Well, that sucks.Najee will sign with the Chargers soon
Hopefully a large contract, then another comp pick possibly coming Steelers way...Najee will sign with the Chargers soon
That second round tender is 5.5m. He's not getting paid, could easily pay both.He wasnt coming back... they put a second round tender on Warren... they werent paying him and Najee... if someone signs warren we get a second rounder to get a new RB...
The market spoke and was not very flattering of his skillset. One year is no commitment.1-year, up to $9.25 million for Najee
5.5 would currently put him in the top16 of RB contracts.... for a rb, that is paid...That second round tender is 5.5m. He's not getting paid, could easily pay both.
Jeanty or Hampton will be our pick if they are there IMHO.Plenty of young fast RBs in the draft
Jim will turn him into a machine.hes a perpect Jim Harbaugh back
Both will be very good players, but also a terrible use of a first-round pick given the current roster.Jeanty or Hampton will be our pick if they are there IMHO.
I am leaning the other way on that now. I think it may be the most important thing needed other than a QB on offense. We need a back that brings the one thing Najee never did, a homerun threat along with size. Couple that with two receivers who demand double teams, and we may not need a great QB just better than we had and capable of seeing over the line. Both will be very good players, but also a terrible use of a first-round pick given the current roster.
Source: Chargers reached agreement with former Steelers RB Najee Harris on a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million.
I’m gonna say it’s cause “we don’t blink”So here is what I think is a million dollar question. You give 5 million to Warren. It wouldn't have been much more then that to pick up Harris option. In essence you chose Warren over Harris. So someone explain to me why when the chips were down last year season on line they didn't really go with Warren? What changed in 3 months here.
Even the 2nd round tender to Warren doesn't tell me they want him as RB1. I think they like him in the role that he is. $5m for your backup/change of pace/third down back isn't bad at all. So I think they are looking to draft RB1 and replace Harris. IMOSo here is what I think is a million dollar question. You give 5 million to Warren. Maybe so. But they clearly want him on the roster and they did not want Harris. So why not have looked at it for real.Even the 2nd round tender to Warren doesn't tell me they want him as RB1. Unless we extend Warren we are right back in this same spot next season. Or do they expect to draft a starter this season? So here is what I think is a million dollar question.
