Austin to be canned at DC (or not...only the shadow knows)

After losing five consecutive games to end the season in embarrassing fashion, I'm not sure what kind of message is sent by not making any significant changes to the coaching staff.

In particular, Meyer still having a job seems inexcusable.

For all the lip service from Tomlin and others in the organization paid toward not being satisfied with the way things have gone, they sure seem intent on maintaining the status quo as much as possible.

It's beyond discouraging to see.

As far as the staff goes, I'm not really sure why Grady Brown is getting interest for a DC position, considering how much JPJ and Minkah have regressed under him and all the blown coverages we saw late in the season.

One of the reporters at DK sports said in a podcast that he's not surprised by the interest as Brown is an "impressive individual," which is great and all, but what about the actual performance of the unit he coaches?

Brown kind of seems like Tomlin Jr: more flare than substance. Good luck to the Falcons if they hire him.
Or that Fraudlin got fat on 4 games vs. the Browns and Cinci every year. Neither of those teams were good for many years in the Mediocre Mike period.

That was 4 automatic wins a year.

I like Arthur Smith and understand his slow death by staying here.

That said, If he leaves it would give us a mandated change and quite possibly start a cascade.

They are keeping Pat Meyer for crimey sakes…………..

If Smith leaves, I betcha that Shades will want Meyer for OC.

It's all BS, he will get Noll's record so undeservedly.

Noll's record that matters?4-0

Tomlin has built nothing in his tenure so far, only mediocrity. In fact he's basically wrecked a culture that's been going on for over 50 years.

It's really hard to watch knowing what used to be for a long time has zero chance of coming back.

It will be difficult but I won’t be watching. Definitely seen enough of this sh!t show.

in your line of work you deal with "new" people every day. not too much repeat biz.
Funeral Director is a fairly recent development. I've had other careers, studied and taught economics, management, marketing, and organizational behavior at the college level, have a master's degree.
I'm 64 and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I'm not either. I've seen this movie a bunch of times. The ending sucks. I'm completely disgusted with it and the owner doesn't give a ****,so why should I invest any of my time in a faulty fatally flawed product?

I was disgusted with it last year, but this year did me in. I don't give two ***** about the NFL product in general,so it's not that difficult. Not that they give a **** about any of us anyway. They have plenty of consumers.

I did this to the Pirates back in the early 90's and never looked back. I missed absolutely nothing.

Does it really matter? Tomlin dictates how the O & D are to be run.
I read something about Grady Brown’s turnover culture. I guess, but turnovers and protecting the ball is a Tomlin thing not unique to Brown. Good for Brown, though if he gets a promotion.
It would be the first Bud on Tomlin’s coaching tree.

Not a Coach Tomlin fan at all, but, hard nosed stomp their dick in the dirt Defense is never coming back.

There's zero reason it can't. Not even with the rules of engagement nowadays.

I'm not tuning into this stuff next year anyway, so they can do whatever.

For many years with Big Ben at QB Cleveland and Cincinnati were about as automatic as you could get.

Especially Cleveland.

For a couple seasons, Ben ROETHLISBERGER was the most winninest QB at the Cleveland home stadium. He just didn’t lose against Cleveland.

Baker Dozen even tally pressed BEN out of their home field wins

Salute the natio

Other than the owners decision to get away from that type of play to limit their financial liability.

May as well go with flags and no helmets. They will never make a collision sport with large humans "safe". I started to watch the kc vs Houston game earlier and turned it off as soon as I saw the roughing the passer penalty on Mahomes. Yeah,no thanks.

It's completely unappealing to me, but hey that's me,if everyone else loves arena ball, then more power to them.

I'm good with what I got to watch in the past.

Imagine if you were a Browns' fan.

Yeah. Not to many Browns fans alive thst remember a championship. But thier games are sold out every game.
And football bars always has a brown fanclub

Imagine if you were a Browns' fan.

I would have found something else to commit myself to long ago. I don't know how you find hope in that mess.

That loyalty and commitment stuff has to go both ways. The Browns are run by idiots.

At least the Bengals have made it to superbowls.

The Ravens are just the purple Browns. They took it all with them when they left Cleveland and turned purple.
