2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Blue sticking up for Cullen and exacting some vengeance!

4-1 hoping we don't see a repeat of the Philly game.

Blue sticking up for Cullen and exacting some vengeance!

Loved the hit.

The team went back to sleep though.
Three break aways and got shutdown.

Murray is standing on his head again.

The Habs are living in our end. The defense is still an issue and Murray is going to have to keep standing on his head. Wish we could have buried at least one of those break aways.

Guentzel had price beat 5 hole on that break away.
Reese had a chance too. Malkin understandable, Montreal caught up to him

Almost have to expect that with 3 defensemen out though. Guys in there aren't used to this kind of ice time and in back to back nights.

Murray getting agressive coming way out of his crease..Like it! Some Flower-power going on there

McCann!

Great job Murray. I was worried when I heard he was in the goal tonight but he stood tall.

Great win on the road..Canadians never had a chance...

Murray held strong. Was some close calls.
Sid was trying his hardest to get Guentzel the hattie.

Jake is friggin en fuego. When he and Elwood are on, they can cause a shitload o havoc! Add the speed of McCann,,watch out!

Looks like the Pens are getting harder to play against. The forwards are getting back quick to cover the weak defense. I really like McCann with Sid and Jake. ZAR with Malkin is working. Kessel is more engaged but still not the sniper he needs to be.

Watching Gudbranson, he's slow to react. The delay in reaction forces him to rush transition and has lead to forced passes. We've been lucky that some of those didn't end up in the back of our net, He plays a simple game, almost like he has little confidence. In the right role he will have value.

5 out of 6 points in survival mode, better than I expected. Pens haven't played very well against the Panthers. It's a should win game and that is a worry.

Sid's playing some of the best hockey of his career, in both ends of the rink.

I think McCann will end up being the key to that big trade -- he was noticeable on the third line, and has enough skill to play on the first.

Gudbranson is now +2 as a Penguin! Kind of right place, right time for him last night (including a freebie plus on JG's faceoff goal), but I'm sure he'll take it

Gudbranson is slow, but he does a great job at boxing out his guy.
Murray should have better sight of the puck when Gudbranson is in

Finally some good new on the injury front. Dumo is back at practice. Letang and Maatta skated before practice.

I hope 2 of the 3 are back for the Blue jackets on Thursday. With all the offense the BJ's added sooner or later they are going to start clicking. Let's take care of the Panthers first.

He does put up a nice front. My only concern is he tends to retreat towards the crease after contact. I'm just being critical, we only have a small sample to look at. More time with Gonchar will likely fix some bad habits. I've liked his comments in interviews. He seems really receptive to coaching. Good guy, tries hard.....

Having this around helps too

Looks like the refs let that go hoping Bran could lay a few more solid shots.

What I wouldn't give to see that ******* knocked out in a clean fight. He has more than earned what will eventually come to him.

Gudbranson looked like he was gonna flatten him in that head lock.

Did I break the internet? Uh oh.

Edit: Reaves knocked him out of a game back in December.
Look it up. Reaves was after him all game. I think there are a handful of guys who can take Wilson.
They choose not too. There is going to be a day, Wilson is going to get him and some Caps seriously ****** up.

Defensive news in getting better. Dumo is a game time decision. Letang practiced (non contact) and Maata skated prior to practice. Hopefully they don't take the panthers lightly. We need these 2 points, especially since next week is tough, BJ's twice, Bruins and craps.

I still have a jar of Jaromir Jagr peanut butter. Still sealed.

That's 90's lol.

Game wise Pens look ok. Just need a goal. Bad penalty by Malkin early on, for the most part I thought they looked decent on the forecheck.
