ESPN reporting that the Chicago Bears were rebuffed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in an attempt to talk with Mike Tomlin about a possible trade for the coach.
I do not see why they wouldn’t at least hear what the Bears would offer. Absolutely nothing to lose. I know, Tomlin has this no trade clause that I still can’t believe the franchise would agreed to.
If anything, find out what they would be wiling to offer. Might even make Tomlin feel somewhat uneasy that the organization was willing to listen.
He needs to at the very least be made to feel some uneasiness and not made to feel comfortable for consistent mediocre results.

I’m sure it would be insulting to Mike if the Steelers took a listen to what the Bears would offer.

On paper, this would've been the perfect year for the Steelers trade break with Tomlin. If they sat down and agreed a mutual parting ways was best for both sides, Tomlin would've had a pretty big market and a deal could've been worked out. In reality, when ARII gave Tomlin a 3-year contract extension last season it pretty guaranteed at least 3 more seasons with Tomlin with the potential to move on from him in his contract year.

Steeler fans who really understand the culture and the ownership should know there is no way in hell they are going to entertain any offers for Coach Tomlin.

“Never say never, but NEVER”

They're not trading him, although it could really set them up for the future if they did it NOW!

Unfortunately the Steelers are on the 15 year championship team building plan. It looks like it will need 5-8 more years.
Unfortunately, there is no bright star QB out there, prospects are rather bleak on that front right now or else maybe Art would consider it. I mean, I doubt it, being that Art doesn't want "bothered" with hiring a new head coach, but we can always dream.

"On paper" I disagree. Who is the future HOF QB they'd be getting?

Well unless he is open to it.....total moot point. I will say this. Unless he turns this thing around massively (not a wildcard win) and they sign him again. I'm gonna be as close as I can be to being done with this **** as I can.

HOPE can be present

About the time Tom Lin’s contract expires, Art 2 will be stepping down. I think it will be young “Dan” to get the reigns and steer the ship. He’s been being groomed for awhile and has spoken out about change.

More than likely “hushed” by being explained to him a time frame of his promotion. He is probably bidding time and will make a big move once in office.

HOPE can be loud

Salute the nation

Just more of the same. Ownership defends MT's honor after yet another playoff debacle. On the heels of yet another contract extension last offseason. Now they won't even follow through with due diligence to at least get an idea of what the potential trade market might yield. God forbid that Mike would find it "insulting." If nothing else, maybe it would light a fire under his *** to make some fundamental changes in his approach. Nah. We good.

It's nauseating, and it's becoming more and more frustrating to be a Steelers fan right now.

No harm in listening!

I think tomlins agent would like to hear about it. Maybe they already talked. If it be a healthy boost in pay the agent would want that action. Maybe he can stir the soup and get more money for his client.

But Rooney would be inconvenienced by wining and dining a new hc. Probably won't happen.

I wish SN would put a stop to clickbait trash.

There is no reference to “multiple teams” interest in Tomlin in the article.

STEELERS NEWS

Report: Steelers Have Already Been Approached By Multiple Teams About Trading For Mike Tomlin

https://www.steelernation.com/2025/01/18/steelers-report-approached-trading-mike-tomli
I did read that there was another team interested, but they didn't approach because of the non-trade clause in Tomlin's contract. No idea if it's true or not.

What I do know is that the future of this franchise will be mired down as long as Tomlin has his thumb in every aspect of the game. As far as not listening to offers, is Deuce following some sort of outdated, wound inflicted ideology, or is he just plain ignorant?

As a Steeler fan who obviously understands the culture and the ownership, when can we as fans expect a playoff win? Asking for a friend.

Take my coach, please...

If you were him with 50 million in the contract and apparently the expectation is pretty ****** low, with your family settled for getting close to 20 years. Would you be interested in being traded. Not happening.
