AB's Punt Return

He shouldn't have been a showboating fool to begin with, then he wouldn't have to worry about it. Too many idiots on this team. Idiots, washed up vets and draft pick busts - that's what the Steelers are made of.

Where was he showboating? He was trying to jump over the dude so he could get into the end zone. The kicker went low. AB went high. On AB's way down, he stepped on his face.

Look, I'm not saying he was intending to kick him in the face, I don't think that. It was just dumb. I don't think he's dirty, I'm just saying he's lucky he wasn't ejected. I don't think there will be a suspension, or should there be. But I do think he can expect a fine around $25,000.

Remind me who the other top five receivers that return punts. And why exactly we drafted Archer? Oh yeah for his blocking!!!!!!

Rod Woodson was returning punts when he was arguably the best CB in the game....

I want my best playmakers with their hands on the ball as often as possible.

I couldn't help but think he had just stolen some Swisher Sweets and assaulted the store owner.

It truly was glorious. We spent at least 10 minutes rewinding it over and over including all the network's replays. It was totally worth the 15 yards. I think it was a my favorite play since Stonio's SB catch. I've been trying to come up with one that I enjoyed more since '08 and I can't right now. It was just awesome.

And forty years before that, the best players played both sides of the ball. When Woodson played they just instituted the salary cap. Its simply math. You are risking one of your best players for an extra how many yards of punt return average? Still waiting. Top five receivers that return punts. And don't even bring up Welker. He is like Ward (who i think the world of as a player) but he is a scrappler. Brown is a thoroughbred. You don't have your Kentucky Derby horse pull a plow.

All I know is that gif file will be played on this board a million times when someone finds it and I will laugh at it every single time.

I can't believe anyone is questioning ABs intent. So what? This harkened back to the glory days, you know, back when this team actually had some attitude. Ward knocks gold teeth out of a player's mouth, AB makes a spectacular move. Frankly, I would have liked to see AB's foot go through the player's head. About damn time we had some ******* attitude and emotion on this team!! Hell yeah. Enough ***** ball.

Why is it beyond stupid to have him back there? If he cuts it to the left he has a TD. He's one of the best returners in the league period. He's paid millions of dollars, he obviously loves returning kicks, what's the problem? Oh wait he might get hurt, he could get hurt any play he's on the field.

Some people like to point out every little negative thing this team does and we have someone great at what they do, yet we find reasons that sucks or is stupid as well.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to nooneuno again.

I would imagine that Russell Wilson and RGIII are the most elusive players on their team. How about them?????

Russell Wilson more elusive than Percy Harvin? RG more elusive than Desean Jackson or Pierre Garcon? Your attempted point is stupid. You don't take a pro bowl returner out of the role because he might get hurt. You'd have to take him out of the game completely for that. He's more likely to get hurt during normal offensive snaps (the 50-60 or so he's see's per game) than the 3-4 he's gonna see as a punt returner.

No, AB most certainly did NOT jump in the air with the intention to kick the Clowns punter in the face. He jumped and attempted to hurdle him.
However, once in the air, and said punter raised up to make the TD saving tackle, AB clearly and deliberately kicked him in the face. And yes, I believe to either act as a stiff arm move and/or to prevent serious injury to himself.
It was a bang-bang play and he made a split second decision. I don't believe any malice was intended or that he was trying to stick his cleat directly on his face to injure him.
But he absolutely extended his leg and foot in a kicking motion.
He will not be suspended, a fine is coming, and the flag was appropriate.
