Ben sprained MCL out 4 weeks

I'm sure Haley has prepared for this and has a section of the playbook designed for Vick....

wasn't schefter the one reporting that Ben wanted to be traded?

Yes, but let's not single him out COMPLETELY. He's only one of the no talent hacks talking heads that masquerade as "experts".

But the real rub is the coverage on the game by ESPN, NFL Network, NBC, etc. -- and I cannot decide which is worse btw, but it is fact: Without the Ben injury, the Steelers go on to win today with another TD or two, Roethlisberger hits the 300 plus yard mark, again. And you'd be lucky to get those no talent talking heads to comment more than 2 or 3 sentences about the game as it won't even warrant a 3 minute highlight package. They won't hesitate to stop time itself to shove a Johnny Manziel highlight down your throat, with an endless amount of Cowboys news even if they are on bye week, another helping of Chip Kelly crap shoved down your throat with the side order of 10 minutes of repeating Patriots highlights and Belichick news conferences.

But it gets bad because Ben got hurt, it gets airtime and the no talent hack talking heads will ramble on about the impact of his injury, was it dirty or not (and you guys pop a blood vessel in your forehead because they say the politically correct thing by the NFL about it not being dirty). You won't get a word about how the defense stepped up on the road to dominate an offense that dropped 34 on Seattle to start the year -- although thank god we can count on 5-10 minutes Matthew Berry providing unparalleled fantasy advice -- insight that you have to Darwin Award level stupid to actually benefit from -- i.e. benching Antonio Brown on your fantasy team in favor of Julio Jones next week (so you better check your leagues waiver wire).

Though it might be worse that there will be more coverage on the team because it is Michael Vick starting and not "ANYONE" else. It's bad enough that I'm talking only about NFL coverage and highlights, to say nothing about how it's a matter of hours (if not minutes) before some ignorant woman gets on her soapbox to preach about how the never charged "but-I'm-labeling-him-guilty-anyway" rants or Mike Florio will put out a baseless statement about how Ben bought his way out of trouble in 2010 and millions of "dumb enough to wonder why Obama is not running for President in 2016 level intelligence" followers will bring this crap all back front and center.

Damn it, I need another beer.

of course Julio Jones will be there for the taking on the waiver wire, right...

maybe San Diego? Vick looked like hot garbage in relief. He isn't Batch, and I think the W L's will reflect that. The realist that I am see's one win while Ben is out

maybe

Haley nor Tomlin had the vision to protect their franchise qb. Kordell was as accurate as a weatherman yet cowher won with him... What will stupid do?

Didn't see where I mentioned accuracy. What I did focus on was the major threat Kordell's mobility presented. A threat that Vick, at this stage in his career, just doesn't have anymore. Btw, since how the OC uses a QB is the HC's responsibility, one of the most stupid ideas Cowher and Co. ever had was trying to make Kordell into a pocket passer. Took away one of his only redeeming qualities and a major part of his game.

Finally, neither Tomlin nor Haley was out there getting beat like a redheaded stepchild. That was Beachum and Wallace. One of the highest rated LTs in the league and the backup center that many kept telling us was on par with our injured All-Pro Center. I guess his game yesterday should end that type of bullshit.

plus he knew what he was doing. He grabs Bens leg and then rolls his shoulder into bens leg knowing he's holding the foot and the only thing that can give is his knee. Then he jumps up and celebrates!

Run Vick till his wheels fall off

Seriously how is this the coaches fault? That doesn't make any sense. Players get hurt.

As far as last years playoff game the oline **** the bed. What game plan can withstand that?

Seriously blaming the coaches. What should they do wrap him bubble wrap??

In fairness the Rams have one of the better DL's we'll face this year. Aaron Donald, DROY and late of Pitt, someone here thought the Steelers should have drafted him last year since our DL wasn't real good, who was that? Oh right, that was me.....

All this talk about Vick, we should be talking about Landry Jones. Vick will last maybe 3 quarters before he gets hurt. Haley has to call quick outs/5 step flys or handoffs. Once play breaks down mike does "his thing" which he not protect the ball or himself. Cut the rah rah **** the steelers are ****** for the next 4-6. And please with the "they were 3-1 with batch." Yeah, so? What does that have to do with this year? Get Shazier and Martavius back and take it from there. As for Thursday run the ball with both backs. Give them 20 touches each (plus whatever passes Le'Veon catches). Keep Flacco off the field. The game is in Pitt, this will help.

Now we have another kordell like qb

Yeah...but Kordell could at least stay healthy and not fumble, though he did throw picks. Vick had 6 pass attempts and already had one fumble. That was my problem with picking him up, he's a fumble machine. They'll be lucky to go .500 with him under center.

Two fumbles...he fumbled out of bounds too

It was Ian Rappaport that reported that Ben was being traded. Not Adam Shefter.

See this is the type of argument that makes me laugh. They will be lucky to go .500 with him. Yes they will be very lucky to go .500. I will shout for joy if they go .500 with him. They picked him off of the street for vet minimum. Were you expecting come back player of the year. You show me one middle of the pack team. Hell, you show me one team that would win half their games without their starter. Gawd.

The one freakin year we don't have an early bye week and this happens...

We are 2-1 now. If we split the next 4 games we are in position for a playoff run.

According to Tomlin, there is no timetable for Ben's return. I'm guessing Ben will be back in 4 weeks tops.. he's a tough SOB.

It wasn't so much an argument as it was a statement of fact. Which you just agreed with. So I don't know what yer bitchin about. No, I wasn't expecting comeback player of the year. If I did, I wouldn't have said what I did. However, in the history of the league, there have been teams that lost their starter and managed to win more than they lost. ****, the Giants won a SB with Hostetler. And I what I said is, they'll be lucky to get to .500 because the guy they got is a fumble machine. Gawd.

Hoping he'll be back by Nov 1st at home against Bengals. That would be 4 games missed, 5 weeks since the injury.

I guess I shouldn't expect you to understand in game adjustments since you are a big fan of Tomlin... Our line was getting abused and needed a little help. When Ben had time he tore them up why not insert one of our damn full backs to help? Another TE?

Last year captain stupid didn't replace Blount and went into the playoffs without a back .. but go ahead and blame the line.

Gotta hope if its 6 games we can go 4-2 or better. Have some tough road games coming up. Gonna miss seeing Ben twice in the next month. Not happy about that but if we gameplan properly we can win some of these games. If Vick goes down, I don't even want to see that ****.
