2024 draft simulator.

The only issue is Tomlin doesn’t like true NT types… he wants guys who can play multiple techniques…
Yeah. Stackhouse runs more like a traditional NT. Don’t see his strengths utilized unless the Steelers change their defensive philosophy

18.
Michael Penix Jr.
QB Washington

Brings solid competition to the most important position.

49.
PIT
WR Legette
South Carolina

I like Legette as a prospect. His speed is legit too.

113.
PIT
Jackson Powers-Johnson
OC Oregon
Cole needs some competition.

119.
PIT
Cam Hart
CB Notre Dame

I would grab a corner in free agency and let Wallace walk on top of drafting Hart.

177.
PIT
Nazir Stackhouse
DT Georgia

Steelers are potentially down a NT.

210.
PIT
Xavier Watts
S Notre Dame

Adds much needed safety depth.

Ajani Cornelius
OT Oregon

A tackle to throw on to the woodpile.

Oops left off the first number.😅

49 was for Legette..

We need t draft a DLman before the 6th round to be sure, surely before a SECOND CB!

I kind of like the idea of having two stud CBs to go with our stud OLBs. QBs nightmare. I wouldn’t oppose the Steelers drafting a CB in the 1st round.

I’m thinking he goes #1 overall.
Penix was sitting there for our 1st round pick and I took him. If he has even a good game in the championship, he has to be a top-10 pick. If he were to slide to our pick, I would have no problem if they picked him and had a nice competition next year for the starting job.

Draft Buzz has him at #9 and the fourth QB.

Umm, yea I didn't object to the FIRST CB pick, but this draft has us taking ANOTHER CB in the 4th, BEFORE we draft a DLman. That sh-t ain't gonna cut it. Cam is on his last legs, some would debate if they should even bring him back at his high $22 mill salary in 2024. At this point, can he possibly be giving us $22 mill worth of value? Highly doubt it. After Cam we have Benton, a promising rookie from this year, and? Who else? Larry O, if his foot isn't all jacked up. And...? Leal, if, whatever position is the right fit, I still don't know what position that is and neither does the Steeler staff, apparently. Adams? Serviceable I guess. Loudermilk? Sigh, I guess. Wren?

Face it we need DL help, a lot more than we need TWO more CBs, we practically used a 1st rounder last year on 1 (Porter). I don't have a major problem with them using another pick on a CB, but not TWO before we use a pick on the DL, as this draft projects.

I wouldn’t oppose a DL in the first round either if that was the BPA. Speaking of which, is DeMarvin Leal an official bust?

trenches before anything! Leal has been a healthy scratch right?

Ummm, I don't know: 1 sack, 29 total tackles after 2 years. Not really on a "bright trend" to stardom so far, but Cam took 3 years before he got going (2.5 sacks, 31 tchs after 2 years) so...I got beat up for mentioning Leal seems like a tweener with no position after last year. I mean the guy went from DT to OLB in 2022. If he's not a bust, he's working towards it. But some fans think Kenny hasn't played enough to from an opinion on him, so....I guess Leal is in the same boat.

If there has been on trend in the Tomlin/Colbert era that's a flaw, it has been ignoring the trenches too much in drafts.

They've let the OL go to crap TWICE so far; I guess once wasn't enough to learn from it (The 1st time was 2007-2010 which didn't end until they drafted Pouncey and Then DeCastro early). Yes, they won a ring in 2008 but that was with leftover OLmen. Then, after the rebuild of the OL in the early teens, they let it turn to crap once again and have just now started to rebuild it with Jones as the 1st real piece. Allowed 10 years to pass. Up until now, it's been a sh-t show with trying to put the OL together with 4th round retreads. (Moore has never been more than a backup but that was our LT for 3 years).
