Already dreading next season

Then i guess your account will be closed or deactivated and you can be about your lifes work or enjoy a hobby or family time.....

See ya !!!
No way. This witty repartee with smart people like you keeps me sharp.

I'm pretty psyched for next year. Good pass rusher added and we are as good as anybody. Go Steelers!

yes the number one priority IMO a proven passrusher

Next year's first place schedule will be very tough unless we make some significant improvements, especially on the defensive side.

Having a 1st place schedule only affects 2 games so that is not a big deal and we are talking Cheats over the Bills and Colts over Texans.

Seattle doesn't get penalized for the hits we do. That Mitchell hit wouldn't have drawn a personal foul, and their CBs get away with more defensive holding that the old Pats teams from the early 00's. I don't know why some teams can do certain things while others really cant

That is a homer view point. Every team has bad calls against them every game. To blame the refs is a cop out. Fact is, we didn't deserve to win yesterday. We SUCKED on both sides of the ball as did the coaching.

Likely Troy, Ike, Keisel and Debo will not return next year. LeBeau very well might retire. I could possibly see us bringing in Haslett to replace Dick, but as far as the players, there isn't much depth on that defense. Hell, Shamarko still can't crack the starting line up and the guys in front of him are average. Cortez Allen regressed badly after signing new contract and Worilds is not worth bringing back. The defense might actually be worse next year.

I'm not optimistic. Sorry.

Pretty significant difference if you ask me.

Well I look at it like this when people say a 1st place schedule it is only referring to 2 games, also yeah Cheats over Bills is a difference but really is the colts over Texans better or worse? I would rather play colts the Watt, jmo.

in 2008 we had the most difficult strength of schedule in the league. We won the superbowl that season.

home - Kansas City, San Diego, St. Louis, Seattle, New England

away - Denver, Oakland, Arizona, San Francisco, Indianapolis

well - I bet the pessimist in me could find at least 8 losses in there

According to johnnyroadtrip.com , this is the Steelers next season schedule.....
Home-- Denver, Oakland, Arizona, San Francisco, Indianapolis
Away-- Kansas City, San Diego , St. Louis, Seattle, New England

I can see 5 losses just from the teams listed. Throw in the rest of the Afcn and I can see 2-3 more losses.

We also had one of the greatest defenses in the NFL statistically since the merger, think our 2015 defense will be of that caliber.

Next year is a long assed time away..I wait to see how the team is assembled before that

sorry - I was drunk at the time and got them backwards - actually that would be even worse

There's 7 losses in that part of the schedule .

we've already beaten KC
Rivers doesnt worry me
Rams have no QB
Seattle could be tough
Patriots could be tough
Peyton could reture
Oakland - annual **** team we have difficulty with
Arizona has no QB
Kaepernick doesnt worry me
We beat the Colts already

Dri Archer will have another year of experience. 12-4 at minimum.

I'm willing to bet that if the Steelers were to play the Colts 10 times this season, the Colts would win at least 7 of them. On that particular night back in October, our players on offense might very well have ALL played their very best games that will have ever played, in their entire careers. It was magical, no doubt, but lets be real: it took just about every bit of that magic on offense, to outrun a Colts team that was on Pittsburgh's heels, for the better part of the night

SteelBuckeye, I understand your point of view but can also relate to Steelbush comment, "I would be willing to keep Troy in a back-up role."

In short, you are correct our lack of depth has hurt us and "Tombert's" next man up mentality conflicts with our actions Saturday night.

yes and no well in reference to depth after Blount yes....

but the the main culprit is bad decisions on starters

Gilbert/Allen/Jones/Ike/Thomas to a lesser extent Woirlds all arguable bad decisions in regards to starting

two even came with contract extensions.........
