ does win tonight a force a game 7 I don't think either one will have much of a chance against that rested Canes team.

Rest in the playoffs is a funny thing. Sometimes, too much of it seems to hurt more than it helps. I'm hoping CBJ makes them wait another few days and can win the series in 7.

something tells me we are going to see a BOS/SJ Final. I wouldn't mind seeing CAR get there and STL or COL, but don't think any of the west teams are as strong as SJ.
 
Blatant head hunting hit on a CBJ player (Anderson) by McElvoy and McElvoy got 2 minutes. He should have been ejected with a 5 minute game misconduct.

Head shots should be reviewable like with college football.
 
Barring a miracle, CBJ is done.
 
I guess I'm pulling for "the bunch of jerks". Carolina has made hockey fun. Not to mention I'd like to see a little egg on Don Cherry's face. No for Boston for a multitude of reasons. No on the AV's, Brassard doesn't deserve a cup. Beyond that I don't really care.
