Whoa, electric first pick, Slash!

16 Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
Not the direction I wanted to go, but I plan on signing a RT in free agency and he was the best on the board at a position of need. Nice combination of shutdown CBs.

47 Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georgia
A few years too late, but finally grabbing a center.

78 Devontez Walker, WR, UNC
Size and speed too good to pass up in the third round.

112 Mekhi Wingo, IDL, LSU
Continuing to add depth to the DL.

117 Braden Fiske, IDL, Florida State
See above

174 Tykee Smith, S, Georgia
Trying to build depth at safety.

208 LaDarius Henderson, OL, Michigan
Figured I'd take a chance at a player from a school that usually has a strong offensive line.

I did some no brainer trade downs in this..
I assume Mims will trend higher so we probably won’t get that luxury, but hey, hopefully we have a glut of picks from trading dead weight

25.Amarius Mims OT Georgia
Bookend tackles from Georgia

47.Donovan Jackson OG Ohio State
Now Daniels can Move to C

58.Xavier Worthy WR Texas
DJ’s replacement… hopefully we get another premiere player for DJ in a trade

78. McKinnley Jackson DT Texas A&M
Later than I wanted a DT, but can’t be picky

112. T.J. Tampa CB Iowa State
119. Khyree Jackson CB Oregon
Back to back CBs because we need em

174. Luke Reimer LB Nebraska
I don’t like this LB class.. wish we nabbed one last year, but this is Tomlinesque Late

185. Moose Muhammad III WR Texas A&M
Another WR for the room

208. Xavier Watts S Notre Dame
I don’t think this guy will be available this late, but a steal if he is..

I also picked up a 2025 KC 3rd…

Lets be honest though, we are taking a late round QB for sure… I am guessing Taulia Tagovailoa QB Maryland is Burgh Bound… brother of NFL star, played at Alabama and Maryland… hell we will be lucky if Tomlin doesn’t draft him in the first round instead of tge sixth or seventh 🤣

Whoa, electric first pick, Slash!

I expect that guy to be off the board. I think if there you have to go with a prospect that looks like a clear upgrade.

Otherwise in 1 I might shift to RT,CB, or perhaps a direction that might be a surprise for some a WR.

Man
We need more draft picks than that!
I totally know in my head that we are magically going to win two or three games down the stretch to ruin the draft picks, like we ALWAYS do… but if we are drafting rather high, id’d definately trade down for more picks.. I would also trade DJ and maybe two olinemen as well….

I suspect that by the time the draft rolls around, after the combine and the personal workouts, there will be a run on the QBs high in the draft with 4 or 5 going in the top 12-15 picks. Just a hunch. 1983 all over again if QBs were as important then as they are now.

Made a couple trades and a risky pick (reached at 53 for Lassiter) but overall I could live with this draft.

Your top two picks are my preferred targets at those spots… i like that DT Sweat in the second, but that dude is a Cowher DT not a Tomlin DT unfortunately

so I don't get the point of drafting under this coaching staff so I only drafted two players and traded every other pick for 2025 picks.

2024 picks

133 Maason Smith T, LSU
147 Rickey Parcell WR, FL

2025 picks

3 first round picks............PIT, Texans, Bears
5 second round picks.....PIT, LV, NE, SEA ,BUF
4 third round picks..........PIT, Bears, SEA, AIR,
2 fourth round picks.......PIT, Lions
2 fifth round picks...........PIT, TN
1 sixth round pick............PIT

I keep trading till this coaching staff is gone or I'm fired lol. 2026 could see us with a bunch of first, second and third round picks.. I might get fired after this year but it would be a fun draft in 2025.. Let the games begin....

Sorry men..
A little too early for me ..
Hell! We got three games at least to play yet!

The off season till draft is a lengthy period.. there will be more than enough time to play with a stimulator ..

    PIT

    Rome Odunze
WR Washington - no way do you pass on this talent in Round 1. IMO he's a Day 1 starter.
  • 47.
    PIT

    Shedeur Sanders
QB Colorado - I don't care what ANYONE says - this kid has heart and he's accurate. Yeah, yeah his daddy was a showboat. So what. We need someone to push Kenny if he stays on the roster.
  • 70.
    PIT

    Sedrick Van Pran
OC Georgia - Do I really need to spell this out??? Buh bye Cole...

  • 132.
    PIT

    Brandon Coleman
OG TCU - I was never totally sold on Daniels and we need new blood up front.
    trade icon
  • 164.
    PIT

    Jordan Jefferson
DT LSU - How we continually miss on the DTs from LSU astounds me. Plus, methinks Heyward hangs them up this offseason...

    PIT

    Fentrell Cypress II
CB Florida State - We haven't picked a bust at DB since Artie Burns and I like this kid's moxie.
  • 206.
    PIT

    Malachi Moore
S Alabama - Say it ain't so!!! Malachi is a another playmaker from Tuscaloosa. Insurance in case Minkah misses time again...

16 as much as I wanna take Daniels they will change the playbook and scheme, I hope for more RPO style or hybrid of the Ravens and Jags, get the slants deep crosses back in te drags clear outs back in scrap all the motion bs Canada installed.
So I go with the biggest need and plug in play RT JC Latham Bama
48 Do we get lucky with another solid penn ST DB Kalen King, and you look in fa for a real nickel C
80 G/C Zinter has all the traits of a Steelers power run OL that you can say he will remind you of Decastro, Faneca, and Pouncey. Take him and convert him from RG to C
rnd 4 ILB Junior Colsen, we need Speed and coverage as well as high IQ at MLB even if we get both the 2 ILBs back, both coming of knee injuries Depth is needed are its aging group
rnd 5 QB Pratt has traits that with the help of a external hire could be groomed to really eventually be a back up.

My plan right now would be after cutting Chukes and a bunch of scrubs sign Minshew 2 years 11 million, thats a legit competition or because the core on D Watt Heyward Minkah are a bit aged you in for a vet that with a few tinkering gets you the division and possibly more Cousins 2 years 36 mill, add 2 wr.
Or trade for Fields and install a similar RPO system the EAGLES CHIEFS JAGS RAVENS RUN MAY THE BEST QB START

My first mock of the year. Mocks this early are just to get familiar with some of the names out there as we still don't know who will be in the draft or how they tested.

On face value, I can't see some of these guys being available but maybe they will. I actually like this draft. My only thing is I haven't seen any top DL available at our draft spot or the draft sites just don't have any of them ranked that high yet. I think DL is still a spot we should look at in the first round. Benton looks like he will do well but Cam is on his way out. Ogunjobi is too up and down. No one else on our DL looks any better than depth pieces right now. We need a starter that can seriously help stuff the run. Murphy in RD 4 isn't bad for that spot. Trotter at ILB in the 2nd isn't tall but he can do it all. Van Pran is our new starting C. Rice in the 5th is a steal in my mind. He is an athletic freak with bloodlines. He can work on his route running. That's teachable. Neal in the 7th is also a nice grab. He has the speed and quickness. He probably won't be a 3 down back but he's a major change of pace guy.

They tend to snag your players if you pick a few of the same ones. As they just picked some QBs and WRs I liked. I see them! 😅
