Austin to be canned at DC (or not...only the shadow knows)

This is bogus. In fact, I've heard the complete opposite on The Fan today. These guys aren't going anywhere and expect just minor tweaks to coaching staff.
I guess that means Art has given up on any REAL progression on the team, just plum given up. What a thing to do, Art you ain't a 1/4 of the owner your grand dad or dad were. Haven't won a single playoff games in 8 years, coming up on a decade. Way to go Fraudlin.

I’ve seen nothing that says Terrell Austin or Pat Meyer will be relieved of their positions.
All that I’ve seen so far is that DB Coach Grady Brown is interviewing for the Atlanta Falcons DC.

Add in that Arthur Smith has / will interview for HC job. I thought the Jets were bringing him in and I don’t remeber the other one.

Yeah, Austin wont be let go because he is just following orders anyway... Meyer will get the injury excuse and the " we want continuity"

2026/27 we will get movement... they wont force Tomlin out till he surpasses Noll in wins... he is 10 behind him in regular season wins and 18 in total wins... two more Tomlinships gets him there...

Bingo

Technically, no one would hire Flores as he was suing the League. He was given a Defensive “Consultant” title to allow another pair of eyes could provide additional input. MIN offered him the DC job, and he would have been an idiot not to accept it. Now he’s getting the token HC consideration. Thought we would get compensation for it, but it wasn’t a qualifier. Hindsight we probably should had he same for OC when O’Canada was here.
I'm pretty sure that Flores was on a one-year deal with the Steelers.

Also the magical number of 200 is achievable. Steelers will finally have a coach in that elite group.

Sorry! Chicago Bears interviewed Arthur and he has one with the NY Jets.
The Jets and Bears are where coaching careers go to die though. Nothing good will come of that.
He'd be better off staying with the Steelers for another year.

The Tomlin Fan Club will be over moon that he passed Noll in less seasons while conveniently ignoring the fact that when Noll started here there were 14 games in a season and in 1978 it expanded to 16.

If soneone wants to make Arthur Smith an HC I'd really like to know why? I want Tomlin gone don't get me wrong. But I could see how in the 4-7 win a year class he would have a huge market. There is not one other coach in this organization I believe would have a real market. Let's be clear. Interviews are not jobs.

I think keeping it to Noll having half as many SB as Tomlin has playoff wins pretty much ends that argument.

I like Arthur Smith and understand his slow death by staying here.

That said, If he leaves it would give us a mandated change and quite possibly start a cascade.

They are keeping Pat Meyer for crimey sakes…………..

I think his recent extension proves this. I’m sure it was brought up during the “time” negotiation part of the extension.

Art 2 is weak.

After losing five consecutive games to end the season in embarrassing fashion, I'm not sure what kind of message is sent by not making any significant changes to the coaching staff.

In particular, Meyer still having a job seems inexcusable.

For all the lip service from Tomlin and others in the organization paid toward not being satisfied with the way things have gone, they sure seem intent on maintaining the status quo as much as possible.

It's beyond discouraging to see.

As far as the staff goes, I'm not really sure why Grady Brown is getting interest for a DC position, considering how much JPJ and Minkah have regressed under him and all the blown coverages we saw late in the season.

One of the reporters at DK sports said in a podcast that he's not surprised by the interest as Brown is an "impressive individual," which is great and all, but what about the actual performance of the unit he coaches?

Brown kind of seems like Tomlin Jr: more flare than substance. Good luck to the Falcons if they hire him.

I read something about Grady Brown’s turnover culture. I guess, but turnovers and protecting the ball is a Tomlin thing not unique to Brown. Good for Brown, though if he gets a promotion.

I have never seen this fanbase so out on the Steelers and it’s because they kept Tomlin. Now day by day it looks like he’s just gonna run it back with much of the same coaching staff that can’t outscheme opponents or develop young players.

They rank 24 offensive stats and literally everyone below them is horrific. So I ask again why would anyone a year off of a failed HC experience and those numbers be any type of interested in Arthur Smith?

I'm at a loss here. What has Art done to deserve being looked at for HC? I just don't get it. Granted, he's knee deep in Fraudlin BS and not allowed to really call his own plays, but he's done nothing deserving of being interviewed at HC.

It's all BS, he will get Noll's record so undeservedly.
