Ben to IR, out for season

Spike's window of opportunity is closing...he wants super bowls now.

Well yeah, its always all about me

We had a window and they squandered it, no wonder I'm pissed

This team wasn't going anywhere with this years injured version of Ben and with Tomlin so at least we can lose and see a young QB's progression.

My God your negativity is pathetic...give it a rest!!!

Let's see what the kid brings to the field - NO ONE HAS TAPE ON HIM and this could be the beginning of 'the new era'.

Feel free to stand there in your pissy pants - I, for one, I'm gonna change my diaper and move on...

Hope for the best with young Mason and he’ll have our support. This is why he was drafted to see if he was the heir apparent and we’re going to find out this season.
As for Ben who knows! Age against him and that’s always a serious injury for a QB. And will Ben have the desire to work his way back? Signing bonus is guaranteed and he’s made more money to last several lifetimes. I wouldn’t blame him if he retires, he has nothing left to prove. Now Cool Shades has to be sweating his *** off.

We knew this day would come. If I was Ben, I'd announce retirement at end of season. Mentor the young Rudolph until then.

A new era begins.

If Ben can play next year, he better come back and start. He needs one more SB.

Drew Brees out 6-8 weeks, Nick Foles last week......so much for "saving" them during pre season.

I really believe that giving so much time off to Ben probably contributed to his torn UCL. You cannot come out and throw hard once a week and not expect some damage to be done. It is VERY rare for a QB to tear his UCL because the throwing mechanics for a football does not put strain on the UCL.

Rudolph needs to grow a sweet mustache now.*

*I know this glosses over the Cliff Stout era and skips straight to Malone, but work with me here.

I think it’s fair to jump to conclusions lol this season is done.

I'm in no way saying this will happen, but let's not forget a certain qb ran off 16 straight wins his rookie year

Ben inherited a team with a number one defense, a great OL, a HOF RB, and veteran WR. HUGE difference in what Mason is taking over.

Yipee you told me. This season was done with or without Ben, it will be fun to watch Randolph play and grow instead of having Ben struggle with his injury and Tomlin's poor coaching.

Last I checked, Mason was already 0-1 for the season. That makes it harder for that whole 16 straight wins thing to materialize.

Not disputing your disgust but there where people here questioning the coach's decision to put Ben back in the game last year in Oakland...you can't have it both ways, if Ben didn't pull himself NO ONE could have the foresight to know exactly what was wrong until he decided to come off the field.

Typical...

Ben was checked out and cleared to play in Oakland.

This is much different.

The franchise, a 100 million dollar QB, was grabbing his elbow. A non contact injury. IMO, you pull him, and I said so in the game thread.

At that point you don't know what it is, and to the best of my knowledge we still don't.
