Turnovers are always a massive equalizer. So is holding teams to FG's. From a scheme perspective particularly the holding to field goals you could say the defensive coaches had a winning performance. I don't think that could be said of offense. They took care of the ball and that was it. And that includes getting lucky on Ben being fouled when Washington fumbled. But Tomlin's clock management and use of time outs was as substandard as Bush and the Oline's play.

When you lunge at a QB that is a penalty. Matters not the impact on the QB. Not a lucky call the right call. If you like we can say it is lucky because they were not calling some things they should have. But that wouldn't be a new event confined to one game.
