Did anyone else see Ben get "hit in the head" by the defender??? Why wasn't there a flag???

I'm going to find some pics online...

I saw it...didn't think it was worthy of a flag. Brady probably gets that call.

I did see it.. Wondered why it wasn't called but then realized that Martavis had been getting raped on every contested pass to him with no call, so stopped even questioning it

I saw it, but not until the replay. Not sure I can get on them for that one, it seemed minor.

It doesn't matter man. The game technically was over the moment Burfict laid out Brown with a cheap hit.

It was officially over when Toussaint fumbled. He holds on, I think the Steelers sneak away with one. At full strength (IF and that's a BIG IF) Williams would have been able to recover by then I think we would have been able to take the P*ts. As it is, they win. Again.

They'll cheat in Foxboro - despite the fact they won't have to against Manning who is flat out ******* terrible. And they'll cheat in the Superbowl.

Aquib Talib raped Martavis all night with zero calls. Some players just get away with it. I don't understand it.

As for Ben, he could be bent over the opposing bench and *** raped for the whole game and the officials wouldn't call it. He is perceived as a player who is "bad guy" and I (wait for it conspiracy theories to follow) believe is thought to deserve a little extra abuse. Maybe it stems from the whole "rape accusations". Maybe it's from his ability to escape and play "backyard ball". IDK, but he often overlooked when players rough him up.

There were many penalties not called. On the replay of the Fitz fumble, he got punched in the nose prior to fumbling. I believe that is considered a facemask or illegal hands to the face and should have been a penalty. The dude had his nose taped up after the game from the punch.

Officials call penalties based on reputation. If a CB is known to be good, they're going to let him do whatever the hell they want because he's "supposed" to be great.
Talib is considered good around the league and therefore he's allowed to do pretty much whatever he wants, same goes for Sherman and some others.

That's my take on it.

I'm not gonna sit here like a bungholes fan and blame the officiating because that's not the reason the steelers lost. However, in a league where the refs are just itching to throw a penalty flag on just about every play, how can you tell me that Denver only committed 2 infractions last night? There were two pass interference calls that I thought were as obvious as could be; the martavis Bryant play in the endzone, where that ***** talib held his arms down AND the bear hug that Brandon Marshall had On Heath before the pass was even close to him. The Bryant non-call was especially bad because of where it would have taken us. There were some talking heads that said that this Denver defense is on par with some of the greatest of all-time(the 85 bears, the 70s steelers, etc). Perhaps I'm crazy, but I just do not see it. With how hamstrung our offense was last night, we abused them yet again. Sure, they made the play in the end, but I don't see how the patriots*** don't manage to win next week.

I saw a ton that denver did that didnt get called, but we got some non calls as well. It would havce been nice if either of the two PIs in the end zone had been called or the third down maulings of Miller, but you have to play through the refs no matter what... That wasnt the problem letting the wind get in our heads and going ultra conservative for a quarter were...

We are turning into the damn NBA.

The Patriots certainly have a chance to win but as I said in another comment, we match up better against the Donkeys. The Cheatriots don't have anyone that can take the top off the D. We have several players. The Cheats dink and dunk the entire time. Denver will play close to the line and hit them in the mouth. The problem will still be the Donkey's offense. Can Peyton score any points. He had one drive against our D for points. If Manning can put up 24 or so, I think they win but it may take their D or special teams to assist in getting that 24+.

The play with Ben reminded of a play many years ago involving Manning playing the Eagles in Philly. Night game, so the fans were all well oiled. I was invited to the game and since it was at night and I didn't miss the Steelers, I went. Anyway, an Eagle brushed Manning in the head and the flags flew. The place went nuts. Almost unglued. It was fun. But it was called there.

See, that is my issue. If it is a foul on the books, call it or take it off the books.

How was the play in the end zone on the 4th and 1 to Wheaton drastically different that the call last week on Allen against A.J. Green? Neither defender had their head around and played the ball.

Bryant never gets a call. Starting to remind me slightly of Harrison all those years being held.

One call that was clearly blown was when they let Manning get up off the field to complete a pass after blatantly giving himself up on the play. That was the worst call of the game IMO.

That one was huge, but i wouldn't say blatant. He got up right away, but at one point it looked like he tucked the ball under him on the ground. It was an iffy call. The defender was also like an inch away from touching manning. It is definitely a game of inches.

Different rules for different players...ala the NBA. Been going on for a while now...since Rog got his hooks in the league. I bet Stern is his ******* hero.

I'm not going to criticize the officials, as there were some questionable calls and non calls on both sides.

Miller and Bryant catch those passes deep in Broncos territory the first half that would have resulted in first downs or big plays and Toussaint holds onto the ball, the Steelers win.

Ugh if I go over one more "If only ______ and _______ happened we would have won!" scenario in my mind, I might scream

I really just need to turn this off. We aren't going to the AFC championship game no matter how much we love this team. Best of luck to those teams left (Except the *s, **** them), we'll see them next year

Pats beat manning easily. He is ineffective now. But pats versus zona or panthers should be a good game.

Agree with you all regarding Peyton's fall down. They punted back to us on that drive so it didn't really affect the game too much. I still think he should have been ruled down!

I agree. There were a couple of borderline calls and I thought the Manning "giving himself up" was actually the worst. Wheaton had the chance to make a big play on fourth down and didn't. Miller had two drops. Bryant's drop as well as you mentioned. Even if all of these things stayed the same, if Toussaint secures the ball, I think we win 16-12 or 16-15.

On the flip side Denver dropped several important passes as well. The Wrs sure did not help out yesterday. Just sloppy offense for both teams.

I did mention this in another thread, but given the context of the game at that point, I think three points was enough.

Looked to me like Manning tripped. I thought the ref's got that call right, but i can see where they could've called him down easily too, with the way the rule is written.
