So i went to a metric ton of rankings lists just to see the general opinion of nfl observers over the two. Both typically show up in the top 50 of the best players rankings and its divided about who gets ranked higher. Sometimes mincah and sometimes wagner… at 32 he has about 3 years left for an ilb of his quality… its hard to find a justification to pay him that kind of contract over an extension for a younger and equally impressive Mincah… if he was able to be obtained cheaply or had been younger there is a case, but he will likely go to a team that uses mlbs as mlbs like the ravens or chargers over our scheme

This I can get onboard with... He is only 26 and pretty consistent... Still need some help on that DL to keep backers clean.
 
Minkah was great this year but he should not be making as many tackles as he did this year. He came down to help out because he had to. We need the DL to be improved so the ILB's can do their jobs and then the safeties can do their jobs. The DL is the key to everything.

That's what happens when Bush, Spillane, and Schobert are trailing three yards away like the tail of a kite.
 
I like Wagner depending on what the Steelers do at QB and OL. He does make the defense instantly better but if they are not going to be able to make a run Vander Esch seems like a more viable long-term option.
 
To me, I don't want to spend a ton of money at ILB when I have 2 starters there. The upgrade per dollar cost for Wagner just doesn't help us when we need to fill 3 WR, 2OL, DE, 2CBs and a SS. Not to mention a possible QB.
