2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Keystone cops in their own end. 2-0 Bahston.

Maybe a good night to go to bed early. 4:45 comes awfully early

Bad puck luck so far. That and being out played.

Raccoon!

Rusty!

JM!

Excellent goal by Marino. In front of his family to boot. Good for him.

These guys sure as hell are scoring a lot this year. I have no idea what period 3 will bring. A few more goals and giving up zero would be optimal.

That sucked. From leading 4-3 to losing 5-4 in just a few minutes. The defense is horrible at times.

Geno is done. He just isn't an asset anymore.

Well i went from yaay to @^$&!***!^!%@^# ..@%$&!&$*!^×÷<><&>.... in a few minutes. Beat by a Brad bad...bleh

Nothing worse than losing on what amounts to an own goal. That was rough.

As far as Malkin, he just isn’t that guy anymore. Not sure what it is. Maybe he just isn’t happy, maybe it’s his line mates, whatever. He’s just a guy at this point.

He’s slow at the puck. No sound decision making like yesteryear. He’s a shell of his former self.
Rust is carrying that line

I just sat there and waited for it to happen....

Letang going down had a lot to do with that 3rd period debacle. Here we start to go with the injuries again. All the old guys with the exception of maybe (hopefully) Sid end up injured as the year drags on. Still all in all I like what we have seen from this team so far. The last couple years that 3 goal lead in the first would have been the end of the game.

Bad Geno appeared again last night. I don't get why he thinks he can go through the whole team, then loses the puck and it winds up in the back of the net. If any one player doesn't play the team game, it's him. That goal from Krugg was him trying to do too much. . . again! The Pens had the Bs on the ropes, all they needed was a knockout punch and they let them hang around and knock us out. Very disappointing! The Bs are too good to give them an inch and the Pens gave them two.

When you're up by 1 goal with less than 10 minutes left in the game you need to shut it down. Defense should be #1 priority. Get the puck out and down the ice. Don't worry about scoring. Get the puck deep and cycle it. Bad Geno likes sexy passes and trying to do to much. I'd rather the 4th line out hitting and playing solid defense.

Bummer of an outcome but entertaining hockey game.

Our goaltending let us down last night...
Jarry was terrible...Murray seemed like he was playing with one eye shut

I'll wait a little longer to pile on Malkin. This was only his 4th game of the season and he was held to only 15 minutes of ice time. Keep in mind I wanted to trade him last year. I'll give him another 3 weeks to mend his game.

The elephant on the ice was goaltending. Both were bad. 3 of the Bruin's goals were bad angles, that with proper positioning would not have gone in. Murray seems to have no middle ground. He is either fantastic or awful. I wonder if he will ever find himself for long enough to be great. Jarry missed his moment as he has consistently done since he was drafted. The two of them give be a headache.

This team has changed. The past two years my number one complaint was the lack of effort. I can't say that so far this year. The energy is there and I hope it lasts. Now Hornqvist is on IR and Letang may be out with a (groin) ? All I want is 10 healthy games to see what we actually have.... next man up

Ok, I won't pile on Geno until we see some more film on him after his absence. I agree on the goalie play. Very average. Murray looked lost and Jarry let in two goals from ugly angles.

That's the biggest problem. Letting in goals when you're screened and it's hit with a stick is one thing.. letting in goals from almost behind the net is another. Both goalies were horrible. Jarry's two goals were just baffling. How do you not hold the post when that is the only shot?

I'm very disappointed in both of them.

I'm still holding onto that keeping MM was the right move rather than MAF, but it does get harder and harder to stand behind. Sometimes Murray can come up big and be a wall, but that is becoming few and far between. He's just not a game changer. Mike Smith outplayed him. Jarry, I don't think he'll ever push MM. To let that Little Rat score really stings. Krugg's goal was just as painful.

Both Murray and Jarry are Restricted Free Agents at the end of this season. Sure glad I'm not the one setting contract value. Reports have Murray looking for north of $7M. Thankfully we have a long season left to sort this out. I want Murray to be a true franchise goalie but I'm just not certain it is there.

$7M?? I guess that's the going rate for the starting NHL goalie. Before I commit to that, I'd see who is out there or the length is 2-3 years. Nothing long term.
