I'm happy with Trubisky, but if the Steelers got that deal (which they wouldn'thave), I wouldn't have hated it.
Isn't 5 mil the Panthers are paying for Baker the same as the Steelers are paying Trubisky?
They might be close to being the same type of QB.
I don't think the 5th is too horrible to have to give up on the Panthers side of things..

Q. As I'm texting a 49ers fan laughing about Mayfield. At what point will the 49ers be on the hook for Jimmy G.s 24 million base salary. Is it week to week as in he is cut week 3 they save 14/17 of it. Or is there a date when he is on the 49ers and they owe the 24 in total.
Not really… if you follow the nhl, teams routinely make cap space the biggest asset in a trade… the browns absolutely needed to clear some of that cap space off the books. They were supposedly straight up told by an unnamed team that to take him off their hands theyd have to send that team substantial draft compensation … so to clear 8 million off the books they traded baker mayfield and got a fifth backto balance it out

I missed the part where Brees ego took over when they drafted manning and traded him for Rivers… oh yeah he didn’t do that… he played a season and maximized his value to another team…
Baker’s issues are that he makes too many hero throws into coverage… his ego will never let him be great because he wants to make plays when he should be playing it safe.. he routinely leads the league or is very high in contested throws… its where his season killing picks happen too often
Look he isn’t physically or mentally gifted enough to have been the first overall pick… he only got that because the owner loved his brash attitude… he just isn’t a star franchise qb… he is an ok qb in a town that had a lot of horrible qbs over the years…
The only downside from a Steeler standpoint is that they now know what Rudolph is worth.

I know we get frustrated with our owner / staff but our's does nothing in comparison to these Browns Jokers.
Couldn't even imagine the retort around here and how "jumper" proof the bridges would become around the city of PITTSBURGH.
I have a T-shirt that says "the only sign of life in cleveland, PITTSBURGH 167 miles" It's a highway sign with the Pittsburgh part in white lettering.

Panthers drafted Matt Corral. Seems they want a cocky QB who pushes the ball downfield. Darnold isn't aggressive. They probably will want to trade Darnold.

I hope his punishment is just enough that the Browns can’t get out of the deal.
With Bakers issues forcing throws Darnold's INTs are even worse just too often taking place. I look for Baker to win that job and beat his old team week 1. Not sure with their shaky QB situation that they will trade away one. Not sure that is a great idea. Besides Baker isn't costing the Panthers much.
