2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

I like these young guys. They're fast and hustle.

Top shelf, another beauty 2-1

Jake is a badass. One more solid period to go. Looking damn good so far.

I’d prefer they kept Adam Johnson and Gudbranson up.

Crosby’s line is fun to watch.
ZAR’s line is looking threatening too.

Colorado is a pretty fast team

I'm done with Letang. 2 goals both because he misread the play. Terrible defense. Please trade him ASAP.

Ladies and gentlemen Elvis has just left the building!

Wow. As soon as we got that penalty in OT i had this penciled as a loss. That was an awesome end.

Little bit of luck on the game winner, but I’ll take it.

I don’t know what the **** is Letang’s problem. Guy is just bad defensively. Lapses and mistakes every game that either lead to goals or at the very least great chances the other way. It’s old.

Sid, on the other hand, is on fire. Dragging this team along again. It’s what he does.

Lucky goal but I'll take it. Letang is too iffy. He makes terrible mistakes on defense. How do you not take the pass away? The puck handler is almost on the boards... let him shoot from 20 feet away at a bad angle. You can't let that pass go through. Just horrible.

I really like these kids. They are fast and willing to take the hits. I'm really starting to like this core group. Sid is just playing great.

This team has "it" right now. I hope they keep this line-up. I just don't see how they can send these kids down when the older guys come back.

I was gonna say something before OT but didnt want to jinx em

Tanev is so smooth....thx Canucks, he fits

Letang has a lot of lapses, but he did win that icing race.

Fun game. A lot of speed and skill by both teams.

These WBS kids have it. Hopefully Haggerty gets a call up soon

What a friggin game! Yeah Tanger made some mistakes, but I put one of those more on Dumo missing the great pass.

I decided to break out my Winter Classic hat to start the season for good luck. So far so good.

It isn’t that Letang makes mistakes. It’s that he makes mistakes every damn game, and it is getting to be the same mistakes over and over. At this point he is more of a liability than an asset.

I saw they had Rikkola playing forward last night. Maybe Letang is the better option there, since he wants to jump in on offense all the damn time.

I got to see most of the 3rd and OT. This team is playing so well. Nothing really flashy, but just solid hockey. Got two tough ones against Dallas and Vegas back-to-back, but they have exceeded expectations to this point.

I know we need Malkin, but his absence has been fine. Keep 'er rolling!

All of the Letang stuff aside, this team is playing well right now. Considering all of the injuries, you have to be pleased as a fan watching it all unfold. The young guys have brought speed, energy and hunger. I worry that as the walking wounded heal up, return to the lineup and these kids get sent back down, it is going to mess things up.

Quite a pleasant surprise considering how the season started. Nice to see the team speed and defense improve minus Letangs WTF moments....

I really hope that the coaching staff is thinking about this, and not just Tomlining their way into bringing the others back. You go with what works, not with old hands because they are old hands. This team has put the league on notice. Let's not change that.

The problem is that Letang is going to cost them games. He almost blew this one. Both goals were scored either directly because of his stupid play or because he didn't read the play correctly. I understand players make mistakes but his mistakes always end up in the back of the net. I don't think they even score last night with his boned headed plays.

Is it me or does it seem most of this team's problems center mostly around #71 and #58? Maybe I'm too hard on them, but their play seems to be the most inconsistent and frustrating, at times.

Yeah. I really think that being a fan is causing conflict regarding Geno. He had a horrible year last year. He committed to a much better year, and even scored the team's first goal of the year. But, he disappeared after that. Not sure what is going on, but I doubt he will be gone. The other three on IR might be gone.

It's the old "bird in the hand, or two in the bush" thing. This current line-up is solid. The lines are real. Each one is a challenge to the opponent. Do we break that up? Can we improve it with the four guys on IR coming back? Tough spot to be in, but it's real. Geno needs to read the writing on the wall.

I like this current line-up. They are really playing like a team. It's the shot in the arm they may have needed. New, young blood like in 2016. We'll see if they can be consistent, but I'm impressed so far.
