Art speaking now,

93.7 The Fan reported some of what was said.
“Mikes won a lot of games in this league”.
“We want to sign one of the FA QBs, Justin or Wilson”.
“We want to also look in this years or next years drafts at the QB position”.
ESPNs Brook Pryor said not to expect wholesale changes.

Any questions about the stadium lease expiring yet?
Never too soon .. 2030 the current deal expires.
I wouldn’t be surprised that the Rooney family sells its majority at or near that time.

Not as crazy as it sounds..no lease and about a dozen cities would build then a palace somewhere..

Win some games. Keep seats filled and they are happy. Above average is now the standard and the goal. Winning SB's is not the goal anymore. It is icing on the cake but not needed and the owners will be happy.
He didn’t have to speak to the fans to know winning the SB isn’t the goal. Nor is getting to one.

Lining the pockets is the only goal.

Say less Art

Sounds like a lotta blah, blah, blah

Mike’s great
We need a QB
Status quo
Blah, blah, blah

Did he at least end it with something clever like “Happy Groundhog’s Day!”
That is all he should have said, happy Groundhog and pull out his wallet and smile.

No matter we know that is what he said even if he didn’t actually say it.

Everybody should know that bullshit he spewed last year was just that.

No mysteries no myths just businessman Bob and the mediocre substandard standard.

I listened to Art’s news conference and all I can say is I’m uninspired by what I heard.
The guy had no emotion in his voice. It was just like he’s going through the motions of being a reluctant owner.
Meaning, I don’t think he likes being the principle owner of this team. I don’t think he really ever wanted this and it just sounds it from his tone.
This Rooney was not passionate like his father and was more of on the business side of this franchise.
He should have been visibly upset and angry with how his franchise just finished the season in the fashion they did.
Getting blown out and embarrassed in four of the last five loses to end their season I would have expected more emotion and unhappiness in his tone. I think his happiest day is when he turns this over to his son. Hopefully the son is a better owner but I have my doubts.

I didn’t even hunt it down I know it would have just irked me with his lack of passion. I seen enough from him too. Be glad when someone else is in charge..

Wasn't it his son the other day that said they are happy filling seats? If so, it just doesn't look good for the Steelers as long as the Rooney's are still in control. I hope I'm wrong on this.

I’m not sure but I think the minority owners have over 50% ownership. Like I said, I’m not sure of that but I think I’ve heard that before.
Would be interesting to know what some of the minority owners think.

Third generation guys are always the weakest links... if things dont collapse around them, then the 4th generation guys either divest entirely or end up fixing stuff... just in general business... not specifically franchise owners...

Art sr founded the team...
Dan Sr perfected it
Art 2 tried to carry on the legacy in flawed manners
So what will Dan Jr do? Sell or fix things...

I think the Rooney’s have controlling interest. Not sure the total percentage.

I thought I read somewhere a few years ago that the Rooney family now owns only a minority share of the team but that the sale stipulations were that they would still control the operations and decision making.

I explained this many times over the last couple years.
