75 million dollars for 4 plays. Wow. Winning.Rodgers had a "calf injury" during training camp...I would love to know whether it was really calf or Achilles related injury that he exasperated last night. He looked awkward when he was throwing in warm-ups like he was trying to keep weight off of his leg. The NFL needs to ban field turf...too many marquee players are getting injured. I am surprised with the amount of money that franchise players are getting that the owners are not against field turf. The Jets are now paying 75 million dollars to Rodgers for 4 plays, and that injury does not happen on natural grass.
Years ago there was a study that showed that there’s no increased risk of injury on turf. I don’t know if there have been subsequent studies.Preliniary reports are that X-Rays on the ankle were negative but that's the good news. The bad news is they believe Aaron Rogers has a Torn Achilles tendon and Head Coach Robert Saleh indicated so in his post game when asked if it was his Achilles he said "It's not Good". Indicating preliminary reports that Rogers indeed has a serious Achilles injury. MRI tomorrow will confirm what they suspect but if you watch the replay you can see his left foot firmly on the turf and his ankle and leg entended forward towards his toes which would put tremendous pressure on his achilles and it most likely tore at that point.
Met Life Stadium is a newer stadium but there is a history of season ending injuries occuring on that field.....WTF hasn't the NFL banned Artifical Turf or whatever the **** they call it?
The NY Jets are just a Snake Bitten organization.....I think the only team that might have a worse track record is the Cleveland Browns but man the NY Jets just can't catch a break!
Ian Rapoport just reported on Twitter that it is indeed believed to be a Ruptured Achilles and that Aaron Rogers is done for the season!
man trade a 2nd rd pick to get 4 games out of him, that's gotta sting
The study that everyone points too was paid for by "FieldTurf" the company to show that their product was equal to or better than grass. They omitted any injury that could have occurred on grass the same as on the field turf. The study was a farce at best.Years ago there was a study that showed that there’s no increased risk of injury on turf. I don’t know if there have been subsequent studies.
Lol i bet it was generic injuries not specifically knee and ankle ligaments…in a study sponsored by astroturf because almost every horrible one I’ve seen has been from turf… it doesn’t give like grass does… a slight pull or sprain on grass becomes a devastating injury on turfYears ago there was a study that showed that there’s no increased risk of injury on turf. Wow i was being sarcastic… but that really was what it was, huh?The study that everyone points too was paid for by "FieldTurf" the company to show that their product was equal to or better than grass. Yeah, I used to have a copy of the study on an old computer or hard drive and can't find it right now. If I find it I will post it. You have to go to the very back and very fine print to see the limitations and exclusions for the study. It was a complete and total sham of a study.Wow i was being sarcastic… but that really was what it was, huh?
This is another one published in The Lancet earlier this year that backs it up.The study that everyone points too was paid for by "FieldTurf" the company to show that their product was equal to or better than grass. parityHe's done for the year. That's terrible for Jets fans and the NFL for parody in the AFC. This is now Buffalo and Miami's division to fight for. The Jets will retreat to obscurity and disappear from contention.
just busting your balls, docNot saying that. Stating I've probably seen 3 or 4 fully torn Achilles and never seen anyone walk under own power.

Supposedly that is brand new turf installed this spring…but it could be the type of turf they installed toospecifically that turf at metlife stadium, there's something ESPECIALLY screwy going on with that field. a BUNCH of players have had season-ending injuries playing on that surface over the last 2-3 seasons.
