Ben sprained MCL out 4 weeks

Rams safety Mark Barron:
"I stumbled on the way in and just caught his leg. Some kind of way, he ended up hurt. I caught him down around his lower leg. He was grabbing his knee. I didn't have anything to do with his knee. I saw him fall. I didn't see how he fell, I just saw him fall. I don't know exactly what happened to him. Like I said, I just caught him down around his ankle and he fell and grabbed his knee."

Really? WTF? How the hell can he honestly say he had nothing to do with his knee?

See a little know fact about personal fouls in the nfl is the league doles out fines to ones not called on the field if grievous enough... If I were a player who just did that id be spinning it like a total freak accident too, in hopes that I didn't get fined

He said the hit wasn't dirty. Of course.

By his standards.. of course... Harrison likely thinks a baseball bat to the head of an opponent is a perfectly legal and acceptable play. he probably was griping that the safety wasn't packing heat so he could kneecap ben after the play and put him out longer... He was the dirtiest headhunter in the game and did whatever he could to hurt players outside of the rules. STFU Rodney

So is everyone that's complaining about the hit giving the 05 Super Bowl trophy back ? It wasn't a dirty hit its ******* football or it use to be football.

It wasn't an illegal play in 05... they changed the rules to protect Brady, but only call it for Brady

That was before they put the rule in. Now if your coming in low its a penalty. He should of left Ben alone or waited til he got up. It's a penalty or should have been. Once he fell on his own he isn't able to tackle Ben until he gets in position again. He should be fined

The rule was changed. Period. If you're going to call that ************ FOR Tommy Boy, you better be ******* calling it for Ben too. I don't like it, but it is what it is, and if that's the ******* rule, and we have to get gouged by the calls, we should get the ******* laundry when it's done TO us as well.

Kemo was going down, he did not crawl and lunge, even so, today his play would be a foul. Period.

Joe

It will draw a fine cause it was an illegal hit. But who cares big deal. If it costs the Steelers their season what is 30k

Everything I've seen is pretty simple. Through body kinetics, the strain is on the MCL. The knee looked to bend about 10-15% to the left. That's a significant range of motion, but still doesn't definitely show a torn MCL, but make no mistake, the MCL is injured. Significant flexes can also damage the ACL and PCL. Culpepper tore all 3 and turned him into a bum on the field after it. Ben is a big guy, and has had hyperextensions before. I remember seeing one from the front that I thought was an ACL, and he only missed a game.

From what I saw: 2-4 weeks is a pipe dream. 4-6 is reasonable for a strain. Out for the season if there is any tear whatsoever.

I did not like seeing his walking on crutches. You can put full weight on a torn ACL. ACLs only hurt when you try to stop your frontward momentum on your injured knee. Ben could not put resting pressure on that knee. It may be due to swelling, I sure as hell hope so, because I wish to see him play again this year.

(if you're wondering why I know so much about injuries, I studied kinesiology and was pre physical therapy/pre-med in college. I was also fortune enough to be a student trainer and rehabbed, treated, taped, and tested student athletes before, during and after games. The best class I took, we would watch football injury replays and try and diagnose the injury from the film we saw.)

Oh, it was dirty. He aimed for his lower leg as he crawled/lunged for him....

Looks like Barron hit the turf right before impact, hopefully that helped reduce the force of the hit and any damage to the knee.

Jason LaCanfora reporting that the MRI revealed no damage to the ACL and that it is an MCL sprain.

Yep, just reading that now too. Man, that's great news with all things considered.

He adds, "Expected to make a 4-week recovery"

Bleacher Report is saying the MRI tonight on Ben's knee confirms it's just an MCL Sprain and his ACL is not damaged.

So he's possibly out 4 weeks.

Thank god!

Now we just need Ron Mexico to beat down opponents like a rented dog!

**** you Rodney... Saying we won't win 1 game these next 5 weeks. Eat a Dick.

I see what you did there.
