2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

there was no way the refs were giving the Pens that goal. The refs would have needed an escort out of the building. It's a shame for the boys to lose like that, giving the Bolts two PP at the end of the game. They are too good not to capitalize. I was hoping for at least a point, but they played a good game, even a b2b.

Not that big of a deal. It's not a playoff game. They would have just went to OT to settle the score.

The crap part qas the lame penalty called at the end .

I don't understand why they don't have cameras on both posts and not just the crossbar.

However, you could clearly see the puck in the back of the glove and the glove was over. Use common sense from that point.

But you couldn't see how far the puck was over the line. Part of the glove was over and the puck was in the glove. You couldn't clearly see any part of the back of the puck. Just ask yourself how far it was over the line? You just can't see it.

The penalty call was BS. Horrible call.

Nothing on the trade? You guys are slipping. Pens traded Gudbranson to the Ducks for F Andreas Martinsen and a 7th rounder.

Reading that Martinsen was sent straight to WBS. Looks like a salary dump. Some of the wounded must be getting healthy.

I liked him. Lots of grit. Still, most of these young guys have that, so we are ok.

Busy at work :p

But disappointed that the Pens trade away their “enforcer” type guys.
I get playing a speed game is priority, but having a Reaves or Gudbranson helps when you play against the caps, bruins etc.

I don't really understand this trade. I guess they think they can out skate everyone? Just seems like a trade for the sake of a trade. Gudbranson wasn't a great players but he was about the only muscle on the defense. I just don't understand why trade for the guy in the first place? Why trade for players you know the coach won't use just to end up trading them again? What's the point?

I'm pissed that Gudbranson was traded. Not quite as much as when Reaves was moved but close. If you're going to have a tough guy, you might as well have one of the better one's. There is still a role (albeit shrinking) for an enforcer type. The thing that pisses me off is we never got to see Gudbranson fight as a Penguin. Good fights can swing a game, maybe prevent bad things from happening to your stars. You can't have Crosby, Letang or even Blueger fighting.

Look at recent history. The Philly Stadium game and the aftermath. Evander Kane standing in front off the Pens bench and basically calling the entire team out and no one answering. Most games against the craps. Finesse is great but finesse players need room, physical play provides space. I'm speaking post Reaves, pre Gudbranson.

I get it. We needed the Cap space and he was expendable in Sully's system. Not having hard hitting North and South guys is a flaw in Sully's system. Teams take liberties when they know there are no consequences. I preferred to keep the "fists" on the wing rather than defense as mistakes usually aren't as costly. Reaves was a better fit but what's the difference, both are gone.

The move was purely a Cap dump. We got back a 2021 7th and a guy that will hit but really can't play hockey. It did give us about $3.55M in Cap space. GMJR has money and he is going to spend it. I'll wait to see how the rest of this plays out.

I think they needed the cap space for the return of veterans. They are going to have to make more room to bring Malkin back. I think DK’s site had an article about it. Maybe I completely misunderstood it. But I think they are going to have to make more moves.

it was definitely to free up cap space. Anaheim needed a Dman and ANA took on all of his $3.5M salary is impressive so GMJR can make another move or signing. I liked Gdbranson and his grit, but they must have faith in Rikola and Ruhwedel.

Pens waived Zach Trotman.

Swoosh 3-0 on dallas. My favorite number here is zero. Hope Sid is ok. His mellon doesn't react well to trama.

We must be cursed or something.
Our guys are getting pelted by pucks this season.

Sid’s sequence was scary. Glad he returned, but damn my heart about stopped.

I'll check back in January

lol

Looks like the band is getting back together. Dumo, Galchenyuk and with a drumroll...…..Malkin all practiced today. DK says Malkin would like to be back fully on Saturday.

I'll be glad they are back. Hopefully they can stay healthy. I'd rather watch hockey than the NFL these days. As far as I know there is no way to cheat in hockey on a mass scale.

Do like the nfl and make biased calls

No knuckle biting, no yelling obscenities at the TV, no veins sticking out of my neck and forehead...this game is boring. ;)
