Not a fan of the way the US is playing this third period. Too much sitting back defending.

More Canadians were irked that the Loafs weren't on the teevee last night than cared about a contrived "international" tourney that doesn't have the international people/teams involved in the NHL former Allstar break thingy.
 
Hope that tonight's Gary Bettman's Canadian guys vs Gary Bettman's USA guys is entertaining.

It's good for the NHL to catch some excitement post SB in the dead of winter, when basketball is still boring before March Madness, and baseball is doing whatever it does.

Maybe they will return to the Canada Cup format with each nation picking its best team, the Russians included, and with proper team practice/bonding, more like the Olympics:



Great Championship goal with the two best players in hockey history, against an incredible Russian team.

Canada playing pretty solid and focused tonight. US not getting much momentum. They might need to stir things up a little and get them off their game
