This run to the playoffs has guaranteed more of the same next year. Really losing interest. "Steeler football" doesn't mean **** anymore.

Last night was a painful reminder that things really haven't changed that much. It was just a terrible performance.

It definitely does have a "they were just good enough in the short term to **** us longterm" feel to it, pertaining to Tombert's future with the franchise.

Good point, when looking at the past 3 yrs or so, every loss looks exactly like this one. They don't lose close, hard fought entertaining games.

When they lose , it's in emberassing form. TOmlin seems to have a hypnotizing effect on those in power , swaying them to the thought that, this **** just happens. It doesn't just happen .

Steeler football now, means disinterested at best.

First off I want to say I am just as pissed as anyone else about this loss, but for a fan to say they are losing interest then really are you a fan of just winning or of this team? I do not agree with a lot of what this team has done the last 3-4 years but I still live and die with these guys. Am I a Tomlin fan hell no but he is our coach, do I want some of our older players gone hell yeah but I still support and watch as painful as it is.

CD, I know what your saying but let's not forget this day and age in the NFL does not allow us to play Steeler Football like we use to. If we do then we get flags and fines. I am glad we have become a Offensive team only cause the is the direction the NFL wants to go and if we want another ring then that is the direction we have to go in. Steel Football is gone and buried it is time to step in the new age of the NFL and win 6 more rings. JMO

Oh yeah? Well, I'm already dreading the 2016 season. So there!

Seriously, people don't dread stuff they aren't interested in.

seattle is doing a good job of playing steeler football

The Ravens did a pretty good job of it last night. When you are in the grill of the opposing qb all night then said qb tends to not have a great game.

Yeah I'm just not in the mood for all this happy horseshit.

Come on man....I know you don't want to hear old man stories but we have sucked before and turned things around, no reason to believe we can't recover again. I'll agree that from a management viewpoint, it doesn't look too promising. Draft picks are showing up 50/50 to be productive or not, game plans are all too often the target of our armchair based experts and now we have free agents being signed that turn out to be of very questionable talent.

The good news is that for a couple games of late we saw a glimmer of hope. While it's true that was quickly dashed and the same ole-same ole came back to haunt us..we at least got to the dance. Didn't get to dance with anybody but at least we got in the door, that's a little improvement anyway.

But in a way it can be said that this same attitude is what leads to mediocrity.
If the "fans" show no displeasure, if they continue to fill the stadium & buy the shirts no matter how bad the team is then maybe management will assume everything is fine and nothing will change.

When fans stop complaining, when fans stop asking for a better team, when fans stop caring then it is too late.

It all starts with our draft picks. They just haven't been producing; or haven't bought into "Steeler Football".

After last night, I was the first one to comment and say it was time for Troy to go. But, after hearing his press conference, he truly understands what Steeler Football is.

It's never easy being a Steelers fan. I hope last night was a "growing experience."

So you would keep Troy on the roster next year because of this understanding? A big part of the Steeler way has been knowing when it was time to strongly suggest that aging/declining players get on "with their life's work". Now usually there is a guy in the pipeline who has been groomed to take that player's spot if not his place in our hearts. One of the problems with this team is a lack of depth. If a starter at any position goes down, who do we have to plug in and play the position in at least a decent manner or to to a level at least approaching the starter's? Across the board the answer is no one. (except RT where if Gilbert goes down, you get the same ****** level of play from Adams).

From the front office to the head coach there just doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency to add quality free agent starters or back ups, which is surprising given that the '08 and '09 drafts may as well not have happened for this team. There is just this sense that these guys feel ... complacent and like they have all the time in the world.

I would be willing to keep Troy in a back-up role...I dont know if he would be interested in that or what we would pay him to do that. I dont believe Troy will play for another team, just doesnt seem to be in his blood. I think he will retire if hes not with the Steelers.

Next year's first place schedule will be very tough unless we make some significant improvements, especially on the defensive side.

The less terrible teams we play the more I like our chances. I'm predicting a 12-4 season record.

Great point. During the 70s SB years I vividly remember everyone bitching on Monday morning when we didn't beat an inferior team by enough. It was like the entire city took offense when the Steelers let a bad team put up a fight. Talk about night and ******* day. Now you're a bad fan if you ***** about this team that's gone one and done, 8-8, 8-8, and one and done over the last four years? We're turning into Cleveland.

QFT

It's difficult to play "Steelers' football" with a finesse offensive line and bad defenders.

The RTs aren't finesse type of players. That is where the O-line problems primarily exist.

away - Kansas City, San Diego, St. Louis, Seattle, New England

home - Denver, Oakland, Arizona, San Francisco, Indianapolis

well - I bet the pessimist in me could find at least 8 losses in there

I'm pretty psyched for next year. Good pass rusher added and we are as good as anybody. Go Steelers!

Seattle doesn't get penalized for the hits we do. That Mitchell hit wouldn't have drawn a personal foul, and their CBs get away with more defensive holding that the old Pats teams from the early 00's. I don't know why some teams can do certain things while others really cant

I don't know... that's a whole lot of non crappy teams... do we lose to non crappy teams... I forget?
